12/11

Nice place yesterday and the eagle eyes amongst you will have noticed a mention for market mover Sharidayn - guess what - he beat my place only selection into 1st place at a whopping 11/1 - these market movers in events like bumpers are really worth backing

125 BANGOR
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Coq Hardi, 11/4 Carrick Oscar, 3/1 Or Bleu, 8/1 Romping Home, 10/1 Stop The Show, 16/1 King Of Confusion, Thenford Trout, 25/1 Billy Murphy.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Peter Bowen expects COQ HARDI to take his form to a new level over fences this winter and the signs were encouraging at Aintree. Not that this will be straightforward, as Carrick Oscar was on a par with him over hurdles and there are others in here who shouldn't be long in opening their accounts in this discipline.

HEavy ground here so caution - 8 runner down to 7 runners now so potential for a probability bet here if Betfair still pay out 3 the place - price market indicates 4 strong market leaders - only one of these we need to place 3.2 / 1.44

230
BETTING FORECAST: 1/2 Black Jacari, 9/4 Mr Thriller, 14/1 Fujin Dancer, 20/1 Sparkling Montjeu, 33/1 High Coincidence, 100/1 Sonate De La Tour.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: It will be interesting to see the level of confidence behind Mr Thriller but he did run a very disappointing race only a month ago and the safe play is BLACK JACARI, who his trainer expects to improve with experience

Thornton/King on a hot pot always grabs my attention - only 2 the place in a maiden hurdle in heavy ground BUT one definite non contender at 100/1 and 2 others at 20/1 and 33/1 means we might be able to risk the hotpot to place BUT remember that we really have no margin for error 1.56 / 1.14

1210 SOUTHWELL
BETTING FORECAST: 8/11 Silent Wonder, 5/2 Positivity, 7/1 Dedante, 20/1 Lady Gem, 25/1 Fitz, You´relikemefrank, 33/1 Lemon Dash, Rocket Ruby, Wee Bizzom.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: SILENT WONDER clearly comes with risks having failed to justify favouritism on four occasions already, but this looks a gilt-edged opening with Positivity strictly held on last week's Nottingham clash

Now at 4/11 so expected to win and should place (there are no such things as sure things remember!) Looks an ideal race given the number of outsiders and a favourite who has been battered into 4/11 - just noticed positivity a non runner which explains the price so if still 3 the place this looks superb! 1.38 / 1.08

150
BETTING FORECAST: 4/5 Hometown, 11/2 Majestic Bull, 7/1 Marillos Proterras, 12/1 Assail, 14/1 Statute Book, 16/1 Art Discovery, Royal Keva, 20/1 Molesden Glen, 25/1 Broughton Beck, 33/1 Aziz, Ballade De La Mer, 50/1 First Blade, Ready To Prime.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: John Gosden doesn't have many runners here but the ones that are asked to tackle Fibresand usually handle it and HOMETOWN can build on her Yarmouth second and get off the mark at the third time of asking. Royal Keva could prove an interesting each-way alternative

Hometown a price gapper but a big field and a debutant on the fibresand 1.79 / 1.24

Everything looks in place for Silent wonder to place today at 1.08 - yes a nasty price. With nearest market rival out, 1.38 for the win is a little riskier but you should get a good run for your money ( to trade at a lower price in running)
