9/11

Well, there is no such thing as a sure thing and so it proved with Indian Storm, -the mistake was mine - ground was obviously NOT the good to soft advertised in the Racing Post but worse and we were only playing for 2 places so there was no margin for error.

So loss retrieval time and remember we don't have to be focussed solely on horse racing. Yesterday saw BArcelona a decent prospect at home for loss retrieval ( the last of my shorties at home - the others Celtic and Liverpool were already playing as the race went off) .

TOday what kind of ground will we find?

UPDATE 1250PM - I have just noticed the 310 at Hereford
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Thievery, 11/4 Silvergino, 8/1 Wild Power, 10/1 Kova Hall, 12/1 Duckworth Lewis, 16/1 Glimmer Of Light, Zorro De La Vega, 20/1 Bob´s Temptation, King Diamond, 25/1 Bayberry King, 33/1 Un Autre Espere ,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Most of these are out of form but both Silvergino and THIEVERY come here from recent wins. The latter won a better race in convincing fashion at Warwick on Monday and is preferred on a track where he has a good record.

Silvergino and Wild Power are non runners -does this open up things for Thievery? 1.91 / 1.19 - I may chance him with the new information that has come to light

110 HEREFORD
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Giorgio Quercus, 4/1 Solar Max, 8/1 Rock Me, 10/1 Jeffison, Morestead, 14/1 Mistress Eva, No To Trident, 20/1 Hurstpierpoint, 25/1 Bid Art, 33/1 Seconditis, 50/1 Coole Dodger, 100/1 Gainsborough´s Art, Janet´s Delight, Miss Mozart, Mysterious Green .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Solar Max is respected on his Ludlow run but Tony McCoy partners most of Charles Egerton's jumpers and it looks significant that he's aboard GIORGIO QUERCUS, who is probably the form choice anyway on his exploits in France

A slight price gap here but another juvenile novices hurdle and the ground may be riding soft - big field too

THat's it folks! a 14 runner novices hurdle. Spotlight's comments are interesting in that McCoy has jumped ship to the fav
1255 NAvan sees Pandorama a 4/7 shot in a 30 runner field - significant ? Soft ground and a maiden hurdle. WHy such a short price?

Anywhere else we can construct a bet?
Footy perhaps?
Well a treble with LAdbrokes on the shortest 3 in the coupon yields 1.42
FC Copenhagen - 1/6
Dynamo Kiev 1/8
Silkeborg 1/12

Of course the more teams included in an acca, the more difficult that acca is to accomplish

That's an option
From a horse racing perspective it's a no bet day ,
Blackburn v Chelsea the only game of interest for me in the Premiership for a Chelsea team seething at losing at home to Liverpool and being battered by Roma against a Blackburn whose manager I have no faith in at all.
At 9.6, Blackburn are layable with in running in mind to perhaps get back a small amount of the losses from yesterday.
Now you see why I advocate earning 0.2% of £1000 bank as this money allows us these kinds of lays
In the Silkeborg v Koge game, over 2.5 goals should come in for a team 1/12 to win and at 1.29 is certainly enticing although the market is illiquid.
Half time/fulltime Silkeborg with Ladbrokes is 1/6

All in all there is nothing rock solid in which to invest. Speculators can try the halftime/full time on the 1/12 shots but I would suggest to win back a small amount of losses yesterday - similarly the treble at 1.42 and laying Blackburn. Try all 3 to win back small % of losses from yesterday
BUT it must be said these bets are then inflexible bar the Blackburn lay as this is the only bet you can actually monitor and react to
