24/9

Yes Rangers let me down v falkirk in the cup, but away in the league they are a different proposition. I expect an easy win and at the prices this looks value.

*****1245pm - Dunfermline v Rangers 0- back Rangers in the match odds at 1.38*****

1245pm - -Dunfermline v Rangers - 1.38 away
HEAD TO HEADS
21.09.2010 LC Glasgow Rangers 7-2 Dunfermline
21.01.2007 PR Dunfermline 0-1 Glasgow Rangers
07.01.2007 Cup Dunfermline 3-2 Glasgow Rangers

LEAGUE POSITION - 7th v 1st after 7 matches

HOME TEAM - Dunfermline

RECENT HOME FORM - DDLD - all over 2.5 goals - Dunfermline have scored 3-2-2 in their last 3 matches at home. The 3 draws have all occured against current 9th, 11th and 12th.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DDWWLLD - perfect sequences - a draw would continue the sequence.0-1 away wins v 6th and 8th.

GOAL TRENDS - 75% overs at home but remember only 4 matches played. Last 3 home matches all over 2.5 goals and saw Dunfermline score 2 at least and concede 2 at least in each match. Last 3 matches over 2.5 goals and Dunfermline have scored and Dunfermline, again, have scored 2 in each at least, and conceded 2 in each at least.

STREAKS - 4 at home without a win

AWAY TEAM - Rangers

RECENT AWAY FORM - WWWW - all clean sheets against 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th ( remember Dunfermline are 7th)

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DWWWWWW - will be buzzing after beating Celtic 4-2 last match. Rangers kept a clean sheet in 5 consecutive matches before the celtic match latest.

GOAL TRENDS - only 2 matches this season are over 2.5 goals. Why? Well Rangers are winning 2-0 a lot ( 3 times in 7 matches) only 25% overs away from home as a consequence.

STREAKS - 6 match winning streak - have scored in every match this season - clean sheet and 4 wins in all 4 away matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Dunfermline are newcomers to the top flight and playing a side in great form. They are yet to meet the Old Firm and things are likely to be different once they do. Can Dunfermline continue their strong home goalscoring form ( which to be fair is scraping them a couple of points) Rangers have not conceded away from home yet. Which will give?
Over 2.5 goals looks obvious. Niggles? After the Lord Mayor's show with the 4-2 Old Firm derby win possibly impacting Rangers. This should really be easy pickings all things being equal.
Positives for getting involved ( hereonin called positives) - Dunfermline are conceding 2 regularly against non Old Firm teams which may hint at a concession of more goals today if Rangers click. This should assure overs, but a warning that Rangers are not conceding away in the league ( yes they concededv Falkirk)
Negatives? - after the Lords Mayor show - it would be good to see how Rangers have performed over the seasons against newly promoted sides away from home on first meeting. This is the first time these 2 have met.

Man City v Everton - 1.46 home
HEAD TO HEADS

16.01.2010 PR Everton FC 2-0 Manchester City
25.04.2009 PR Everton FC 1-2 Manchester City

LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 7th - Everton have only played 4 matches and could be as high as 3rd in real terms if they win today.

HOME TEAM - Man City

RECENT HOME FORM - WW - 4-0 and 3-0 against Swansea and Wigan featuring 5 goals for Aguero, 2 for Dzeko!

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWWWD - last draw they were 0-2 up at Fulham and let it slip ( complacency?)

GOAL TRENDS - all matches over 2.5 goals. 4-3-5-3-2 scored by City

STREAKS - 5 without defeat - 2 home matches without conceding.

AWAY TEAM - Everton

RECENT AWAY FORM - 0-1 win v Blackburn - 90th minute pen from Arteta who is no longer there.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LWDW - not played any of the big teams yet. Unlucky not to get the win v Villa. All Everton goalscorers have been different. New signings made an impact v Wigan with Drenthe and Vellios getting on the scoresheet. 3 transfers in for Everton, 2 are loans and the other £300K

GOAL TRENDS - last 2 matches Everton have scored 2 and 3.

STREAKS - n/a

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - this is a new Man City with a devastating forward line who have started the season extremely well. Like Hamburg yesterday, Everton have been written off in the betting market but have won the last 4 head to heads. Surely that cannot be dismissed. But they are playing a different City side with excellent signings.
Positives - the new signings in attack for MAn City should make them backable at home. They have not conceded at home yet but questionable opposition when compared with Everton. With both teams' head to heads and recent matches pointing to goals, over 2.5 goals looks obvious.
I would not enter the market at the start of the race as I envision a tight start.
Negatives - like Hamburg yesterday who scored 3 against their opponents yesterday and were dismissed in the market ( they won), Everton could simply be a bogey team for City, having won the last 4 head to heads. But the conundrum is that City are a new City.

20.03.2011 D1 FC København 3-1 Brøndby IF
19.09.2010 D1 FC København 2-0 Brøndby IF
02.05.2010 D1 Brøndby IF 0-2 FC København
14.03.2010 D1 FC København 2-0 Brøndby IF
30.08.2009 D1 FC København 1-1 Brøndby IF
Copenhagen dominant apart from last draw which did see them score first.
LEAGUE POSITION - 9th v 1st after 9 matches.

HOME TEAM - Brondby

RECENT HOME FORM - DLDW - win is against Koge and not unexpected. 2-2 draws v current 5th and 8th. Win against bottom side. Loss v current 3rd.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWLLDDLWL - there is nothing there to explain the 2.16 quote for Copenhagen. Wins against 10th and 12th. Losses v 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th. Yes only early in the season but a pattern forming?

GOAL TRENDS - 100% overs at home in 4 matches.2.5 scored, 2 conceded on average at home but remember this is an average of 4 matches only.

STREAKS - 2 without defeat at home.

AWAY TEAM - FC Copenhagen

RECENT AWAY FORM - WWWW - getting tighter with last 2 wins 0-1 against 3rd and 11th.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WDWWWWWWW - superb stuff and consistent. Copenhagen have scored 2 or more in 7 matches.

GOAL TRENDS - only one of the 4 away matches over 2.5 goals and that was v Koge. Copenhagen kept a clean sheet in 3 of those 4 away matches. They have kept a clean sheet in 4 of their last 5 matches.

STREAKS - 4 match winning streak, 9 without defeat.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - 2.16 is enticing for Copenhagen but must relate some trepidation in the market. With Copenhagen keeping 4 clean sheets in last 5, and 3 clean sheets in last 4, maybe they can be risked to score first? Like St Pauli , they can score first and go on to lose, as long as they score first for a nice trade. Last 2 away matches 0-1 for Copenhagen may hint at a tight initial affair. COpenhagen scored first in last 2 away matches v Brondby.

230pm -
Schalke v Freiburg - 1.41 home
HEAD TO HEADS
12.02.2011 D1 Schalke 04 1-0 SC Freiburg
22.09.2010 D1 SC Freiburg 1-2 Schalke 04
06.02.2010 D1 SC Freiburg 0-0 Schalke 04
29.08.2009 D1 Schalke 04 0-1 SC Freiburg

LEAGUE POSITION - 9th v 16th after 6 matches.

HOME TEAM - Schalke

RECENT HOME FORM - WWL - loss v Bayern Munich. Wins thanks largely to Huntelaar and Raul, a strong attacking force.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWWLL - no draws yet.

GOAL TRENDS - 4 of 6 matches this season over 2.5 goals, but last 2 home matches under 2.5 goals.

STREAKS - 6 without a draw overall.

AWAY TEAM - freiburg

RECENT AWAY FORM - DLL conceding 2-5-7 , conceded 5 and 7 against Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DLLWLL - draw was 2-2 v Augsburg. Beat Wolfsburg at home 3-0. 2-2-5-0-7-2 conceded so far this season.

GOAL TRENDS - all matches over 2.5 goals. HAve only kept a clean sheet in one match and only failed to score against Bayern Munich

STREAKS - -5 overall without a draw, 3 without a win away from home.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - the congruent pattern so far is the lack of a draw for Schalke and no draw in 5 for Freiburg. Other standouts? Well all of Freiburg's matches this season have been over 2.5 goals. Against good attacking sides, they concede many.
Only a 1-0 win for Schalke last season.Last 2 home matches under 2.5 goals but there is an overwhelming over 2.5 goal trend for both sides through the season so far.

3pm -
Arsenal v Bolton - 1.46 home
HEAD TO HEADS
24.04.2011 PR Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Arsenal FC
11.09.2010 PR Arsenal FC 4-1 Bolton Wanderers
20.01.2010 PR Arsenal FC 4-2 Bolton Wanderers
17.01.2010 PR Bolton Wanderers 0-2 Arsenal FC
10.01.2009 PR Arsenal FC 1-0 Bolton Wanderers

LEAGUE POSITION - 17th v 19th after 5 matches only.

HOME TEAM -arsenal

RECENT HOME FORM - LW - loss v Liverpool very unlucky and win v Swansea very lucky.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DLLWL - have lost against Man Utd and Liverpool and more recently Blackburn in a messy defensive match for Arsenal.

GOAL TRENDS - all unders at home. 2 of last 3 matches over 2.5 goals. Have conceded 8 and 4 in 2 of last 3 matches.

STREAKS- no draw in 4.

AWAY TEAM - bolton

RECENT AWAY FORM - WL - 0-3 win over QPR and 3-1 loss v Liverpool. Bolton have played City, Liverpool and United and got nothing from those matches ( and are playing Arsenal today to make up 4 of the probable top 5). They have also played 2 newcomers , beating QPR and losing to Norwich. Only 2 goals scored in last 3 matches - one was a 90th minute goal and the other a 2nd half penalty.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - -WLLLL - already discussed who Bolton have played recently.

GOAL TRENDS - all matches over 2.5 goals, and have scored in all bar 1 and kept a clean sheet in all bar 1.

STREAKS - 4 match losing streak, No draw this season.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Arsenal's team is still a work in progress - will they score 4 as they have done at home to Bolton last 2 head to heads? Bolton have lost v 3 of the traditional top 5 this season, hence the 1.46 quote for an out of sorts Arsenal.
Positives - no draw for Bolton and only 1 draw for Arsenal this season ( albeit a handful of matches) hints at a home win or away win. Odds point us towards a home win. Bolton's recent goals have been unconvincing - 90th minute and 65th minute penalty. Problems upfront ?
Negatives - Arsenal are inconsistent and inconsistent teams are not good trading teams ( usually we'd take a contrary view ). They are not immediately backable at 1.46 are they? Perhaps a reactive trading match initially. Watch out if Bolton score first - remember Arsenal have conceded 8 and 4 in 2 of their last 3 matches ( albeit both matches were away matches) Bolton are on a 4 match losing streak, and streaks and sequences will end eventually but do they simply have a very difficult start to the season?

22.09.2010 LC Celtic FC 6-0 Inverness CT
14.08.2010 PR Inverness CT 0-1 Celtic FC
01.02.2009 PR Inverness CT 0-0 Celtic FC
Celtic have not lost in last 6 head to heads. And they have scored 2 or more at home in last 2 , albeit only 1 league match ( 2-2 draw)
LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 12th

HOME TEAM - Celtic

RECENT HOME FORM - WLW - loss v St Johnstone when Celtic missed a 3 minute penalty which would have changed the dynamic of this match. They scored 5 and 4 against Dundee United and Motherwell and have conceded only 2 at home .

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWWLWWL - last loss the Old Firm derby saw Celtic 1-2 infront before being overwhelmed in the 2nd half.

GOAL TRENDS - last 2 matches over 2.5 goals. Clean sheets in 2 of last 3 matches. Only 3 overs matches this season, 2 of which were at home. And with their historic goalscoring exploits against Caley Thistle, we should expect overs to come in again? Clean sheets in 4 matches this season out of 7.

STREAKS - no draw this season.

AWAY TEAM - Inverness

RECENT AWAY FORM - LDLL conceding 3-3-2-3 and have scored in last 3 away matches.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLDLLWDL - sole win v Kilmarnock at home care of an 89th minute winner.REcent draw was 1-1- v Hearts.

GOAL TRENDS - all away matches over 2.5 goals because of the concession rate away - 3 goals in 3 different matches and 2 in the other!

STREAKS - 4 away without a win.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - this looks to rest on ICT's poor away form thuse far, conceding 3-3-2-3 away in 4 matches. Consistency here. No draw for Celtic this season suggests a home win as the alternative .2 of 3 overs matches this season for Celtic were at home. All of ICT's away matches over 2.5 goals. A must win for Celtic after losing the last Old Firm derby. They do not tend to lose 2 on the trot in the league.
Negatives - Celtic, like Real Madrid, are an enigma. You back them, they feck it up, you leave them, they cruise home
Speculative? - well the pattern for ICT away is to concede 2/3 , perhaps look to CEltic winning 3 minimum and with Celtic keeping a clean sheet in 2 of last 3, perhaps a correct score to nil.
3pm -
Chelsea v Swansea - 1.22 home
HEAD TO HEADS - n/a

LEAGUE POSITION - 3rd v 14th after 5 matches

HOME TEAM - Chelsea

RECENT HOME FORM - WW - 2-1 and 3-1 v West Brom and Norwich City - 3 of those Chelsea goals scored in 82nd minute onwards.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWWWL - loss v Man Utd away and that total waste of 50 mil, Arse-Banjo Torres, showed his talents. 8 different goal scorers for Chelsea this season can be seen positively - goals from the whole squad, or negatively - unreliable forward line not delivering.Wins against West Brom, Norwich, and Sunderland saw Chelsea concede in all of those matches.

GOAL TRENDS -last 4 matches over 2.5 goals saw Chelsea concede and score in each of those matches.

STREAKS - 2 match winning streak at home. - 4 matches without a draw.

AWAY TEAM - Swansea

RECENT AWAY FORM - LL against City and Arsenal. Good defensive displays. City did not score in the first half. Arsenal were extremely lucky to score in the 40th minute. So only one goal conceded against top sides in the first half and that was a goalkeeping error.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LDDLW - 4 matches without scoring ended against West Brom - -and how - 3-0 home win for the Swans deserved.

GOAL TRENDS - all matches have seen a scoreline to nil ( admittedly 4 in favour of Swansea's opponents!) goal trends suffered by Swansea's inability to score. Swansea have kept a clean sheet in 3 of their last 4 matches , the only break was the Arsenal lucky goal.

STREAKS - 2 match losing streak away and against traditional top 5.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - this match has the feel of a typical Chelsea home match against newcomers. Likely to be tight for a while before Chelsea pull away.
Reasoning? Well Swansea have kept Man City out for 45 minutes and Arsenal for 40 minutes. Chelsea have scored 3 of their 5 home goals in the 82nd minute onwards. Likely we might see better match odds in play. Swansea could score as well and if they score first, then it will be Xmas come early.
Last 4 Chelsea matches have seen them score and concede in each match.
2-0, 3-1, 3-0 Chelsea win today? If 0-0 at halftime, get stuck in!!

Wolves royal pains in the arse for Liverpool in 2010
LEAGUE POSITION - 8th v 10th after 5 matches.

HOME TEAM - liverpool

RECENT HOME FORM - 1-1 draw v Sunderland and 3-1 win over Bolton

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWWLL - last 2 losses against Stoke and Spurs away from home and Liverpool did not score.

GOAL TRENDS - only 2 home matches both see Liverpool score. Over 1.5 goals for both. Away sides both scored 1. Liverpool have failed to score in their last 2 matches.

STREAKS - 2 at home without defeat. Liverpool have lost their last 2 matches but looking at last season, they never went on a 3 match losing streak. Expectation therefore for a positive result this afternoon ( be it a draw or a home win)

AWAY TEAM - wolves

RECENT AWAY FORM - 1-2 win against Blackburn and 0-0 in derby v Villa. Remember Villa's new look forward line is full of pace. A good sign if meeting Suarez this afternoon?

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWDLL - 2 losses at home v QPR and Spurs and Wolves could not score. That's 3 matches now where Wolves have not scored. Wolves have conceded 80th and 87th minute goals in last 2 home losses, so make note reactive traders.

GOAL TRENDS - - - failed to score in last 3 the only real trend.

STREAKS - no defeat in 2 away

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Liverpool are on a 2 match losing streak and this piece of news may be the lynchpin for involvement this afternoon. They always got a positive result last season after a 2 match losing streak. Wolves have not scored in 3 - this is a sequence that needs to end soon.
My knee jerk reaction too is that the Liverpool odds are a tad short but maybe account for aforementioned failing to score sequence above.
Liverpool only lost 3 at home last season. A match that does not inspire me I am afraid. A match to be a reactive trader and to see the Liverpool team.

3pm -
Newcastle v Blackburn - 1.92 home - not a match I would normally research but as it is a premiership match I might as well have a look.

27.09.2008 PR Newcastle Utd 1-2 Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn like playing Newcastle historically and have come away from St James with a win in last 2 matches ( albeit one was 2008 and that is irrelevant to today's team)
LEAGUE POSITION - 4th v 16th after 5 matches

HOME TEAM - newcastle

RECENT HOME FORM - DW - draw v Arsenal 0-0 and 2-1 win over Fulham. Leon Best looks to be a key player on recent goalscoring form.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWWDD - concerns re draws but at least not losing.

GOAL TRENDS - only one over 2.5 goals bet and that was an 88th minute fulham goal which caused that.

STREAKS - 2 match draw streak - unbeaten this season. - no defeat in 5 matches.

AWAY TEAM - BLACKBURN

RECENT AWAY FORM - -LD against Aston Villa and Fulham

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLLDW - losses against Wolves, Villa and Everton, draw against Fulham and famous win over Arsenal.

GOAL TRENDS - 4/5 matches over 1.5 goals.

STREAKS - no win in 2 away.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - first thing to note is that Blackburn have not lost to Newcastle in 4 head to heads. Will this continue? Surely buoyed by 4-2 home win v Arsenal. Not a match that appeals to me I am afraid.

3pm -
West Brom v Fulham - 2.4 home

04.10.2008 PR West Bromwich 1-0 Fulham FC

LEAGUE POSITION - 10th v 18th after 5 matches.

HOME TEAM - west brom

RECENT HOME FORM - LL - very unlucky - 81st minute own goal v Man Utd and 90th minute loss to Stoke.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LLLWL - win was 0-1 v Norwich

GOAL TRENDS - have failed to score in 2 of last 3 matches. 2 of last 3 matches have seen WBA lose to nil.

STREAKS - 2 match losing streak at home. 5 matches without a draw.

AWAY TEAM - fulham

RECENT AWAY FORM - LL - poor away form continues from last season. Only 1 goal an 88th minute Dempsey goal.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DLLDD - -no win this season - this sequence must end soon, but I suspect it will end against a " championship" style team such as WBA, Wigan, et al.And perhaps end at home given the poor away form .

GOAL TRENDS - conceding 2 on average away from home at the moment.

STREAKS - 5 without a win, 2 away losing streak.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - West Brom win at home and Fulham win away, that seems to be the pattern at present. Will it continue today. Only one win between both teams this season. Could be a nervy tight affair this one early on, with Fulham desparate for that win. Again not a match that would be top of the list today.

3pm -
West Ham v Peterborough - 1.64 home - worth looking at West Ham matches
HEAD TO HEADS
14.07.2010 CF Peterborough 1-2 West Ham
29.07.2008 CF Peterborough 0-2 West Ham

LEAGUE POSITION - 5th v 11th so far this season

HOME TEAM - west ham

RECENT HOME FORM - LDW - 90th minute goals have done for West Ham twice at home. They conceded another 90th minute goal in the win but luckily no damage done.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWDWWD - 2-2 draw at home v Leeds should have been a win were it not for that 90th minute concession.0-0 draw away to Millwall perhaps no surprise as this was a London Derby.

GOAL TRENDS - last 2 home matches over 3.5 goals - 4 of last 5 matches overall over 2.5 goals. Have failed to score in only 2 matches this season.

STREAKS - 2 at home without defeat

AWAY TEAM - Peterborough

RECENT AWAY FORM - LDL - have conceded 2 goals in each away match. Draw v Millwall saw them come from 2-0 down so a warning for West Ham should they take a lead.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WLDWLLW - all positive results coming against bottom 13 sides.

GOAL TRENDS - 66% overs away from home, largely down to the concession rate.

STREAKS - have failed to score in 2 of last 3 matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - another opportunity for goals this afternoon I feel for a West Ham side finding themselves in winning positions at home, yet conceding 90 minute goals in 3 separate matches. Even this early on, can we suggest that Peterborough will have problems against the top sides? West Ham to score first again?

11.01.2009 PR Wigan Athletic 1-0 Tottenham
02.01.2009 Cup Tottenham 3-1 Wigan Athletic

LEAGUE POSITION - 15th v 11th - Spuds only played 4 - a win in real terms takes them 9th after 5 matches

HOME TEAM - wigan

RECENT HOME FORM - DW - have played 2 of the 3 promoted sides at home so far and all 3 promoted sides.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DDWLL - the losses arrive as Wigan play the established sides in Everton and Man City, conceding 3 on both occasions and that makes this 1.96 very enticing for Spurs this afternoon if that trend continues.

GOAL TRENDS - 2 home matches with 2 goals in each match.

STREAKS - no defeat in 2 at home - last 2 matches over 2.5 goals and conceded 4 of the 6 matches in 2nd half.

AWAY TEAM - spurs

RECENT AWAY FORM - 4 matches instead of 5 played for Spurs this season so in a false position. - LW - loss v City and beat Wolves 0-2.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLWW - no draw.Wins against Wolves and Liverpool and quite clearly Adebayor is fitting in nicely, scoring in both matches.

GOAL TRENDS - 3 of last 4 matches over 2.5 goals and the exception was the 0-2 win. Spurs have kept a clean sheet in last 2 matches.

STREAKS - 4 matches without a draw. 2 match winning streak.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Spurs should be shorter in my eyes based on the fact that Wigan, on meeting established Premiership sides instead of the 3 newcomers they met in 3 matches, conceded 3 in both matches. The 1.96 for Spurs might signal injury concerns so I would look at team news nearer match time.

STREAKS - no win this season

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - a messy match this one because Inter Milan's manager has gone. They have the personnel to give teams a spanking, and we have a void here with no manager. Perhaps we will see a change here with manager gone and a return to the traditional Inter play of old, which might yield results.
Yes, you've noticed " perhaps" " might" - we just don't know. Because of the sacking of the new manager this is a match to avoid. I don't expect, at any rate, to see Inter concede 3 or 4 away from home today.

04.03.2009 Cup Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 Bayern München

LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 7th after 6 matches.

HOME TEAM - Bayern

RECENT HOME FORM - LWW - 0-1 shock v Mgladbach very much forgotten about with 5-0 win against Hamburg and 7-0 win v Freiburg - both clean sheets - Gomez anda Ribery in devastating goalscoring form.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWWWW

GOAL TRENDS - 5 wins see 5 clean sheets in a row - 3 over 2.5 goals in the last 4 matches.Last 4 matches have seen Bayern score in the first and 2nd half

STREAKS - 5 match winning streak - 5 clean sheets - 1 goal only conceded this season

AWAY TEAM - Leverkusen

RECENT AWAY FORM - LWW - loss v Mainz. Wins v Stuttgart and Augsburg

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LWWDWL - last match 1-4 loss v strugglers Koln might augur well for Bayern today. 2 of Leverkusen's win were 1-0 only.

GOAL TRENDS - last 2 matches over 2.5 goals. Prior to those Leverkusen kept 3 clean sheets.

STREAKS - 2 match winning streak away

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - April head to head was 5-1 to Bayern and that seems to be the norm if we look at recent home performances for Bayern. Bayern have not conceded in 5 matches this season which hints that they have a good chance of being the first goalscorer. Leverkusen's recent match with Koln saw them concede 4 at home and that might signal a good day for Bayern goals wise at home.
Streaks - 5 without conceding - remember streaks will end eventually and 5 matches is quite a big streak for bayern.
Over 3.5 / 4.5 goals for the speculator. Remember Bayern have scored in the first and 2nd halves as well. Enhanced bet if Leverkusen score first.

530pm -
Stoke v Man Utd - 1.56 away

Stoke aim to become the first side this season to take at least a point off Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United.

The Potters need to bounce back from their 4-0 drubbing at Sunderland while United have already scored 21 goals in five matches this season.

The Red Devils have won all six meetings in the Barclays Premier League with an aggregate of 16-2.

24.10.2010 PR Stoke City 1-2 Manchester United
09.05.2010 PR Manchester United 4-0 Stoke City
26.09.2009 PR Stoke City 0-2 Manchester United
Man Utd have scored 2 in both matches at Stoke recently.,
LEAGUE POSITION - 5th v 1st after 5 matches

HOME TEAM - Stoke

RECENT HOME FORM - DW - clean sheets against Chelsea and Liverpool but are United just a shade better this term?

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DDWWL - loss was a shock 4-0 away to Sunderland but a sign that post transfer teams can surprise. Prior to this match it was Stoke as usual as you will see in goal trends.

GOAL TRENDS - 0-0, 1-1, 1-0, 1-0 in Stoke's 4 matches prior to the 4-0 loss away to Sunderland - clean sheets in 3 matches is what we come to expect of Stoke City.

STREAKS - 2 home without defeat because we have 2 at home without conceding.

AWAY TEAM - Man Utd

RECENT AWAY FORM - WW - 1-2 v WBA very lucky but no luck in the 0-5 win v Bolton.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWWWW - scoring 2-3-8-5-3 - surely if any team was to score 2 against Stoke at Stoke, it would be Man Utd in current form.

GOAL TRENDS - 5 over 2.5 goals in contrast to Stoke City drab defensive unders football. HAve kept a clean sheet in 2 matches.

STREAKS - Rooney has scored in all 5 matches this season - 5 match winning streak - 5 over 2.5 goals.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - defense v attack this match and you must side with United in current form. Conceivable this could be a tight match early on and Stoke matches at home usually mean backing 0-0 initially and under 2.5 goals. But this United team is in excellent attacking form and could surprise. Reactive traders - Stoke could score first so get ready to react. This could conceivably be tight first half. Get on overs 2nd half if so.This match might follow the pattern of the match v WBA.

28.10.2009 Cup Roda Kerkrade 0-2 PSV Eindhoven
12.09.2009 D1 PSV Eindhoven 3-0 Roda Kerkrade

LEAGUE POSITION - 5th v 13th

HOME TEAM - psv

RECENT HOME FORM - WWD - draw perhaps expected 2-2 v Ajax saw PSV 1-0 and 2-1 up.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWWDD - 2 draws on the trot needs addressing in what was a very tight league last season where every point counts. 3-3 draw v VVV saw PSV 0-2 up and you already know the AJAX scoreline so there was an opportunity to have won both of those matches.

GOAL TRENDS - 5/6 matches this season over 2.5 goals. Have scored in all matches this season and kept clean sheets in only 2 matches. Nice for overs.

STREAKS - 3 at home without defeat, 5 overall.

AWAY TEAM - roda

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLL - conceding 3-3-5 without playing the triumvirate ( PSV, Ajax, Twente) away from home, hints that the big 3 could score plenty and sub 1.2 odds back this up I suppose. Have failed to score in 2 of those 3 away losses.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WLLLWL - interesting 2-1 win at home v Twente which was a great surprise - an anomoly surely? Twente scored first for you back to lay match odds traders.

GOAL TRENDS - 5/6 matches this season over 2.5 goals.

STREAKS - have conceded in all matches this season. No draw this season.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - with Roda with no draw this season, and PSV seeking to end a 2 match draw sequence this looks surely an ideal opportunity for PSV to regain the winning thread and with a degree of superiority. 3/4 goals or more expected if we look at Roda's away form.
Speculators - look to over 4.5 goals or more for PSV with the possibility of a big score to nil ( cue 90th minute PSV 1-0 win)

MONS must have gone down a league in 2010. Goals a plenty when these 2 meet - a friendly on 5th July saw Club Brugge 3-1 up and succumb to a 90th minute goal - is this recent game an adequate framework to work from?
LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 5th after 7 matches.

HOME TEAM - club brugge

RECENT HOME FORM - WWD - draw against Anderlecht

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WDWDDWW - all draws score draws and have conceded a goal in each of the last 4 matches.

GOAL TRENDS - have scored in all matches this season. 3/4 over 2.5 goals matches were away from home.

STREAKS - unbeaten this season - 3 without defeat at home.

AWAY TEAM - mons

RECENT AWAY FORM -DDL

RECENT OVERALL FORM - both draws score draw and an impressive 2-2 v Anderlecht

GOAL TRENDS - last 5 matches over 2.5 goals. Have scored and conceded in all matches so far this season

STREAKS - 3 away without a win,

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - what significance do we place on the July friendly? it points to an easy Club Brugge win. Both sides have drawn with Anderlecht and both sides draws have all been score draws. So do we expect 2 goals minimum here? Potential too for enhanced betting if Mons score the first goal? Over 1.5 goals looks a goer but there is no congruency re the over 2.5 goals. Club Brugge's over 2.5 goals matches occur away from home.
Chance overs anyway based on THAT friendly?

7pm -
Real Madrid v Rayo Vallecano - 1.12 home
HEAD TO HEADS
05.04.2003 D1 Real Madrid 3-1 Rayo Vallecano
09.11.2002 D1 Rayo Vallecano 2-3 Real Madrid

LEAGUE POSITION - 7th v 11th and Real in real trouble of ending their la liga campaign by dropping 5 points from 6 away from home.

HOME TEAM - real madrid

RECENT HOME FORM - 4-2 win over Getafe

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWLD - last 2 matches away see Real lose 1-0 to Levante and draw 0-0 with Racing.

GOAL TRENDS - only 4 matches played - Real have failed to score in last 2

STREAKS - no win in 2, no goal scored in 2.

AWAY TEAM - rayo vallecano

RECENT AWAY FORM - DW - 1-1 with Ath Bilbao and 0-1 win v Getafe

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DDWL - 1-2 to Levante last match. At least they scored against them! Only 1 match over 2.5 goals.

GOAL TRENDS - last match the only over 2.5 goals match

STREAKS - no defeat in 2 away.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - slight risk with this bet as these 2 have not met since 2003. Psychologically though this is a must must win for Real Madrid after losing and drawing their last 2 away matches. Rayo have only conceded 1 56 minute goal in 2 away matches, but then they have not met Barca or Real yet.
Surely this must be a much needed home win.

AC Milan v Cesena - 1.4 home
HEAD TO HEADS
23.01.2011 D1 AC Milan 2-0 AC Cesena
11.09.2010 D1 AC Cesena 2-0 AC Milan
Mixed bag here.
LEAGUE POSITION - 16th v 20th - only 3 matches played this season though.

HOME TEAM - ac milan

RECENT HOME FORM - 2-2 and 1-1 draws at home saw AC Milan concede first on both occasions.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DLD - not a good start to the season for these Italian teams.

GOAL TRENDS - all 3 matches over 1.5 goals and AC Milan have scored and conceded in all 3 matches.

STREAKS - no win in 3 - 2 score draws - Milan only lost 2 at home last season so expectation is for that win to come soon.

AWAY TEAM - cesena

RECENT AWAY FORM - 1-0 loss v Catania and a penalty so unlucky for Cesena

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLL - conceding 3 and 2 v Napoli and Lazio Roma

31.07.2010 SC FC Twente 1-0 AFC Ajax
07.02.2010 D1 AFC Ajax 3-0 FC Twente

LEAGUE POSITION

HOME TEAM - ajax

RECENT HOME FORM - WW - 5 and 4 goals scored against Heerenveen and Vitesse and conceded in each match.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWDWWD - both draws 2-2 and significantly one was a 2-2 draw with another of the triumvirate.

GOAL TRENDS - 4-5-2-4-3-2 scored by Ajax this season results in all matches over 2.5 goals. Ajax have scored and conceded in every match which hints of course at goals bets immediately. But we must take into account that they are playing Twente today.
STREAKS - 6 without defeat - 2 match home winning streak.

AWAY TEAM - Twente

RECENT AWAY FORM - WWL - unexpected 2-1 loss to Roda.Beat Breda and Heerenveen, the latter with a 5 goal haul

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWWWLW - the Roda match looking anomolous in this context.

GOAL TRENDS - last 2 aways over 2.5 goals - last 4 matches over 2.5 goals - have conceded and scored in last 4 matches.

STREAKS - no draws this season

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - another humdinger which I would love to watch. Likely to be as unpredictable as the Ajax v PSV match. Both teams could cancel each other out. Certainly it may be worth following the pattern of that Ajax PSV match which saw one team score, the other equalise, one team score again and the other equalise. Goals trends hint at over 2.5 goals.
These top team clashes are tough to decipher as it usually goes to the better performer on the day.

230 CHESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 1/2
Self Centred, 3/1 Gabrial´s Layla, 10/1 The Giving Tree, 20/1 She´s Flawless, 20/1 Tinzapeas, 25/1 April Leyf, 50/1 Silent Ambition.

8 runenrs - 3 places 3 under 20/1 and a strong market leader - surely Gabrial's is the value place horse here? - only 2 places apparently on Betfair

335 CHESTER

BETTING FORECAST: 4/5 Dick Doughtywylie, 4/1 Fruehling, 6/1 Medal Of Valour, 11/1 Postscript, 12/1 Musical Flight, 14/1 Sailor´s Chant, 16/1 Marshmallow, 25/1 Eqtiraab, 33/1 Danesman, 50/1 Gorau Glas, 66/1 Orpen Bid.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: DICK DOUGHTYWYLIE sets a useful standard on his two runs in 1m2f maidens at Newmarket and Goodwood and really should be hard to beat for the yard which won this last year. Costly purchase Medal Of Valour is well worth noting in the betting but as things stand, Fruehling is the obvious one to chase the selection home. [Mel Cullinan]

Dick really should be hard to beat? 2 runs as a maiden and 32 the form is progressive and placed.

435 MR

BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 World Heritage, 7/2 Bullet Man, 11/2 Book´em Danno, 11/2 Yahrab, 13/2 Bedouin Bay, 16/1 Jawaab, 16/1 Rosbay, 20/1 Highland Love, 25/1 Veroon, 33/1 Amtired, 33/1 Dear Maurice, 33/1 Dont Tell Sailor, 66/1 Can Can Dancer.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A well-contested novice event which includes five hurdle winners, including C&D scorers Bedouin Bay, Yahrab and Book'Em Danno. Huntingdon winner Bullet Man also needs a mention but top of the list is WORLD HERITAGE who was capable of smart form on the Flat early in his career and scored easily under Tony McCoy at Stratford on his first outing under this code. He looks a useful prospect.[Steve Boow]

5 under 16/1 for 3 places - a good possible probability race and each way race. World Heritage to follow up under McCoy?

235 NMKT

BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Best Terms, 3/1 Lightening Pearl, 8/1 Shumoos, 10/1 Sajwah, 12/1 Hello Glory, 14/1 Angels Will Fall, 20/1 Miss Work Of Art, 33/1 Lady Gorgeous, 33/1 Sunday Times.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: It is difficult to find a flaw in BEST TERMS (nap)'s credentials and she can maintain her unbeaten record, probably at the main expense of Lightening Pearl. [Frank Carter]

3 under 12/1 here and a chance for Best Terms to place, if not win again?

535 NMKT

BETTING FORECAST: 4/5 Anatolian, 7/2 Tmaam, 8/1 Borug, 9/1 Haylaman.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The potential of ANATOLIAN and Tmaam should leave the others highly vulnerable. There is far more evidence that Tmaam will appreciate this trip but Anatolian looked sufficiently promising last time to get the vote and persuade that it's best to go along with connections' decision to step him up to 1m4f.[Richard Austen]

4 horses and 2 places here -chance Anatolian as the odds on fav in a 50/50 race?

525 RIPON

BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Yasir, 7/2 Eagle Rock, 4/1 Eyedoro, 15/2 Tricksofthetrade, 10/1 Labroc, 14/1 Ornithologist, 16/1 Minnie Mambo, 50/1 Fantastic Times, 50/1 Stillington, 66/1 Eila Wheeler.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: YASIR didn't get much luck when a fast finishing third stepped up to 1m4f at Folkestone last time. He sets a decent standard and should be hard to beat on his third run. The main form danger is Eagle Rock, while Mark Johnston's newcomer Eyedoro is one to watch in the market, [David Moon]

hard to beat on his 3rd run? Yasir?

SHORTLIST

1245pm - -Dunfermline v Rangers - 1.38 away - difficult to weigh up when there is no recent league history but how damning was the 7-2 last head to head? Surely 1.38 is a good price for Rangers against newcomers?

230pm - Schalke v Freiburg - 1.41 home - Raul and Huntelaar surely can put conceders Freiburg to the sword?

3pm - Celtic v Inverness CT - 1.22 home - Celtic are like my girlfriend's Honda Accord - it goes sometime and then suddenly does something you don't expect. Is it a going day today? No draw for Celtic this season suggests a home win.

3pm - Chelsea v Swansea - 1.22 home - I suspect this might be another late late show for chelsea against a Swansea outfit who kept a clean sheet first half v Chelsea and 40 mins into first half v Arse.

530pm - B Munich v Leverkusen - 1.38 home - stay with them surely while on a 5 match winning streak and 5 matches without conceding

530pm - Stoke v Man Utd - 1.56 away - tough nuts to crack at home, but expect eventual United goal.

545pm - PSV v Roda JC - 1.19 home - 2 recent draws for PSV were both eminently winnable ( 2-0 up in one match and 1-0 and 2-1 up in other match). 2 draws on the trot is bad enough - 3 is inconcieveable - must win surely in such a tight league?

7pm - Real Madrid v Rayo Vallecano - 1.12 home - this is the very epitomy of a must win after loss draw last 2.

335 CHESTER - Dick Doughtywylie 1.15 to place has a great chance here

435 MR - World Heritage 1.28 to place - faith in McCoy?

235 NMKT - Best terms 1.26 to place - looks a great price but multiple winners sequences will end, but will it end still in the places though?

535 NMKt - Anatolian -4 horses - 2 places - simple probability
