215 CHEPSTOW
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Ainia, 13/8 Monetary Fund, 5/1 Reportage, 10/1 Stravella, 16/1 Madhal, 25/1 Weekend Away, 33/1 Levitation, 40/1 Improper, Turbo Shandy, 66/1 Gambling Jack, Paul´s Pet, Wivny, 100/1 Almowj, Hilltop Artistry.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: There is a question of whether she might ideally need a bit further nowadays, and whether the ground will suit if it drys out, but AINIA is one of two in this line-up whose form is a long way clear of the others. The other is Monetary Fund but he too might be suited by further and seems not to have held his form so well. Reportage is the obvious candidate for marked improvement among the remainder.[RA]

Reportage is 5/4 fav - significant mover? 1.52 , 1.5 , 1.34 (reportage) the front 3 in the betting forecast to place.

250 CHEPSTOW
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Palacefield, 5/2 Park Lane, 3/1 Luc Jordan, 6/1 Hambledon Hill, 14/1 High Morning, 16/1 Mr Kartoffel, 20/1 Royal Superlative, 33/1 Any Secrets, Monagasque, 50/1 Arab League, 66/1 Hold Fire, 100/1 Hill Of Clare, Jasper Cliff, Lady Meg.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: PALACEFIELD was just headed in the shadow of the post at Thirsk last time and can gain compensation for his in-form yard here. Park Lane and Luca Cumani's potential improver Luc Jordan are the obvious dangers.[DM]

Many maidens today and here's another. palacefield may be of interest with the good 3 places including the all important recent runs, but the first 4 look good and the front 3 in particulur have decent recent placed form. It would be naive to think these 3 will make up 1-2-3 at the finish 1.32 , 1.9 and 1.4 the front 3 to place

315 LEICESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Perfect Silence, 9/2 Filligree, 11/2 Doric Lady, Ocean Transit, 6/1 Mango Music, 13/2 Artistic License, 8/1 Koraleva Tectona, 200/1 Toballa.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: PERFECT SILENCE (nap) is the only one without a previous run this year but she was progressive when turning her hand to sprinting last season and could be open to further improvement this year. Filligree is a possible if the going doesn't soften and if forgiven her reappearance, while speedy Mango Music is weighted to win sooner rather than later and her chances improve with rain.[PJ]

Now 6 runners and hopefully 3 places so another 50/50 race -and we were successful with yesterday's default favourite
The fav here has not had a recent run and the outsider is 9/1 showingthis is ultra competitive - see screenshot above for place only prices and remember it's another 50/50 race- simply pick a horse NOT to get beaten by 3 others

335 CARTMEL
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Knockara Beau, 7/4 No Panic, 10/1 Sotovik, Stop The Show, 14/1 Benny The Piler, 100/1 Feeling Peckish, Tully Hill.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: KNOCKARA BEAU has been keeping top company in novice hurdles and has the potential to be every bit as good in this discipline. The fact he would never have encountered anything quite like this track in the past tempers enthusiasm a little, but he should nevertheless have too much firepower for No Panic.[AWJ]

2 horse race? Only 2 under 10/1
Knockara Beau is a class 1 novice hurdler starting in a class 4 chase and it's very much like a maiden race - short bsed on potential and ZERO chase form
I must say I do like the jockey on him though, a good up and coming and reliable jockey
1.32 and 1.58 to place the front 2

350 LEICESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Absolute Music, 11/4 Reddy To Star, 7/1 Nosedive, 10/1 Prettiest Star, 14/1 Duke Of Rainford, 33/1 Ever So Bold, Flaxen Lake, 50/1 Point To Prove.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The return to 5f should help Reddy To Star but he could have difficulty matching strides with ABSOLUTE MUSIC, who has a good opportunity to fulfil her Ascot debut promise.[FC]

Yet another maiden race here but with 3rd fav a non runner, does this make things easier for the fav - now 1/2 -another who has only had the one run
1.1 to place and 1.31 the 2nd fav to place
420 GOODWOOD
BETTING FORECAST: 11/2 Hypnotist, 6/1 Eastern Empire, Imaam, Laudatory, 7/1 Dalradian, 8/1 George Rex, Star Links, 9/1 Take The Micky, 10/1 Outofoil, 14/1 Yellow Printer, 25/1 Sapphire Prince, 33/1 Baycat.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Most have something to prove and HYPNOTIST is no exception but he's been going the right way on Polytrack and stayed on strongly when going close last time over 7f. Outofoil is considered on pedigree up in trip and William Knight has two interesting representatives in Dalradian and Take the Micky, but in truth there is no shortage of plausible contenders.[RA]

Laudatory is 2/1 fav - quite a move but is it accurate? 1.61 to place

530 BALLINROBE
BETTING FORECAST: 8/13 Pittori, 4/1 Mosstown, 6/1 La Tizona, 8/1 Brazen Beauty, 10/1 Penlova, 14/1 Calle Aneto, Deal Clincher.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: PITTORI, placed in three of his four outings as a two-year-old, will be very hard to beat providing that he has suffered no ill-effects as a result of his comeback race at Gowran less than two weeks ago.

"hard to beat" and strong form but yet again another maiden race and only 2 places , but the Bolger /Manning combo have had a really good start to the season 1.34 to place - illiquid market and on ly 2 places

540 CHEPSTOW
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Dhushan, 13/8 Gibb River, 13/2 Bernie The Bolt, 10/1 Lucy´s Perfect, 16/1 Bedouin Style, 18/1 Lady Oaksey, 20/1 Maskateer, 25/1 Langford Decoit, 33/1 Lily Of The Nile, 40/1 Brave Beat, 50/1 No Sting, 100/1 Aspirational, Highams Park.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Gibb River and DHUSHAN showed decent form behind some useful types last time, but the latter, who holds an entry in the Group 2 King Edward VII at Ascot, may have the greater scope for progress and gets the marginal vote. [DM]

Only 3 under 33/1 and he fav's form is working out extremely well with horses from that race winning -yet again another maiden and has only had one run
This one is odds on and Gibb River is 2nd fav
YET AGAIN, we face the conundrum of which to back to place given the fact they rarely both finish in he first 3 1.13 and 1.19 to place the front 2

18:00 Helsingborg vs Orgryte 1/4
orgryte keep losing and Helsingborg are one of the top Swedish sides. Expectation, judging by results against those at the heaad of the leage, is for a comfortable win
Home team's recent form is very poor but away team's form is even worse -lost all but drew just one

SHORTLIST
215 CHEPSTOW
I might try this dutch here as I cannot split the first 3 and know that with the move for Reportage, this may leave one of the other 2 unplaced.
It is still a risk with maiden races but I hope I have the winner amongst the front 3

250 CHEPSTOW - Palacefield may be worth risking at 1.32 to place here solely based on nose 2nd last time out and another enouraging 2nd place the time before BUT the 3 at the head of the market cannot really be split and in this maiden race there is always the concern that there's dark horses open to considerable improvement

315 LEICESTER - another 50/50 race and I cannot put one forward for this race so early suffice to say the market should help us. It is far too competitive with the outsiders only 10/1! Still if we can nail one horse here who will NOT get beaten by 3 of the others , we will profit

335 CARTMEL - knockara beau has been running in class 1 hurdles and at 1.32 may be worht a risk BUT as is the theme today, this is a beginners chase and the clue is in the title

350 LEIC - Absolute magic 1.1 to place -4 horses have only had one run ( including the fav) and are thus open to improvement but is it really responsible or wise to take 1.1 about a 2 year old who has only had one run in a 5 furlong maiden? Positives - 8 down to 7 runners - backed into 1/2

540 CHEPSTOW
DUTCH perhaps? A race which should revolve around the front 2 and by default I would opt for the short priced fav to place

ONE A DAY - I'm afraid Ican't find a rock solid place only selection today as there are a lot of top heavy markets where the front 2 or 3 rarely all finish i the places, so we have the conundrum of which one to place back. I hope I have given you some shortlisted races for you to make a choice, but I am going to play it by ear and go race by race myself.
NO OFFICIAL BET TODAY FOR ME -too many maiden races but my focus will be on the shortlisted races and the hope something unfurls itself there.
