These 2 meet regularly it seems in the Premier League and Rangers have lost just once, in January 2011 at Hearts. Rangers have won the last 3 fixtures at Ibrox.

LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 3rd and Rangers simply must take advantage of Celtic's loss to Inverness otherwise that loss is in vein. Hearts are 3rd, but some 20 points off Celtic and Rangers which tells you about the gulf. Must win for Rangers and nothing to play for for Hearts.

HOME TEAM RANGERS

RANGERS RECENT HOME FORM - LWWWWWWLWD - looking at the losses, they occured against Celtic and Dundee United ( 2-3 and true colours in the corresponding fixture saw a 4 goals Rangers win) = draw with Celtic and beat Hearts 1-0 at home this season.

RANGERS RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWWLWWWLWWWWWDW - Celtic, Hearts, Celtic, Dundee United, Celtic the teams where Rangers have dropped points.

RANGERS GOAL TRENDS - 65% over 2.5 goals at home.47% clean sheets at home - nearly 1 in 2 .

Average 2.17 goals at home. 3 of the last 4 matches have been over 2.5 goals. Rangers have kept clean sheets in 6 of the last 7 matches and 13 of the last 18 matches ( a similar stat did not stop Celtic crashing and burning) Rangers have only failed to score in 5 matches this season, 3 of them against Celtic.

RANGERS STREAKS - 2 at home without defeat. 7 overall without defeat.3 clean sheets overall in a row.

AWAY TEAM - HEARTS

HEARTS RECENT AWAY FORM - WWLLWDLDDD - 4 draws in last 5 away matches. But have lost all 3 matches against the top 4 away from home.1-0 Rangers, 4-0 Celtic and 2-0 Dundee United - are the top 4 a bridge too far away from home.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WLWWDLLWDDDDD - 5 draws on the trot and 4 of those score draws which hints at over 1.5 goals to cover any potential shocks a la Caley v Celtic.

GOAL TRENDS -

47% over 2.5 goals away from home. 41% clean sheets away from home is quite a big stat. 4 of last 6 matches over 2.5 goals. Only 1 clean sheet in the last 8 matches. Have failed to score in 4 of last 9 and have failed to score away to top 3 sides.

STREAKS - drawn last 3 away and drawn last 5 overall. No defeat in 6 overall. Lost all away against top 4 without scoring.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - we must account for the time of the season and nerves playing a part which must have been the case for Celtic. On rangers backers sides is the following - Hearts have lost away to top 4 and not scored. Rangers have kept a cleansheet in 6 of their last 7 matches so have the potential to shut out Hearts again. On recent form, 4 of last 6 overs for Hearts and 3 of last 4 overs for Rangers, a goals trade looks obvious but then the head to heads are cagey affairs. 2 1-0 wins in last 2 head to heads hint at the tight match . Rangers have prevailed at home in 3 of last 4, the other a 1-1.

1-1 scoreline may pick up any surprise Hearts goal and allow a slight trade? These matches can, though be difficult to read as the Celtic and Cardiff matches showed as we break into May. Perhaps research the other matches and select a more straightforward match?

2pm - Atalanta v Portogruaro - 1.39 home

HEAD TO HEADS

Sat04/12/10SEBPortosummaga1 - 2Atalanta

Portosummagga are also Portogruaro .Newcomers to Seria B , they are struggling.

LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 20th -must wins for both sides here for differing reasons of course. The market makers have dispensed with the odds on draws now. A win takes Atalanta top for a short while.

HOME TEAM - ATALANTA

ATALANTA RECENT HOME FORM - WLWWDWDWDWWL - only lost 2 all season, and one was in the last home game. Against bottom 11, Atalanta have won the lot bar a 0-0 draw against Frosinone which was the 3rd match of the season and perhaps unrepresentative of Frosinone's true capabilities.

ATALANTA RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWDDWWDDWDWWLDL - is the pressure beginning to tell with those last 3 matches , all 9th, 10th and 11th in the league?

ATALANTA GOAL TRENDS - 37% over 2.5 goals at home. 58% clean sheets at home is quite something.Scored 30, conceded 10 at home this season. Last 5 matches over 2.5 goals. 6 of last 7 over 2.5 goals, the exception was 1-1.HAve conceded in all of last 4. Have scored in all of last 11 matches. Have scored 2,3,3,4,0 against bottom 6 at home. General trend towards 2 goals minimum at home for , as I have mentioned, the 0-0 with Frosinone was erroneous it would seem.

ATALANTA STREAKS - 3 at home without a draw.3 without a win overall.

AWAY TEAM - PORTOS

PORTOS RECENT AWAY FORM - WLDLWLW - last 2 wins both 2-1 and one was against top side Siena. Due warning therefore that Portos are battling to stay up. 4 wins away all season and 2 of them have come in the last 3 away matches . Against top 8 away, beat Siena 2-1, drew 0-0 away at Novaro ( 3rd) and lost against 4th - 8th inclusive, posting 2 1-0 losses against 4th and 5th.

PORTOS RECENT OVERALL FORM - WLLDDLWWDLLWL - last 2 wins away wins but the usual form surrounds. Which is most typical of Portos? 5 of last 7 scorelines have been 2-1 ( wins and losses) The exceptions were 1-1 and 3-1

PORTOS GOAL TRENDS - 42% over 2.5 goals away from home. Have failed to score in 47% of matches away. Have conceded in last 9 matches. Have scored in all of last 7, hinting perhaps for a 1-1? Last 4 matches over 2.5 goals. 6 of last 7 matches over 2.5 goals.

PORTOS STREAKS - 4 without a draw away from home.1 match winning streak away and that was the top side!!!

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS 37% and 42% over 2.5 goals stats signals this may be one of those Italian scorelines. I am taken by Atalanta's winning performance against bottom 7, with the Frosinone 0-0 an early season blip and not representative. Atalanta should be able to score at least 2 today as they have done against bottom sides at home. Porto's inability to score in 47% of away matches is nearly one in 2. The 1-1 seems to beckon as being tradeable and covering any Portos early goal. The stats tell us this is an unders match which might eventually sneak to over 2.5 goals by the end of the match.

0-0 perhaps worth backing for a short while if Portos can remain as tight as their 1-0 defeats to 4th and 5th.

6 of last 7 matches for both sides have been over 2.5 goals.

LEAGUE POSITION

18th v 3rd. Bayern gain and lose little with a win here , albeit they could threaten 2nd place. St Pauli are bottom and a win keeps them bottom on goal difference.

HOME TEAM - ST PAULI

ST PAULI RECENT HOME FORM - LDWWLLLL - Jan and Feb was full of promise but it's all gone wrong as St Pauli seem to have been " found out" in this league. Have lost all 4 so far at home to top 5 sides, but note 2 1-0 losses against 2nd and 4th. Both goals were 80+ minute losers. But can St Pauli keep a rampant Bayern at bay?

ST PAULI RECENT FORM OVERALL - LLLLLLLDLL - says it all really about why a promising position at the start of the year has become rock bottom now.

ST PAULI GOAL TRENDS - 56% over 2.5 goals at home. 6 of the last 8 matches over 2.5 goals . Have conceded 2 minimum in last 8 matches, Have conceded in all of their last 10 matches. Have scored in 4 of last 7. Concede by far the most goals in the last 1/4 hour as those 2 1-0 losses against top 4 at home attest.

STREAKS - 6 at home without a draw 4 match home losing streak. 10 matches overall without a win.

AWAY TEAM - BAYERN

BAYERN RECENT AWAY FORM - WDWLWLWDD- last 2 draws 1-1. Against bottom 4, drawn 1-1, 1-1, 3-3

BAYERN RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWLLWWWDWDW - fine recent form given a lack of incentive since the loss to Dortmund ended title hopes. Both draws have been away - 1-1

BAYERN GOAL TRENDS - 50/50 over 2.5 goals so could go either way. Only 2 of last 5 matches over 2.5 goals. Prior to those 5 matches, Bayern had 9 on the trot over 2.5 goals. Bayern have conceded in 15 of their 16 away matches. Bayern have scored in last 17 matches

BAYERN STREAKS - 3 away without defeat, drawn last 2 1-1. Drawn against bottom 4 sides including 2 1-1's and a 3-3. No defeat in 7 overall.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - beware the ides of May and remember Cardiff and Celtic. Immediately the 1-1 recurs throughout this research for Bayern - last 2 draws away are 1-1's - draws against 2 of bottom 3 were 1-1's.

But 4 losses on the trot at home for St Pauli, and they have lost to all of top 5 they have played ( but note the 2 1-0's) 6 of last 8 matches for st pauli over 2.5 goals and they have conceded 2 minimum in their last 8 matches, which, if it continues, signals over 2.5 goals. Over 1.5 goals looks natural though . This could surprise given desparation of home team . Form says Bayern all day and by a scoreline which would signal over 2.5 goals.

Plenty of head to heads as this is a league of only 10 teams. Goals goals goals punctuated by 3 1-0 scorelines in the middle and Linz winning a league match 4-0 and 1-0, then normal service suddenly returns recently. Over familiarity in such a small league? Austria Vienna have scored 4 in their last 3 matches.

LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 10th - must win for Austria wien.Linz look a little too far adrift for a recovery on 18 points with next best 26. Another TOP V BOTTOM affair.

HOME TEAM -

RECENT HOME FORM - AUSTRIA WIEN - WDWLWWDLWL - a little inconsistent of late with recent 1-0 losses to 6th and 9th instilling zero confidence!

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWDWLDWDLDL - no win in last 4 and will need to rely on head to heads against bottom side I feel.

GOAL TRENDS - 40% over 2.5 goals at home.Clean sheets in 33% of matches and have failed to score in 40% of home matches - and they're 2nd in the league!! It's worse than the SPL!! 5 of last 7 matches under 2.5 goals.

STREAKS - 3 at home without a draw

AWAY TEAM - LINZ

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLLLDLDDWD - win was a 1-0 and the only win away this season. Have drawn 3 of last 4 matches - 3 of the 4 were score draws.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLLLDLDDWLDD - only one loss in last 5 is not the form of bottom side, but I suppose too many draws.

GOAL TRENDS - 47% over 2.5 goals and have failed to score in 53% of away matches. 7 of last 8 matches under 2.5 goals.

STREAKS - 4 away without defeat.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - this is a match to put at the bottom of the pile I feel. How much do we read into Vienna's ability to score 4 goals in each of the last 3 head to heads? Vienna's recent form is poor, Linz's recent form is not bad. I do not like these 10 team leagues as the form and stats involves multiple matches against the same sides and skews the stats somewhat. A throwaway lay of the home team perhaps ( although not with usual stakes) as they are extremely short.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS

5pm - Palermo v Bari - 1.48 home
Only 3 matches of recent relevance and 2 1-1 draws sandwich a 4-2 Bari Win, or in other words, bari are undefeated in their last 3 head to heads.

LEAGUE POSITION - 8th v 20th and a feeling there is little to play for between these 2. Palermo are safe and cannot realistically get anywhere near a European place ( 9 points adrift). Bari are set adrift at the bottom on 21 points with next best on 31 points.

HOME TEAM -PALERMO

PALERMO RECENT HOME FORM - WWWWLLWDW - losses recently against Udinese and Fiorentina saw Palermo concede 4 and 7 goals in those 2 matches alone. At home to bottom 8, Palermo have scored 3,3,4,2,3,2,1 - so generally favour goals. They have, though, drawn 2 matches 2-2 but this may not occur against a Bari side averaging 0.59 goals scored per away match.,

PALERMO RECENT FORM OVERALL - LLLLLWLDWWL - last 5 matches over 2.5 goals Last 4 losses have come away from home.

PALERMO GOAL TRENDS - average 1.76 scored and 1.41 conceded at home.5 clean sheets in 10 home matches. 71% over 2.5 goals at home - last 5 matches have been over 2.5 goals.Have conceded in 13 of last 14 matches. Have scored 2 goals in 3 of last 4 matches.

PALERMO STREAKS - 3 home without a loss.

AWAY TEAM - BARI

BARI RECENT AWAY FORM - LLWLLLLLDWL - recent win against Parma came care of a 92nd minute winner . WIn prior to that was a 78th minute 1-0 win v Lecce. 3 1-0's in the last 5 matches, all losses, signal a Bari team still willing to stick it up 'em despite being down.

BARI RECENT OVERALL FORM - LDLDLDLWDLLL - 2 of last 3 losses 1-0's again and most recent loss a spirited 3-2 which saw a 95th minute Roma winner. When you're out of luck, you're out of luck!

BARI GOAL TRENDS - 0.59 goals scored on average away from home is probably the reason Palermo are favs.

BARI STREAKS - 4 overall without a win - 3 lost in a row overall albeit tight matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Palermo's ability to score 2 in 3 of their last 4, and generally score 2 or more against bottom sides at home augurs well against a side who score an average 0.54 goals per away match. This, of course is the form talking and does not account for the relative worthlessness of this fixture to both sides.

5pm - Rayo Vallecano v Salamanca - 1.45 home
Now that is tight in this Spanish segunda match.

LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd play 19th and this is an ultra important match for both. Rayo Vallecano are on 72 points, the same as top side Betis, only they have inferior goal difference. Salamanca are in 19th - a win will keep them 19th but give them a chance of breaking out of the bottom 4 ( I think the bottom 4 are involved in some kind of a playoff?)

HOME TEAM - RAYO

RAYO RECENT HOME FORM - WWWLWWDWDWDW - recent sequence should signal a D today? Only loss recently against 3rd placed Celta after Rayo led 1-0 up to half time. Against bottom 5 sides at home, Rayo have drawn 1-1 and 3-3 with 18th and 20th and beaten 21st and 22nd 1-0 and 3-1, so they should not lose.

RAYO RECENT FORM OVERALL - DLWWDDWDDWWW - all of the draws score draws.

RAYO GOAL TRENDS - average 2.12 goals scored at home per match and 1.08 conceded - 53% over 2.5 goals at home. Have kept clean sheets in 53% of home matches. 3 of last 5 matches over 2.5 goals. Have kept a clean sheet in 2 of last 3 matches.Have failed to score in only 3 matches all season, all before 1st November 2010. Against bottom 10, have scored 4,3,4,3,2,1,3,1,3. Fairly consistent and an average of 2.4 goals per match.

RAYO STREAKS - 8 home matches without defeat.10 matches overall without defeat.

AWAY TEAM - SALAMANCA

SALAMANCA RECENT AWAY FORM - DLLLLLLLWLLL - win was against 6th placed Granada 1-0. 4 of the recent losses have been 1-0's. Have lost 3 away matches against top 4, but 1-0 v top and 1-0 v 3rd . Other scorelines include 1-0 win against 6th placed Granada, and 1-0 losses to 7th and 8th. The anomolous scoreline was a 3-1 loss to Elche.

SALAMANCA RECENT OVERALL FORM - DLWWLLLLDLWW - recent wins have come at home against 12th and 4th - the latter match a 5-4 humdinger. These recent performances against 6th place and 4th place - dare we read anything into them? Have played 15 matches home and away against top 10 and there have been 3 wins and 12 defeats. NO DRAWS!!

SALAMANCA GOAL TRENDS - 33% over 2.5 goals away from home.Have failed to score in 44% of away matches. Average 0.77 goals per match. 4 of last 6 matches over 2.5 goals. 7 of last 8 matches they have conceded.Have scored in all of last 4.Against top 8 away from home, 4 1-0 losses, a 1-0 win and the anomolous 3-1 defeat.

SALAMANCA STREAKS - 11 away matches without a draw.2 match winning streak overall.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - what immediately grabs me is the 1-0 losses and 1-0 win against top 8 sides away from home. Coincidence or a concerted defensive display from Salamanca? Will this stop Rayo from reaching that 2.4 goal average they have managed at home against bottom 10 sides. MIXED MESSAGES I think here as regards a goals bet. REmember we want to see congruency. SALAMANCA - 11 away without a draw, and no draws in 15 matches against the top 10 sides home and away an angle in?

LEAGUE POSITION 3rd v 12th. Even with Real Madrid imploding, there is no way Valencia can improve on 3rd place. Sociedad I feel have reached the 41 points which signals safety although 3rd from bottom is on 37 points. I suppose the incentive is that Villareal are 3 points behind and ready to pounce.

HOME TEAM - VALENCIA

VALENCIA RECENT HOME FORM - DWWWWDLLWL - recent losses at home were 1-0 Barca, 1-0 Sevilla, and 3-6 loss to Real Madrid and at hint that Valencia are more than capable outside the top 5. - have won 7 and drawn 2 at home to bottom 9 ( Sociedad are 10th from bottom)

VALENCIA RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWLWLLWWWLL - last draw some 10 matches ago

VALENCIA GOAL TRENDS - 47% over 2.5 goals at home.35% clean sheets at home. 6 of last 8 matches over 2.5 goals. Have scored 5 and 3 in last 2 home matches, and 4,5,3,3 in last 4 matches prior to 1-0 reversal v Osasuna.

VALENCIA STREAKS - 10 games without a draw overall. 4 matches without a draw at home.

AWAY TEAM - SOCIEDAD

SOCIEDAD RECENT AWAY FORM - LWLLWLLLLLLL - not a draw in sight lately. Interestingly, the last 12 away matches have been over 2,5 goals and half of those over 3.5 goals.

SOCIEDAD RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWLDLLLLLWLW - superb recent home win against Barcelona perhaps a shot across the bow for a potentially complacent Valencia. Last 6 matches have been over 2.5 goals.

SOCIEDAD GOAL TRENDS - 94% over 2.5 goals away from home.Last 6 matches over 2.5 goals. Have conceded in all of last 10 matches. Have scored in 17 of last 19 matches.

SOCIEDAD STREAKS - 8 games without a draw overall. 7 away matches without a win. Have lost last 7 away matches. No draw in 17 away matches. Have lost all 7 matches away to top 9 conceding 5,4,2,3,2,3,1

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - WOW! 94% over 2.5 goals away from home for Sociedad deserves utmost respect. Even the cautious could hope for an over 1.5 goal success at least? 6 out of Valencia's last 8 matches have been over 2.5 goals and prior to a 1-0 loss to Osasuna, Valencia scored 4,5,3,3 . Add to this the fact that Sociedad have conceded 5,4,2,3,2,3,1 against top 9 away from home and we have, BASED ON FORM, a solid goals bet. I emphasise " based on form" because Sociedad seem to be safe now.

530pm - Tottenham v Blackpool - 1.33 home
LEAGUE POSITION - 6th v 17th Level with Liverpool but a game in hand - is the race for 4th still on? It will rely on City fluffing their lines. As to Blackpool, well they are level on points with Wigan but are 4th by dint of the fact they have scored 1 goal more. A win is si

HOME TEAM -SPURS

SPURS RECENT HOME FORM - DWWDWDWDD - last 2 draws have had 6 and 4 goals. Against bottom 5, Spurs have beaten Blackburn at home, lost 1-0 to Wigan, beaten Wolves 3-1, and 0-0 v West Ham. Have only lost 1 match at home all season.

SPURS RECENT FORM OVERALL -WWWLDDDWDDL - the draws have blown 4th place I feel Last win was a 3-2 home win against Stoke.

SPURS GOAL TRENDS - 47% over 2.5 goals at home. 29% clean sheets at home is pushing for 1/3rd of matches Last 4 matches over 2.5 goals. 3,3,2,1 scored by Spurs.

SPURS STREAKS - 15 at home without defeat. 2 match current drawing streak at home. 3 matches since a win overall.

AWAY TEAM - BLACKPOOL

BLACKPOOL RECENT AWAY FORM - LDDWWLLLLDL - it looked so promising for Blackpool but their cavalier attitude has backfired of late, or they have just been " found out" in this league. Away to top 6, Blackpool have lost 4-0 to Chelsea, 6-0 to Arsenal, 1-0 to Man City, and beat a backfiring Liverpool 2-1 ( erroneous result given circumstances) They also lost 5-3 to 7th placed Everton.Blackpool have conceded 70 goals overall and 36 away from home.

BLACKPOOL RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLDWLLDLLLDD - last win was, wait for it, a 3-1 home win over Spurs but they were lucky to hold on in that match and are a different ( i.e. poorer) proposition away from home..

BLACKPOOL GOAL TRENDS - 65% away matches over 2.5 goals. 74% overall average over 2.5 goals stat largely boosted by home form. 14 of last 17 matches over 2.5 goals. Out of character 1-1 and 0-0 last 2 matches. Blackpool have conceded 3,5,4,2,3 in their last 5 away matches.

BLACKPOOL STREAKS - no win in 8 overall, and 6 away from home.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - the 0-0 last week I am sure caught you and me out in our search for goals. The reason? Well Stoke's season was over, they were missing 2 key forwards and Blackpool generally rely on opponents to bring in the over 2.5 goals. Well, Spurs season, I venture, is not over yet . Dare I say that today looks like goals. Blackpool have conceded 3,5,4,2,3 in their last 5 away. Spurs have scored 3,3,2,1 in their last 4 matches. Blackpool must win which should help matters. I would relegate this match if there are stronger candidates with the same kick off time. Enhanced bettors take note if Blackpool score first. I suspect they will concede.

400 ASCOT

BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 North Star Boy, 5/2 Bayleyf, 7/1 Dissent, 7/1 St Barths, 11/1 Liebesziel, 12/1 Charles The Great, 16/1 Caledonian Spring, 25/1 Lethal Force.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: NORTH STAR BOY, a close debut second, can go one better if there's no flying newcomer around, with Dissent and St Barths perhaps the most likely to fall into that category.[Paul Johnson]

8 runners and 3 places and a Hannon/Ryan Moore favourite. Only the one run though in a race today full of debutants and over 5 furlongs.

200 HAYDOCK

BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Redford, 4/1 Beacon Lodge, 11/2 Kakatosi, 13/2 Duff, 13/2 Lovelace, 12/1 Dunelight, 14/1Folly Bridge.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: There is a bit of a question for him to answer on fast ground but REDFORD is the one to beat on form since last summer. It could be rather tougher this time round for his stablemate Lovelace who won this last year.[Richard Austen]

Another 8 runner race and 3 places although only 7 horses mentioned in the betting forecast. Redford hints at being a price gapper.

520 HAYDOCK

BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Bourne, 6/1 The Only Key, 7/1 Tartan Gunna, 8/1 Leader Of The Land, 9/1 Azimuth, 10/1Lord Raglan, 10/1 Porgy, 12/1 Onyx Of Arabia, 25/1 Quanah Parker.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: With varied doubts over so many of the field, this looks a great opportunity for BOURNE (nap) to build on the promise he showed in a much stronger race at Newbury on his reapearance. The Only Key is next on the list.[Richard Austen]

Another price gapper - 9 runner race.

215 HEXHAM

BETTING FORECAST: 1/2 Sara´s Smile, 2/1 Gin Cobbler, 16/1 Knockaveen, 33/1 Forrest Lemons, 33/1 Fred Grass, 66/1 Last Chorus.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Sara's Smile should win if she behaves herself but she has shown herself a dodgy betting proposition on her last two starts and there is always the possibility she will present victory to GIN COBBLER.[Paul Johnson]

Only 2 under 16/1 in the betting forecast for 2 places.

530 HEXHAM

BETTING FORECAST: Evs No Planning, 13/8 The Weatherman, 10/1 Darnborough, 10/1 George My Friend, 20/1 Little Missmoffatt, 66/1 Now Then Sam.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The Weatherman, a half-brother to one who made a winning bumper debut for the stable last year, will have to be above average to prevent NO PLANNING fulfilling his considerable debut promise.[Paul Johnson]

"considerable debut promise" enough to make No Planning a place only bet here in this bumper ( market watch required)

420 LINGFIELD

BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Audacious, 7/4 Laashak, 10/1 Sciampin, 33/1 Notabadlad, 50/1 Kindlelight Soleil.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Sir Michael Stoute holds a strong hand with AUDACIOUS and Laashak. The former, who ran so well in a hot Doncaster maiden on his second start, can make a winning return to action over a trip that should suit him well.[Paul Smith]

A 3 horse race at a stretch but surely the front 2 can dominate - there are no obstacles to make a mistake over.

225 NOTTS

BETTING FORECAST: Evs Redvers, 2/1 Circuitous, 8/1 Dickie´s Lad, 10/1 Waterbury Girl, 16/1 Abadejo, 33/1 Crabbies Ginger, 50/1 Lucky Cap, 50/1 Zagalinis Speech.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Waterbury Girl was green on her debut and could well do better for a yard that's saddled a couple of winners the past few days. Ultimately, though, this probably boils down to CIRCUITOUS and Redvers.[Graham Wheldon]

8 runners and 3 places, but another maiden race. Redvers has had 3 runs and horses with experience in maidens are usually worthy of some interest.#

230 PUNCHESTOWN

BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Sizing Australia, 11/2 Zest For Life, 6/1 Freneys Well, 6/1 Theroadtocroker, 13/2 Wedger Pardy, 10/1 Burnt Oil Babe, 12/1 Nuvelli, 16/1 Kusadasi, 16/1 Loch Na Beaste, 16/1 Pocket Reader, 20/1 Mount Sion, 20/1 O Crotaigh, 40/1 Seisdon Honour, 50/1 The Speedy Man, 66/1 Avelian.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: An experienced competitor over the Cheltenham course SIZING AUSTRALIA should have the measure of these rivals, especially since the Bolger squad looks vulnerable for once. [Alan Sweetman]

Sizing Australia is a familiar name in these chase races, always playing second fiddle to a Bolger horse. Zest For Life was a faller for Bolger 4 days ago and could be the dark horse.

SHORTLIST

2pm - Atalanta v Portogruaro - 1.39 home - Atalanta look motivated and have proven themselves at home to bottom sides. Potential for a 1-1 or draw, but they could score 2 as they have done against bottom sides.

230pm - St Pauli v B Munich - 1.24 away - over 1.5 goals looks a real goer here as St Pauli have consistently conceded 2 recently. 1.14 over 1.5 goals gives nothing away.

5pm - Valencia v Sociedad - 1.5 home - 94% over 2.5 goals away from home for Sociedad is an amazing stat . For Valencia, 6 of last 8 matches over 2.5 goals. Have scored 5 and 3 in last 2 home matches, and 4,5,3,3 in last 4 matches prior to 1-0 reversal v Osasuna. Sociedad have lost all 7 matches away to top 9 conceding 5,4,2,3,2,3,1 - 1.18 over 1.5 goals has a great chance if this match is not a dead rubber ( valencia still need to keep 4th placed Villareal at bay)

530pm - Tottenham v Blackpool - 1.33 home - 1.16 over 1.5 goals is an obvious bet here. Faith in Spurs to win as they should against a team who have conceded 3,5,4,2,3 in their last 5 matches away.

3pm - Bolton v Sunderland - 1.78 home - I have not done research here but with the injury list hoisted upon Sunderland, surely Bolton's odds today represent extreme value. I would , though prefer to trade this price if Bolton take the lead.

520 HAYDOCK - Bourne looks a similar kinfd of price gapper to yesterday and is 1.22 to place, with next best 2 in the place market.

230 PUNCHESTOWN - Sizing Australia has an outstanding chance of finishing in the first 3 with a clear round. Around 1,.26 but very illiquid.

SHORTLIST OF THE SHORTLIST

5pm - Valencia v Real Sociedad - over 1.5 goals at 1.18 looks standout here if the form is more reliant than the fact Sociedad may not have much to play for.

3pm - Bolton v Sunderland - Sunderland are definitely layable it would seem today and Bolton's price looks huge.at 1.77 for speculators today.

520 HAYDOCK - an archetypal price gapper both in the live betting and place only market, this Bourne should place at 1.22 to place.
