9/5 UPDATE

If you see it, please ignore the libertas banner - it is not representative of me or my political views and I don't know why it's decided to add itself onto my blog

UPDATE as promised
210 LINGFIELD - Laudatory now 5/4 which is a market positive - 1.37 to place - again read previous entry re pros and cons
220 HEXHAM - I'm Delilah is hardening all the time at the head of the market. The jockey change is quite obviously not affecting peoples thoughts regarding this consistent sort. 1.12 to place replicates that confidence in the place only market
255 NOTT - now a 5 runner affair and still 3 the place - you see the benefit of doing this later.
Bouvardia 1.12
Servoca and All about you 1.29 to place
2 horses only to beat, and one is a 20/1 shot - great probability race
435 NOTT
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Roar Of Applause, 4/1 Perfect Affair, 8/1 Pride Of Kings, 10/1 Victorian Tycoon, 12/1 Cabernet Sauvignon, Common Diva, Three Ducks, Woodlark Island, 14/1 Olympic Dream, What A Day, 16/1 Amethyst Dawn, 20/1 Kaolak, 25/1 Highland Storm, 33/1 Clumber Place, Veroon, 50/1 Inside Knowledge.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Perfect Affair is almost certain to leave his maiden form behind now going handicapping but ROAR OF APPLAUSE, despite a penalty, will be a tough nut to crack after winning a better race than this in some style earlier in the week. Three Ducks and Cabernet Sauvignon are others that take the eye.[
Late addition given the decimated field. Original 16 runners down to 11, 4 are 20/1 or bigger, and 4 TO PLACE here
1.23 for this price gapper (now) and "hard to beat" selection

550 DUNDALK - Northgate still looks interesting - head of the market is tight though 6/4 ,5/2, 3/1 the first 3 then a big gap to 14/1 4th fav
1.19 the fav could still be open to flexibility given the illiquid market still

655 WARWICK - still drawn to this with 2 absent (including 3rd fav) leaving Wild Rhubarb and Isabel the ones to focus on. 3 places and 3 at 12/1
1.31 and 1.41 the front 2 to place ( only 3 horses to beat to place) but, as ever, the 12/1 for the perceived outsiders indicates competitiveness
1 mile 6 is a niggly middle distance where reliance on jockey nouse is key (despite only 3 to beat to place, even Spencer managed to get a selection of mine in a similar race unplaced with only 6 runners!)
With such a long time til the off, the market will guide nearer race time.
710 THIRSK
BETTING FORECAST: 2/1 Aleatricis, 4/1 Sir Royal, 5/1 Woody Waller, 7/1 Masterofceremonies, 8/1 Mister Arjay, 10/1 Inspector Clouseau, 14/1 Border Owl, Valdan, 33/1 Oddsmaker,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: It is hard to get away from the progressive ALEATRICIS, whose reappearance at Beverley was a promising one. He can confirm that form with Sir Royal, who is no doubt better than he showed there.

Another " HARD TO BEAT" selection in the fav here - only 9 runners now 1.43 to place

725 WARWICK - again late non runner reducing field to 7. 1.14 to place but again with race due off in 7+ hours we are likely to see a higher price.
2 horses at 50/1 and 100/1 bring competitive field down to 5, so Multiplication, the jolly, needs to beat 2 to place in the first 3.
Not seen since September 2008, and this is what let Winged Harriet down yesterday who didn't even place at 5/6 in a race which is the carbon copy of Multiplication's. So a warning there.

ONE A DAY
Some new information now and the 255 Nottingham is the one given the probability.Bouvardia 1.21 now to beat 2 to place looks very appealing ( 5 runners and 3 places)
A bit of a risk given the tight head of the market, and Olynard at 6/1 is just waiting to spoil the party and push one of the front 3 out of the places
Still ,2 to beat, one is 20/1 should leave a great chance ,all things being equal and the betting market being accurate.
