12/9

*****ONE A DAY - 6pm - Atvidabergs v IK Brage - back over 1.5 goals at 1.15. 92% overs for the home side at home and 73% for the away side away should equal goals

Carbon copy of Barca, PSV led 0-2 at halftime, and again at 0-2 up, this is a perfect opportunity to use Betfair's lay facility to get your stake back by laying PSV at lower odds. This is something we can do with football that we cannot do with horse racing.

430pm - HJK Helsinki v KuPS - 1.24 home
HEAD TO HEADS
04.07.2011 D1 KuPS Kuopio 2-4 HJK Helsinki
09.05.2011 D1 HJK Helsinki 4-1 KuPS Kuopio
07.04.2011 CF HJK Helsinki 2-0 KuPS Kuopio
19.03.2011 LC HJK Helsinki 4-3 KuPS Kuopio
17.07.2010 D1 HJK Helsinki 1-2 KuPS Kuopio
16.04.2010 D1 KuPS Kuopio 0-5 HJK Helsinki
Helsinki have won the last 4, scoring 4-2-4-4
LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 10th

HOME TEAM - HJK

RECENT HOME FORM - WWWWWWWWWWW

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWWWWWWWWWLWWWWWL - not a draw in sight.Losses against 9th and 4th. Profitable trade v 4th because HJK scored first to trade out of the match odds.

GOAL TRENDS - last 4 matches over 2.5 goals. 7 of last 8 matches over 2.5 goals. 11 wins, 6 clean sheets, 3.45 scored on average at home, 0.64 conceded.

STREAKS - 34 games overall without a draw, 21 at home without a draw.

AWAY TEAM - KUPS

RECENT AWAY FORM - LDLDLDDDLDL - no win away, best case today a draw.5/6 draws score draws - natural over 2.5 goals incase of a shock? Have scored in 5 of last 6 away matches.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DLDDLDDDDLWDLLW - recent wins against 8th and , surprisingly, 2nd.

GOAL TRENDS - 8-2-4-4-2-5- scored in total in last 6 away matches. 5 losses, 6 draws away from home. 1 clean sheet in 11 away matches.1 scored, 2.18 conceded on average away from home.

STREAKS - 9 away without a win

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS- contrasting home and away form. Best case for KUPS today is a draw, and if a draw, it is most likely to be a score draw. Over 2.5 goals would cover any shocks but HJK should win this one, particularly as they slipped up last week ( and scored first for traders)

6pm -
Atvidabergs v IK Brage - 1.31 home
HEAD TO HEADS
04.06.2011 D2 IK Brage 1-0 Ã…tvidabergs FF
22.08.2004 D2 Ã…tvidabergs FF 6-0 IK Brage
Only 1 head to head of relevance sees outsiders today winning 1-0
LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 14th of 16. A win takes Atv top.

HOME TEAM - Atv

RECENT HOME FORM - WLWWDWWWWWW - home loss was against 4th. Have beaten bottom 2 sides 4-0 at home and are playing 3rd bottom today.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWLWDWWWWDWW - losses came away from home.Recent draw a 3-3 away to 10th in the league.

GOAL TRENDS - 90.9% of home matches over 2.5 goals - same as Elfsborg.have scored in all home matches. Last 9 matches all over 2.5 goals. Against bottom 10, all 8 matches played all over 2.5 goals. Have conceded in all of last 6 matches.
2.9 scored, 0.9 conceded on average.

STREAKS - 6 match home winning streak, 9 without defeat.

AWAY TEAM - BRAGE

RECENT AWAY FORM - WLLWWLLLDLL - no win in last 6.Away wins v 5th, 9th and 16th

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LWDLDLDDLDLLD - 5 of last 6 draws score draws. Only 1 of the 8 draws has come away from home.

GOAL TRENDS - 72.7% overs away from home. Only 4 of last 7 matches over 2.5 goals because of the score draws. 1 scored, 2.18 conceded away from home on average.

STREAKS - 6 away without a win, 11 overall without a win.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - the over 2.5 goals stats here are tremendous and show congruency between both sides. With percentages this high, perhaps we can nudge up to over 3.5 for trading purposes only?

6pm -
CSKA Sofia v Lokomotiv Plovdiv - 1.28 home
21.05.2011 D1 Lokomotiv Plovdiv 4-1 CSKA Sofia
14.11.2010 D1 CSKA Sofia 1-0 Lokomotiv Plovdiv
27.02.2010 D1 CSKA Sofia 3-2 Lokomotiv Plovdiv

18.03.2009 D1 Lokomotiv Plovdiv 1-3 CSKA Sofia
09.02.2009 CF CSKA Sofia 2-0 Lokomotiv Plovdiv
3rd v 9th, 0nly 4 matches played and not on soccerstats. CSKA have won all 4 this season 2-1, 1-0, 2-1, 5-0
plovdiv 0-0, 2-1 win, 2-0 loss, 2-0 win.
No opinion from me just yet.

28.06.2009 CF IF Elfsborg 1-1 GAIS
Elfs are unbeaten in head to heads
LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 5th

HOME TEAM - ELFS

RECENT HOME FORM - WDWWWWWWWDW - solid home form - draws against 3rd and 7th

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWLDWWWWWWDWWL - all losses have been away from home against 1st, 7th, 8th, 10th , 14th

GOAL TRENDS - 90.9% of home matches over 2.5 goals - WOW -a Blackpool at home type stat. 7 of last 10 matches over 2.5 goals. Have kept a clean sheet in 3 of last 5. Have scored 2 or more in 10 of 11 home matches. The anomolous match was a 0-0.

STREAKS - 11 at home without defeat.

AWAY TEAM - GAIS

RECENT AWAY FORM - LWDLLDLWLDL - inconsistent away from home.Only 2 wins against 10th and bottom side.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WDWLWLWWLWDWLW - again inconsistent but win in turn. All recent wins though at home.

GOAL TRENDS - 54.55 overs away from home. 8 of last 11 matches over 2.5 goals. Have only failed to score in 3 matches this season.

STREAKS - 3 away without a win

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - standout 90% overs stats for Elfsborg and they are likely to score 2 minimum at home. similarly, gais have only failed to score in 3 matches this season. Ergo over 2.5 goals in the bag already? gais are one of those nightmare trading teams - why? they are so fecking inconsistent!!

6pm -
Fenerbahce v Orduspor - 1.33 home - 4 goal goal difference gave Fener the title last year. They will be acutely aware of that, as they will of these newcomers . Fenerbahce won 14 and drew 3 at home last season. Santos to Arsenal and Ermineke to Spartak to 2 big departures for Fenerbahce,
Always a risk backing strong favs at home v newcomers ( Marseille v Caen anyone? Lyon 1 - Ajaccio 1!!) but the home record of last year does compel somewhat.
6pm -
Sarpsborg v Rosenborg - 1.56 away
HEAD TO HEADS
03.07.2011 D1 Rosenborg BK 4-0 Sarpsborg 08
Pretty definitive as recently as July 2011. 2 goals in the first half and 2 goals in the 2nd half.
LEAGUE POSITION 16th of 16 v 9th - Rosenborg have played 19, sarpsborg have played 20 and other teams have played 21/22 matches so it could be argued that Rosenborg at least are in a false position. They go 2nd if they win 3 games in hand!!

HOME TEAM -SARPSBORG

RECENT HOME FORM - WWWWLDLLL - something went wrong after the first 4 home matches. or was it just a cluster of poor teams. Wins against 1st, and then 12th, 14th and 15th. Sarps have lost against 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th, and are playing a falsely positioned 9th today. Sarps have not scored in their last 2 matches.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LDDLLDLLLLLL - - on the slide for sure.

GOAL TRENDS - 44% over 2.5 goals helped by 2 2-0 results, 1 1-1 result out of the 9 home matches played.1.55 scored, 1.66 conceded on average at home. Sarpsborg have failed to score in 5 of their last 6 matches. But they have scored in 4 of their 6 home matches against the top 7. Perhaps they could nick a goal today? 4 clean sheets came in 4 wins at the start of the season, and since they they have conceded in all matches.

STREAKS - 5 at home without a win, 12 overall. Only 1 draw in 8 home matches. Current losing streak of 6.

AWAY TEAM - Rosenborg

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLWDDWDLDD -reasonable form , perhaps too many draws - 3 in last 4 away matches. 5 of 6 draws this season all score draws. Only wins away against 1st and 12th, drawn 1-1 against 14th and 15th and playing 16th today.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DDWWDWWLDWDW - only 1 loss recently away to 6th. The wins are predominantly coming at home.

GOAL TRENDS - 50/50 overs away. 1.4 on average scored and conceded away. Last 3 matches have been over 2,5 goals. Have conceded in 5 of last 6 matches.

STREAKS - 4 away without a win.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - I am not taken by Rosenborg's away form. It does not mirror their winning home form. 2 1-1 draws against 14th and 15th away. And look at Odd Grenland - beat them 7-0 at home, drew 3-3 away ( Rosenborg have beaten Sarpsborg 4-0 at home - what will they do away?)
obviously it looks more likely that Sarpsborg will lose based on their recent form and the sudden 3 losses in last 4 at home. Over 2.5 goals might cover any shocks as Rosenborg tend to score draw if they don't win.

715pm -
Sparta Prague v Zizkov - 1.19 home
17.07.2009 CF Viktoria Zizkov 0-3 Sparta Praha
08.03.2009 D1 Viktoria Zizkov 1-2 Sparta Praha
31.08.2008 D1 Sparta Praha 2-0 Viktoria Zizkov
No recent head to heads suggest Zizkov a new side.
1st v 14th after 5 matches.
Sparta have only lost 1 match in their last 12 and that was a Europa League match.
LLWLD for zizkov
Should be a comfortable home win against newcomers.
745pm - Derry v Drogheda - 1.14 home

01.05.2009 PR Drogheda Utd 0-3 Derry City
2 clean sheets in last 2 matches
LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 9th of 10

HOME TEAM - DERRY

RECENT HOME FORM - LDWDWWDWWDWDWW - sole loss 1st match of season .

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWDDWDDWWWDWWWDW - have beaten the bottom 2 home and away without conceding.

GOAL TRENDS -only 3 of last 8 matches over 2.5 goals. Have kept a clean sheet in 8 of last 12 matches.Only 28.6% overs at home. Why? Well 3 2-0's, 3 0-0's and 2 1-1's the cause.

STREAKS - 13 at home without defeat, 15 overall.

AWAY TEAM - DROGHEDA

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLLLLLLWWLLWL - recent away wins against 6th, 7th and 10th - not a draw in sight which hints at home win/away win and odds suggest home win with goals to spare.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WLWLLLLWWDLLL - recent positive results against 6th, 7th and 10th

GOAL TRENDS - 4 of last 5 over 2.5 goals, the exception was a 2-0. Have failed to score in 2 of last 3 matches - have conceded 4,5 and 2 in last 3 matches - and remember they are playing a 1.14 shot today and what does sub 1.2 equal? 3/4 goals minimum. 64% overs away from home. Concede an average 2.21 away and have not kept an away clean sheet this season.

STREAKS - 14 away without a draw

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - no draw away for Drogs and they have conceded in all away matches points to one outcome. 1.14 usually signals a spanking but rememeber Derry's poor over 2.5 goals stats at home - due in large part to 8 2 goal total games. Drogs have conceded 4-5-2 in their last 3 which might allow us to back over 3.5 , 4.5 goals as is normally the case with 1.14 shots. But do remember that 28.6% Derry home over 2.5 goal %

745pm -

05.10.2010 PR Sligo Rovers 2-1 Bray Wanderers
06.08.2010 PR Bray Wanderers 1-3 Sligo Rovers
29.05.2010 PR Sligo Rovers 5-1 Bray Wanderers

LEAGUE POSITION - 3rd v 7th

HOME TEAM - Sligo

RECENT HOME FORM - LWWLWWWWWWWDLD - recent draw v 1st and 4th, and recent loss v 5th but beat all the bottom 5 at home, conceding only 1 goal.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WDWDWWWWDDLWDW - 3 draws and a loss in last 5 a cause for concern? Have won all 8 matches home and away against bottom 4, of which Bray is one.

GOAL TRENDS - 43% overs at home largely down to 4 2-0 results.

STREAKS - 3 without a win at home - only 1 loss in 14 matches.

AWAY TEAM - BRAY

RECENT AWAY FORM - WWWDDLDWWLWDL - interesting away form considering home team are such strong favourites. 3 losses away have come against 3rd, 4th and 5th .

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWLLLLWLLWDLL - 8 losses in last 11 , wins were against 8th and 10th - draw was against 6th 2-2 - same team and same scoreline as Galway last match.

GOAL TRENDS - 46% overs away from home. Concede 1 on average away from home.

STREAKS - 2 away without a win - only 2 draws in last 18 matches for Bray.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - only concede 1 away on average do bray - interesting. 2 draws in 18 signal home/away win and odds point to home win. 1.22 might be layable for the speculator, with recent ropey form for Sligo in last 3 at home and last 6 overall - only 2 wins. Not a team that inspires, Sligo, in a less than inspiring league.

745pm -
UCD v Galway Utd - 1.33 home
HEAD TO HEADS
01.07.2011 PR Galway United 3-4 UCD Dublin
09.05.2011 PR UCD Dublin 3-0 Galway United
18.03.2011 PR Galway United 0-0 UCD Dublin
09.10.2010 PR Galway United 1-4 UCD Dublin
30.07.2010 PR UCD Dublin 0-1 Galway United
21.05.2010 PR Galway United 2-2 UCD Dublin
UCD were 3-1 up last match.
LEAGUE POSITION - 8th v 10th - poor side v poorer side.

HOME TEAM - UCD

RECENT HOME FORM - LLLWWWLLLDLLW - wins at home against 9th, 10th and 3rd ( have beaten Drogs twice at home) About their level then, the bottom 2.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LLLLLLLDWLLDLLWL - recent wins have been 3-4 and 5-4! Hardly compelling.

GOAL TRENDS - 61% overs at home. Score 1.3, concede 2.7 at home on average. 11 of last 13 matches have been over 2.5 goals. Have kept a clean sheet in only 3 matches this season and 2 of them against Galway!!

STREAKS - 3 at home without a draw.

AWAY TEAM - GALWAY - amazing 2-2 result for Galway last time out!

RECENT AWAY FORM - LWDLLLLLLLLLLL - says it all.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLD - 2-2 v Dundalk latest thanks to an 84th minute Galway penalty.

GOAL TRENDS - Last 5 matches over 2.5 goals. 16 of last 20 matches over 2.5 goals.Galway have scored in last 3 matches - quite a feat as prior to that they failed to score in 13 of 16 matches. Have conceded in all bar 2 matches.

STREAKS - 11 match losing streak away. 11 away without a draw, 25 overall withotu a win

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Galway are suddenly finding the onion bag after a period without scoring. Over 2.5 goals looks a better bet here in order to cover potential shocks, over 3.5 goals might be an option for traders, albeit in a likely illiquid market

8pm -
Malaga v Granada - 1.48 home - 18th v 19th after only one match. 2-1 away loss for Malaga st Seville and 0-1 home loss for granada v betis ( 88th minute). Malaga 11th last year and against bottom 6 teams at home last season produced WDWDWW so this is what we , hopefully, can expect today against newcomers Granada. But as ever, granada could find their level as the season progresses. So this match is very much an unknown.
8pm -
QPR v Newcastle - 2.62 home
QPR team news

New signing Joey Barton is set to make his QPR debut in Monday night's Barclays Premier League match against former club Newcastle.

The 28-year-old could be joined by five other debutants, with fellow recent signings Anton Ferdinand, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Jason Puncheon, Luke Young and Armand Traore also vying for starts.

QPR manager Neil Warnock admits several players have niggles but can call upon Clint Hill after suspension and DJ Campbell, who has recovered from a virus.

Newcastle team news

Newcastle new-boy Davide Santon is unlikely to go straight into the starting XI.

The former Inter Milan full-back headed off on international duty with Italy's Under-21s after completing his move to St James' Park and, as a result, has had little time to be integrated into the Magpies squad and is set to feature from the bench at best at Loftus Road.

Steve Harper (knee), Danny Guthrie (ankle) and Shola Ameobi (hip) have returned to training after missing the 2-1 win over Fulham last time out, a game in which Haris Vuckic broke his hand, while Mehdi Abeid (knee) has also joined Mike Williamson (broken arm) and Hatem Ben Arfa (ankle) on the injured list, although the latter has resumed light training..

squads

Queens Park Rangers: Kenny, Orr, Hill, Derry, Hall, Gabbidon, Taarabt, Dyer, Campbell, Bothroyd, Faurlin, Traore, Buzsaky, Perone, Connolly, Barton, Young, Smith, Helguson, Murphy, Wright-Phillips, Ferdinand, Puncheon

Newcastle United: Krul, Harper, Simpson, R. Taylor, Santon, Ferguson, Coloccini, S. Taylor, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Marveaux, Obertan, Gosling, Smith, Ba, Shola Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Best, Sammy Ameobi.

Immediately we can see that the QPR dynamic might change after post transfer market activity which always makes matches difficult to predict until you have actually seen the team. Of course, mastermind champion for the last 3 years, Mensa member and the man who is advisor to Dr Stephen Hawking, Joey Barton, is a big signing. Shaun Wright-Phillips is also an excellent signing for QPR .
HEAD TO HEADS
02.05.2010 LCh Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Newcastle Utd
30.09.2009 LCh Newcastle Utd 1-1 Queens Park Rangers
Not really relevant as these were in different leagues with different players.
LEAGUE POSITION - 15th v 6th

HOME TEAM - QPR

RECENT HOME FORM - 0-4 v Bolton

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWL v Bolton, Everton, Wigan

GOAL TRENDS - 3 matches not enough but QPR have only scored 1 goal.

STREAKS - n/a

AWAY TEAM - Newcastle

RECENT AWAY FORM - W 0-1 v Sunderland

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DWW - v Arsenal, Sunderland, Fulham.

GOAL TRENDS - nearly 3 clean sheets - Fulham scored an 88th minute goal.

STREAKS - 2 match winning streak.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - not a match which inspires me, because QPR could be completely different now with their new signings and it is important to watch to see if they make as much of an impact as, for instance, Adebayour at Spuds. Newcastle hint at a solid defence - 2 clean sheets and an 88th minute concession. But 3 games is hardly conducive to strong trends.

Soft ground at Brighton today precludes any personal interest.

240 KEMPTON

BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Wadha, 9/2 Hairpin, 11/2 Barathea Dancer, 13/2 Appeal, 10/1 Fabulouslyspirited, 20/1 Huwayit, 25/1 Conesuala, 25/1 Tetbury Lass, 40/1 The Flying Cholita, 66/1 Callisto Light, 66/1 Moonlark.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Barathea Dancer technically has the best form on offer but she's had plenty of chances. Preference is for WADHA who should build on her promising Warwick debut. The other Godolphin runner, Hairpin, is a nicely bred filly who needs to be monitored closely in the betting even though Frankie Dettori deserts her. Darsan showed ability here on her debut and is also interesting.[Steve Boow]

4/6 - - - -6/1 Wadhi for Dettori/Godolphin and only 1 run though.

445 LISTOWEL

BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Shadow Eile, 9/2 Meitheamh, 6/1 Miss Accurate, 6/1 Taraval, 13/2 King´sandqueen´s, 8/1 Chasing Shadows, 9/1 Winslet, 10/1 Back In A Tic, 33/1 Royal Robin.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This race was really weak given the prize-money on offer last year (E40,000) and this is a better renewal, despite the much-reduced purse. It has been the plan for SHADOW EILE (nap) for some time and, given her smart bumper form and how seamlessly she took to hurdling at Galway, she ought to be hard to beat. Most of these have a chance of sorts and Winslet is one of the darker ones. [Johnny Ward]

4/5 - - - 4/1 - good to see the Betting Forecast price shortened so much in the live market. 9 runners - 3 places but soft/heavy ground.

SHORTLIST

430pm - HJK Helsinki v KuPS -over 2.5 goals has a great chance - 1.37
6pm - Atvidabergs v IK Brage - 1.31 home - over 2.5 goals has a massive chance based on stats. 1.15 over 1.5 goals looks a steal
6pm - Elfsborg v GAIS - 1.33 home - again standout over 2.5 goals
745pm - Derry v Drogheda - 1.14 home - easy home win one would hope with over 2.5 goals.
445 LISTOWEL - Shadow Eile looks to have been laid out for this race . 1.25
