4/5

The one a day selection was Liverpool yesterday and was never in doubt.
The 2 sure thing horses obliged, and the risk Rainbow View was unplaced, but profit was already made on Liverpool. THE ONE A DAY PHILOSOPHY - you just have to get one right per day

200 CURRAGH
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Alfred Nobel, 5/2 Mister Tee, 5/1 Flyjack, 6/1 Clashnacree, Montecchio, 8/1 Rockymountainhigh, 10/1 Atasari, 12/1 Whipitydooda, 14/1 Bobbyscot, 25/1 Money Trader, 33/1 Raging Spirit, 50/1 No Acting, 66/1 Rio´Ll Chancer.

Alfred Nobel for Ballydoyle is a strong fav and as a run under his belt but heavy ground for a 2 year old leaves a question mark 1.28 to place

220 BEVERLEY
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Sloop Johnb, 4/1 Red Rosanna, 11/2 La Capriosa, 13/2 Rocket Rob, 9/1 Dispol Grand, Kheylide, 12/1 Wotatomboy.

Price gapper in a class 5 0-75 handicap, but the outsider at only 12/1 tells you this is competitive 1.58 and 2 places

230 CURRAGH
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Vocalised, 3/1 Chief Lone Eagle, 4/1 Firey Red, 7/1 What´s Up Pussycat, 10/1 Ohiyesa, 12/1 Count John, Lastkingofscotland, 25/1 Three Way Stretch, 33/1 Little Arrows.

A group 3 in heavy ground seems to revolve around the front 2 with Firey red a non runner 1.13 and 1.49 the front 2

300 CURRAGH
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Mad About You, 9/4 Maoineach, 7/1 Kalidaha, 10/1 Patio, Pollen, 12/1 Emily Blake, Russian Empress, 14/1 Choose Me, Girouette.

Front 2 set to dominate or will heavy ground be a leveller? 1.2 to place

320 DOWNROYAL
BETTING FORECAST: 4/7 Persian City, 11/4 Clarkey, 6/1 Mighty Massini, 8/1 Scolboa Music Man, 12/1 Flamenco Prince, Rossgavand, 14/1 Royal Debs, 20/1 Fool´s Wildcat, Gastounette, Queen Court, The Machine Levene, 25/1 Brave´N´Small, 33/1 Digger Barnes, Energiser, Killy Fryer.

strong fav for walsh and mullins here but 2 mile 6 to contend with and a maiden hurdle and big field 1.2 to place

340 WARWICK
BETTING FORECAST: 4/1 Glen Molly, 9/2 Maxwell Hawke, 6/1 Desire To Excel, 7/1 My Kingdom, 9/1 Fesko, 10/1 Victoria Sponge, 12/1 Suruor, Trip Switch, 14/1 Asian Tale, Frank Street, 16/1 Thunderball, 20/1 Versaki, 33/1 Viking Awake.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: There are positives about quite a few of these, unsurprisingly given the early stage of their 3yo careers, but GLEN MOLLY is taken to make a winning return from her lengthy absence by scuppering the more recent winning promise shown by Maxwell Hawke and Desire to Excel. Trip Switch may have most potential among the rest.[RA]

2nd and 3rd favs are now out - does this open the door to Glen Molly despite the absence? 1.55 to place is surprisingly big for a horse 2.52 to win - explanation?-261 days since its last run

430 KEMP
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Forgotten Voice, 9/2 Dubai Dynamo, 6/1 Multakka, The Fifth Member, 8/1 Pride Of Nation, 10/1 The Snatcher, 12/1 Dichoh, 14/1 Tourist, 16/1 Mr Hichens, 50/1 Bold Alaska.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: FORGOTTEN VOICE (nap) overcame a long absence when cosily winning a C&D handicap last month and looks capable of shrugging off an 8lb rise here. The main dangers are Dubai Dynamo, The Fifth Member and Multakka. [DM]

Odds on across the board in this 10 runner handicap. 1.22 to place

440 LIMERICK
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Splurge, 5/1 Carrigeen King, 6/1 Askthemaster, 8/1 See Double You, 10/1 Nashi, 12/1 Cayo Levantado, Tryptronic, 14/1 Arkendale, Meet The Parents, 16/1 Balsaflour, Perpetuum, 20/1 Barna Bay, Grianan, Premier Hero, 25/1 Ard Agus Fada, 50/1 Borobrook,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A hurdle rating of 127 would entitle a horse to win many a beginners chase, and SPLURGE probably wouldn't have many better opportunities than this ordinary looking contest. A very consistent handicap hurdler this season, which was highlighted by his close fourth to Penny's Bill in the Pierse Hurdle, he also chased home the top-class Fiveforthree in a conditions hurdle at Wexford before readily landing an ordinary Flat maiden here last month. An adequate round of jumping should be enough to see him score in this contest.\n

Quite a hurdle rating for Splurge - beginners chase though and Askthemasteris 3/1 shortening the price gap in the live market 1.36 in an illiqid market

445 NEWC
BETTING FORECAST: 4/7 Taarab, 3/1 African Cheetah, 11/2 Jenny Potts, 25/1 Aldaado, Rogalt, 33/1 Eborbrav, Johnny Rocket, 66/1 Bumble Rose, Napoletano.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: TAARAB, who holds Derby and King Edward VII entries, shaped really well on soft ground on his only 2yo start and that form sets the standard. With an easy surface no concern and the step up in trip sure to suit, he's difficult to oppose.[SB]

3rd fav a non runner leaves this concerning the front 2 surely? Only horses under 16/1 in this maiden 1.11 the front 2 to place

FOOTBALL
17:00 Cork City vs Wexford Youths 1/5
18:00 OB Odense vs AGF Arhus 4/11
19:45 Bohemians vs Shelbourne 4/11

SHORTLIST
230 CURRAGH - Vocalised is 1.13 to place and looks solid for the inform Bolger/Manning combo.Heavy ground the concern
300 CURRAGH - Mad about you at 1.2 represents Weld/Smullen combo in this Group3 race - again heavy ground is the concern here. A consistent winner who should be competitive at the business end if handling heavy
340 WARWICK - with the absence of the front 2, Glen Molly takes on the mantle of short priced fav at 11/8 for the dependable Hills combo. BUT why is this 11/8 not reflected in the place only market? 1.45 is best priced place only on this one. Yes the absence to overcome of 261 days but a 2nd place and a win and a hope the horse retains ability - we saw with Rainbow view that ring rustiness can lead to a horse getting unplaced
430 KEMP - Forgotten voice - 1.22 price is what appeals - what desn't appeal is the handicap status of this race but a course and distance winner who has 2 from 2 thus far. Has a run already in him this season and at the price one of the more likelier selections today (although the more SOLID selections are at much lower prices)
445 NEWC - and so to those more SOLID selections - both priced at 1.11 to place - tgh, his is a maiden race and the fav has only had the one run but he's a Godolphin horse under Saleem Golam. Either of these front 2 should place though, Taarab or african Cheetah

ONE A DAY
The solid one a day is the last race, the 445 Newcastle, with the absence of the 3rd favourite from the race, this accentuates the price gap between 2 market leaders and next in field considerably.
8/13 and 13/8 the front 2, now 1.08 and 1.11 to place, the only niggle is the maiden status of this race and the fact the fav has only had one runTaarab would be my selection here

If you fancy a better price, I think the 430 Kempton, Forgotten voice should certainly be competitive if upholding the form of last race. 1.22 is a better price of course and 3 places -now odds on shot across the boards really signifies market confidence and punter confidence in this horse winning ( and thus placing)
Odds on shots in handicaps, it mus be said, can disappoint because of the inherent competitive nature of the race type,
I think Forgotten voice is worth a punt at 1.22 despite not being the standout bet of the day( that goes to the 445 Newcastle for reasons already mentioned).
