24/7

Chelsea are likely to be backable at a higher price at some stage in this match against Thailand XI. I am going to put my faith in Celtic taking advantage of Rangers' slip up yesterday. Celtic have scored 3,2,3,3 against Hibs in last 3 head to heads, and while I acknowledge potential DAY 1 slip ups , I hope Celtic have the necessary nouse to take an immediate ( and potentially priceless) 2 point lead.

*****ONE A DAY - HIBS V CELTIC - BACK CELTIC IN THE MATCH ODDS AT 1.38*****

Man Utd won and those who wanted to could have backed this 1.23 shot at evens or better as they were 1-0 down. I got 1.8 and was very happy with the average ( having backed at 1.2 as well pre match)

1145am - Thailand All Stars v Chelsea - 1.1 away - 545pm in Bangkok and it will be extremely hot so 1.1 may be layable if Chelsea replicate their performance against Malaysia XI ( 1-0 late late goal)

1230pm -
Hibernian v Celtic - 1.38 away - Rangers only drew 1-1 at home and immediately this opens the door for Celtic to take advantage and push forward with a 2 point lead with a win.
06.04.2011 PR Celtic FC 3-1 Hibernian FC
15.01.2011 PR Hibernian FC 0-3 Celtic FC
25.09.2010 PR Celtic FC 2-1 Hibernian FC
17.04.2010 PR Celtic FC 3-2 Hibernian FC
04.04.2010 PR Hibernian FC 0-1 Celtic FC
27.01.2010 PR Celtic FC 1-2 Hibernian FC

Head to heads clearly in Celtic's favour and that's it folks! 3-0 away in January and really this must be targeted as a win for reasons above. Rangers draw could eminate throughout the season.

3pm - FC Basel v Neuchatel Xamax - 1.29 home - 1 or 2 matches only played in this Swiss league so limited form - 1-1 draw for Basel and 0-3 home loss for Xamax.
Head to Heads
24.06.2011 CF FC Basel 1-3 Neuchâtel Xamax
20.04.2011 D1 Neuchâtel Xamax 2-2 FC Basel
02.04.2011 D1 FC Basel 1-0 Neuchâtel Xamax
28.11.2010 D1 Neuchâtel Xamax 1-2 FC Basel
28.08.2010 D1 FC Basel 4-1 Neuchâtel Xamax
13.05.2010 D1 FC Basel 3-0 Neuchâtel Xamax

last match a friendly - how serious do we take it, considering Basel have the upper hand.

5pm - Shakhtar v Karpaty - 1.22 home - again only 2/3 matches this early on so faith in the odds, head to heads and only 2/3 matches.
13.03.2011 D1 Karpaty Lviv 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
07.02.2011 CF Karpaty Lviv 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
15.08.2010 D1 Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 Karpaty Lviv
15.04.2010 D1 Karpaty Lviv 0-2 Shakhtar Donetsk
18.10.2009 D1 Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1 Karpaty Lviv
30.11.2008 D1 Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 Karpaty Lviv

Last 3 matches 1-0 and last 2 for Karpaty. 2 wins for Shaktar this season 2-0 and 4-0.
1-0 loss and 1-1 draw for Karpaty signals a potential tight match ( as per the head to heads).
Naturally not enough for an indepth look at form/goals/correct scores etc, suffice to say that the "vibe" could be for a tight match given last 3 head to heads 1-0 results.

530pm - Dnipro v Volyn - 1.3 home - again head to heads and 2 matches this season all we can work with.
14.11.2010 D1 Volyn Lutsk 1-1 Dnipro
18.07.2010 D1 Dnipro 2-0 Volyn Lutsk
22.04.2006 D1 Dnipro 0-0 Volyn Lutsk

Inconclusive head to heads
Dnipro's first home match of the season. 3-3 draw and 2-0 win with 2 away matches. Volyn 1-0 loss and 2-2 home draw ( includes 93rd minute equaliser for Volyn)

7pm -
Porto v Penarol - 1.37 home - a friendly but when a side have the winning thread they do not like losing , and despite the loss of apparently talented manager ( although to be honest talented players can make a manager look good) this could be another good opportunity to back Porto - Porto have scored 7, 10, 0, 3, 3 in their friendlies, the last away to Portugeuse opponents.

325 ASCOT

BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Burj Nahar, 9/2 Kiama Bay, 9/2 Warlu Way, 7/1 Star In Flight, 10/1 Aurorian, 12/1 Prompter, 16/1 Chock A Block, 16/1 English Summer, 20/1 Nehaam.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The promising BURJ NAHAR, who is unbeaten in two starts, is a potential Listed/Group performer still in handicapper's clothing and he's taken to defy top weight. Kiama Bay has been hit hard for his wide-margin Chester success but he's progressing nicely, while Warlu Way and Star In Flight also look open to further improvement.[Steve Boow]

Price gapper and a listed performer in handicapper's clothing?

150 CARLISLE

BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Half A Billion, 3/1 Byrama, 5/1 Summer Lane, 7/1 Key Ambition, 10/1 Never In, 12/1 Lord Buffhead, 16/1 Our Monica, 33/1 Simpson Millar.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Half A Billion was a major disappointment at Hamilton (on which running he does not have much to spare over Never In and Lord Buffhead) and will need to run to something like the level of his debut form to get the better of BYRAMA who looks sure to improve for her initial experience.[Frank Carter]

5 under 20/1 in an 8 horse race - maiden and disappointing fav last time out - can he place again?

350 PONTEFRACT

BETTING FORECAST: 8/13 Cityscape, 5/1 Emerald Commander, 13/2 St Moritz, 10/1 Off Chance.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Queen Anne third CITYSCAPE sets a very smart standard back down in class and is difficult to oppose. Emerald Commander is next best on official figures but he ideally needs rain and minor honours could be fought out by Penitent and St Moritz if the ground doesn't ease.[Steve Boow]

4 horses, 2 places here and surely Cityscape has an outstanding place only chance.

SHORTLIST

1145am - Thailand All Stars v Chelsea - 1.1 away - outside the scope of this message time wise, but a chance to back 0-0 and hope it remains 0-0 for a time for Chelsea to be backable at bigger odds. Against a Malaysian XI , it too til the 70th minute to score a solitary goal.

1230pm - Hibernian v Celtic - 1.38 away - rarely will Rangers drop points this season, so when they do, Celtic must take advantage and indeed they have scored 3,2,3,3 in their last 4 matches against Hibs.

530pm -
Dnipro v Volyn - 1.3 home - Dnipro have scored 2 and 3 in 2 away matches this season. I think with home advantage they could be worthy of support today? - Very illiquid market presently.

325 ASCOT - burj Nahar a listed performer in handicap company? If so, then surely he has a gerat chance of finishing in the first 3 in a 9 horse race. - reasonable place price at 1.38

350 PONTEFRACT - Cityscape to place only at 1.1 is reasonable in a 50/50 race for a big price gapper.
