18/5

Liverpool scored the 2 goals necessary for over 1.5 goals to come in in a day where place only selections were barren

200 BATH
BETTING FORECAST: 8/11 Radiohead, 9/2 Ragsta, 11/2 Trelawny Wells, 8/1 Boga, 14/1 True Red, 20/1 Ishipink.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: RADIOHEAD, whose trainer has won this race for the last two years, is taken to build on a promising debut at Newmarket. Newcomers Trelawny Wells and Ragsta are from powerful stables in the 2yo department and market support for either would be significant.[SB]

Fav now 2/7 but yet again we see a maiden horse with only one run and yesterday another was unplaced.
Here we have 2 places too and guess who's on Radiohead?
Field is now reduced to 4 runners. 1.14 to win and 1.05 to place. One horse at 25/1 should ensure Radiohead only has one to beat to place.
Surely Frank cannot conspire to get THIS ONE unplaced?

220 NA
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Dais Return, 100/30 Island Flyer, 4/1 Dunkelly Castle, 5/1 Bolton Hall, 12/1 Mic Aubin, Petit Fleur, Philadelphus, 16/1 Francly Flora, 20/1 Diamond Supreme, Tandori, 25/1 Rising Tyde, 50/1 Gonnashine, Monsignor Fred, 66/1 Down River, Greenmoor House.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: ISLAND FLYER has rather lost his way over fences but it may be significant that Tom George is ploughing on regardless with him this spring, which implies a return to form is expected at some time soon. Even on his old hurdles form, Island Flyer will have a real chance returned to the smaller obstacles here but his exploits over fences since suggest he should be capable of better again in this sphere. If he does blow out again, Dunkelly Castle may well be the one to take advantage.[MCu]

With the fav a non runner and originally only 4 horses under 12/1 can we focus now on he new market leaders Bolton Hall and Island Flyer? 1.41 to place the front 2

250 NA
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Hitaaf, 5/2 Share My Dream, 100/30 Lilac, 7/2 Soviet Sceptre, 25/1 Bombardier Wells, 33/1 Missie Geore.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: HITAAF (nap) had excuses to some extent when running just a fair race here last time and on his previous third in a Ludlow claiming hurdle will have fine prospects, that form reading very well in this context - the two in front of him there are useful for that level. Share My Dream may well be next best.[MCu]

With Soviet Sceptre a non runner, surely this should concern the remaining 3 with 2 places to fight for? McCoy on the favourite here but a tight head of the market 1.54, 1.61 ,1.68 the front 3 to place

440 SOUTHWELL
BETTING FORECAST: 11/4 Miss Glitters, 7/1 Ancient Cross, Turfwolke, 8/1 Kingsmaite, 10/1 Elusive Warrior, Lujano, 12/1 Cool Sands, 14/1 Mafasina, 16/1 Bid For Gold, Boss Hog, Danish Art, Montiboli, 20/1 Western Art, 25/1 Marvo.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Most of these have had plenty of chances and the two notable exceptions are Miss Glitters and TURFWOLKE. The former was set plenty to do at Salisbury last time and has to be on the shortlist, but the selection showed promise for John Hills last season, made an encouraging start for her new trainer last time and is by a sire who has a fine record on this surface.[PSm

Price gapper here ,accenuated in the live betting market. This is, though , a competitive handicap and these shorties can blow hot and cold. A neck 2nd last time out is encouraging 1.37 to place

640 WINDSOR
BETTING FORECAST: 1/2 Monsieur Chevalier, 100/30 Archers Road, 13/2 Ailsa Carmel, 14/1 Kirsty´s Boy.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The speedy MONSIEUR CHEVALIER looks Royal Ascot material and should be able to give the weight to the Channon pair Archers Road and Ailsa Carmel.[AC]

Still strong fav and one horse at 14/1 - can we discount this one? If so, then 3 fight for 2 places
2 from 2 thus far, but look at the form of Archers Road! 21122 - he's a good placer!
2 year old race this one and a rise in class for Monsieur 1.14 to place

810 WINDSOR
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Strawberrydaiquiri, 100/30 Flora Trevelyan, 9/2 Candy Ride, 7/1 Piquante, Silk Trail, 14/1 Mission Lodge, 16/1 Red Zoe, 20/1 Silent Oasis, 33/1 Kindest, Polemica, She´s Pivotal, 50/1 Dolores Ortiz, 66/1 Mediterranean Sea, Royal Bloom.

As is the pattern, another with one run ,running encouragingly and immediately pu in as a price gapper and confident in the market. As we have seen, the majority of these 2 year old 2nd timers fail to give their running 1.18 in an illiquid market

920 WOLVES
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Mezzanisi, 7/2 Distinctive Image, 13/2 Rio Guru, 8/1 Jagger, 9/1 Aegean Prince, Wind Flow, 14/1 Teasing, 16/1 Confidentiality, 25/1 Crossbow Creek.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: MEZZANISI has numerous places in his form figures but there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with his attitude and he can deservedly get back on the scoresheet. Distinctive Image and Rio Guru are feared most.[SB]

price gapper who, at this early stage, is confident in the market. Good consistent placed form here-8 runners and 3 places but you know who onboard.
1.31 to place

No football selections today - as you have seen these are great. Look at Chelsea yesterday - easy 1.31 bet far better than a 1.31 place only selection

SHORTLIST
200 BATH - Radiohead to win 1.14 The place price is far too short.
250 NEWTON ABBOTT - All place only prices 1.50 or bigger in this race for those liking a gamble on probability
5 horses
2 are 25/1 or bigger
3 remain at 7/4, 7/4 and 5/2
These 3 simply cannot be split so gamblers may like to chose just one, get the prayer mat out, and hope it finishes in the front 2.
Share my dream - 1.53 to place
Hitaaf - 1.6 to place
Lilac 1.68 to place

640 WINDSOR - are we believe the hype that this one looks "Royal Ascot material"Monsieur Chevalier is the horse and if we can discount Kirstys Boy a 14/1, then Monsieur has 1 to beat to place.
Concern that wins have been in lower class races than today's

ONE A DAY
Gamblers - 250 NEWTON ABBOTT - which of the 3 most likely will be your choice? Will McCoy allow his horse to get beaten by 2 others? Share my dream is 1.53 to place and will give you a good run for your money at least in a race where the 3 market principles cannot be dismissed
Me? I would back him at 1.53 and hope to get out at 1.25 for an equivalent 1.28 bet. The hope is Share My dream will run well and her price will reduce in running. OR you could place a keep bets lay in at 1.33 and secure a 1..20 return, as long as the horse does not fall.

640 WINDSOR - Monsieur Chevalier at 1.14 to place looks like having a good chance, despite only 2 places. Not an ideal bet at all but in a poor day, is he most likely probability

Those of you who have had a bang on the head(like me) may want to get this out of the way with a straight place only back of Radiohead at 1.06. A rubbish price but the probability is that this is a 3 horse race, and this son of Johannesburg should do the job (even win) despite he-who-can-ensure-a-horse-gets-unplaced-in-a-1-horse-race on board
