12pm -

1230pm -
Kilmarnock v Celtic - 1.39 away
HEAD TO HEADS

20.04.2011 PR Kilmarnock FC 0-4 Celtic FC
21.12.2010 PR Celtic FC 1-1 Kilmarnock FC

27.03.2010 PR Celtic FC 3-1 Kilmarnock FC
13.03.2010 Cup Kilmarnock FC 0-3 Celtic FC
Clean sheets in last 2 and they were away from home. Have conceded in 2 recent home head to heads but not dropped points.
LEAGUE POSITION - 3rd v 7th - Celtic have played 9 matches to Kilmarnock's 10. Celtic are 10 points behind Rangers already with a game in hand.

HOME TEAM - Celtic

RECENT HOME FORM - WLWW - the loss 0-1 v St Johnstone saw a missed Celtic 3rd minute penalty which obviously would have changed the dynamic of this match with Celtic scoring so early had it been converted. 3 wins have seen 2 goals scored in the first half, and the last 2 wins have been to nil.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWWLWWLWL - no draw for Celtic. Single home loss v St Johnstone a 0-1.Losses away have come against Rangers and Hearts .

GOAL TRENDS - 3 of Celtic's wins have been 2-0 which may scupper an overs trade UNLESS they continue the home habit of scoring 2 in the first half in their wins. 5 of Celtic's 6 wins have seen Celtic clean sheets.
Only 3 of 8 matches overs but see explanation above.

STREAKS - 9 overall without a draw. If we take out Rangers and Hearts ( likely top 3 sides) it's 6 wins and a 0-1 loss for celtic.

AWAY TEAM - Kilmarnock

RECENT AWAY FORM - DLDLL - look at Old Firm and see Rangers win 2-0. Draws away to Dundee United and Aberdeen both score draws. Losses against Inverness, St Mirren and Rangers. The latter 2 were without scoring.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DDWDLWDLLL - have only scored 1 in last 3 losses - 2 wins at home against current 10th and 11th ( of 12).

GOAL TRENDS - 6 of last 8 matches over 2.5 goals. An exception, 2-0 Rangers win, saw 2nd goal in 66th minute which I am sure would have signalled a successful overs trade. Have conceded in all of last 6.

STREAKS - no win in 5 away and have conceded in all 5 away.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - this looks like a Celtic win to nil if there are no injuries ( and I have not checked team news given my heavy weekend work load and the time I am doing this research) .Do note though that Kilmarnock have scored in their last 2 visits to Celtic, but Celtic have kept 2 away clean sheets in head to heads, 2 clean sheets in 2 most recent home wins, and Rangers won 2-0 when Killy visited.

1245pm -
Liverpool v Man Utd - 2.56 away - not a match to research in the conventional sense. Remember last weekend when I mentioned the unique aspect of derbies meaning quite simply these are " one off" matches and down to the best playing team on the day, NOT NECESSARILY ON FORM!
06.03.2011 PR Liverpool FC 3-1 Manchester United
09.01.2011 Cup Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool FC
19.09.2010 PR Manchester United 3-2 Liverpool FC
21.03.2010 PR Manchester United 2-1 Liverpool FC
25.10.2009 PR Liverpool FC 2-0 Manchester United
14.03.2009 PR Manchester United 1-4 Liverpool FC
Liverpool have won at home recently , and Man Utd have won at home recently in head to heads. Last 3 league meetings over 2.5 goals.
Liverpool are unbeaten at home and have conceded in all 3 home matches.
Man Utd are unbeaten all season. WWD away from home . They have conceded away against West Brom and Stoke .
A neutral goals bet might have legs in this match. One to savour rather than trade perhaps for me anyway, and any significant research will be spoilt by the unpredictability and uniqueness of a derby.
2pm - Lokomotiv Plovdiv v Svetkavitsa - 1.06 home
2pm -
Torino v Juve Stabia - 1.51 home
230pm -

14.02.2009 D1 Hertha BSC Berlin 2-1 Bayern München
31.08.2008 D1 Bayern München 4-1 Hertha BSC Berlin
No ultra recent head to heads, but a clear dominance, bar one match, and clear goalscoring from BAyern. All head to heads over 2.5 goals and 3/4 were over 3.5 goals. Bayern scored 4 and 5 in last 2 head to heads at home.
LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 10th after 8 matches.

HOME TEAM - Bayern

RECENT HOME FORM - LWWW - loss totally anomolous v Mgladbach on opening match of season. SInce then 5-0, 7-0, and 3-0 at home. Robben, Ribery and Gomez key goalscorers.

RECENT FORM OVERALL -LWWWWWWD - draw v Hoffenheim was a 0-0.

GOAL TRENDS - Bayern have kept a clean sheet in last 7 matches. Last 3 home matches over 2.5 goals but naturally reliant solely on Bayern.

STREAKS - 3 match winning streak at home, 4 without a draw at home, 7 without defeat overall and no goal conceded in 7.

AWAY TEAM - Hertha Berlin.

RECENT AWAY FORM - DDWL - win v Dortmund not as impressive as it sounds as the league winners last season are a sorry shadow this season, coming off the back of a 0-2 home defeat v WErder last night.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LDDWWDLW - 2 wins at home and 1 away.

GOAL TRENDS - last 4 matches over 2.5 goals. Hertha scored 1st in 3 of those matches.Only kept 2 clean sheets this season. Have scored in all of last 7 matches. Have scored 2-2-1-3 in last 4 matches but as far as their opponents are compared with Bayern at home, well that is a different matter!

STREAKS - have scored and conceded in all away matches. Have scored in last 7.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS -the key question for better odds today is whether BAyern will keep a clean sheet again. Hertha have scored in all of their last 7 matches. Recent trend is for over 2.5 goals but it might be reliant solely on Bayern if they shut out Hertha as they have done last 7 teams.

3pm -

05.10.2009 PR Aston Villa 1-1 Manchester City
04.03.2009 PR Manchester City 2-0 Aston Villa
Head to head dynamics changed somewhat by arrivals at both clubs in significant positions. e.g. Given and Bent at Villa along with a new manager. Dzeko and Aguero at City have been devastatingly effective ( Dzeko scored for Bosnia mid week too)
LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 7th after 7 matches

HOME TEAM - City - will see this as an ideal opportunity with United facing a tricky away derby earlier in the day.

RECENT HOME FORM - WWW - clean sheets in all wins at home. Have scored 7 of their 9 goals after the 60th minute in home matches. And against a wily defensive manager such as McLeish, and with Given between the sticks, this trend for late home goals may continue this afternoon?

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWWWDWW - draw saw City 0-2 up away from home and throw that away v Fulham

GOAL TRENDS - have scored 2 or more in all matches this season. 6/7 matches over 2.5 goals. 3/3 clean sheets at home. Have kept a clean sheet in 3 of last 4 matches.

STREAKS - 3 match home winning streak. Have scored in all of last 7 matches. No defeat in 7. Clean sheet in 3 home matches.

AWAY TEAM - Villa

RECENT AWAY FORM - DDD - a case of drawitis throughout for Villa. Last 2 draws score draws against Everton and QPR.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DWDDDDW - both wins at home against Blackburn and Wigan. Last 3 draws score draws.

GOAL TRENDS - only 2 matches over 2.5 goals down to 1-1 draws and 2-0 win. Villa are yet to meet the big teams this season-this will be a test of their apparent defensive capabilities and abilities not to lose at present.

STREAKS - 7 without defeat, have scored in their last 4 matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - this is the first real test for Villa this season against a top side.Only 1 away win against top 8 last season was 1-2 v Arse.Conceded 3 or more last season away to United, Chelsea and City. I don't really know how accurate last year will be because of the already mentioned wholesale changes in both teams in key positions. As I said about City last week, they seem backable at present along with over 2.5 goals. Be ware that City have scored an overwhelming proportion of home goals after the 60th minute. Good news for reactive traders and halftime score glancers.

3pm -
Norwich v Swansea - 2.26 home
HEAD TO HEADS
09.04.2011 LCh Swansea City 3-0 Norwich City
21.08.2010 LCh Norwich City 2-0 Swansea City
11.04.2009 LCh Swansea City 2-1 Norwich City
15.11.2008 LCh Norwich City 2-3 Swansea City
Not really relevant I would suggest. Also relays the fact both teams are closely matched.

LEAGUE POSITION - 9th v 10th - as if to emphasise the tightness and on exactly the same points.

HOME TEAM - Norwich

RECENT HOME FORM - DLW - scored first in the draw and win, lost 0-1 to a 3rd minute WBA goal. 2 home goals conceded in the 90th and 86th minute relays a problem with late goal concessions that is not new to promoted sides. YOU MUST FOCUS FOR 90+ MINUTES OR GET PUNISHED IN THIS LEAGUE.We saw this last season with all promoted sides' propensities for very very late goal concessions which sometimes proved fatal both with matches and staying up!

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DDLLWWL - a lack of consistency is a trader's nightmare!

GOAL TRENDS - they have conceded in all matches this season. 2 of last 3 matches over 2.5 goals, the exception the late late show for City ( 2-0).

STREAKS - 5 without a draw - have conceded in all of last 7 matches. Now before I move on to Swansea, let's look at Norwich's performances this season against what I term " championship sides" in the Premiership.
1-1 away to Wigan
1-1 at home to Stoke
0-1 loss to WBA
2-1 win against Sunderland.
We see a general unbeaten pattern against these kinds of teams.

AWAY TEAM - SWANSEA

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLL - but met Man City and Chelsea and Arsenal. The Arsenal match particularly unlucky.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LDDLWLW - the WLW has coincided with Swansea scoring goals for the first time this season. They have now scored in their last 3 when unable to do so in first 4.

GOAL TRENDS - 2 of last 3 matches over 2.5 goals. No real point doing a goals trend for away matches as City, Arsenal and Chelsea are slightly different opponents to Naaaaarich.

STREAKS - 3 match losing streak away, no draw in 4 matches.Again I feel it is important to look at performance solely against "Championship type" sides in the Premiership.
0-0 home to Wigan and Sunderland.
3-0 home win v WBA
2-0 home win v Stoke.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - far too tight to call and wholly unpredictable for me. Both sides have strong form against Championship style sides , and weighing it up made more difficult as Swansea have played these types of teams at home.

3pm -
Pero Pinheiro v Porto - 1.06 away - a strong home side will see this 1.06 translated into 4+ goals for a superb Porto side in the Portugeuse cup.

3pm -
QPR v Blackburn - 1.93 home
HEAD TO HEADS - no recent relevant head to heads.

LEAGUE POSITION - 11th v 19th of 20

HOME TEAM - QPR - started to spend the cash

RECENT HOME FORM - LDD - a general swing recently towards defense? 0-0 and 1-1 draw - the latter v Villa saw a penalty and an own goal in the 90th minute emphasising the defence rather than attacking .

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWLDWDL - again another wholly inconsistent side who make it, consequently, difficult for us to anticipate. Recent unforeseen 6-0 away loss to QPR backs this up.

GOAL TRENDS - have only scored 1 goal at home so far in 3 matches.80% of goals scored away from home.

STREAKS - current draw streak of 2.No win in 3 at home.

AWAY TEAM - BLACKBURN

RECENT AWAY FORM - LDL - draw v Fulham and losses v Newcastle and Villa.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLLDWLL - win was fortunate 4-3 away to Arse.

GOAL TRENDS - 3/4 home matches over 2.5 goals. Last 3 matches over 2.5 goals. 5/7 matches this season over 2.5 goals. 6/7 matches over 1.5 goals. Have conceded in every match this season and scored in 5/7 matches this season.

STREAKS - 3 without a win away. Have conceded in all 7 this season.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - I am researching all premiership matches, it doesn't mean I have an interest in them, and like Norwich v Swansea, this is a match for me personally to leave alone. Blackburn clearly have to poorest form on offer, but QPR are that most dangerous of sides - an inconsistent side! At home they have only scored 1 goal.

3pm -
Rangers v St Mirren - 1.22 home
HEAD TO HEADS
16.04.2011 PR Glasgow Rangers 2-1 St. Mirren
06.03.2011 PR St. Mirren 0-1 Glasgow Rangers
07.11.2010 PR St. Mirren 1-3 Glasgow Rangers
21.03.2010 LC Glasgow Rangers 1-0 St. Mirren
06.03.2010 PR Glasgow Rangers 3-1 St. Mirren
17.02.2010 Cup Glasgow Rangers 1-0 St. Mirren
A clean sweep for Rangers in head to heads. And a need to keep the pressure on Celtic . A nice gap between them and the Bhoys.
LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 6th after 10 matches.

HOME TEAM - Rangers

RECENT HOME FORM - DWWWW - a 1-1 draw with Hearts to start the season but back to business with home wins against Aberdeen, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Hibs.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWWWWWWWWW - look more reliable than the Bhoys at present.

GOAL TRENDS - have kept a clean sheet in 8 of last 9 matches and only conceded v top 3 sides Hearts and Celtic. 4 2-0 scorelines and a 1-1 somewhat scupper the over 2.5 goals trend. 15/22 goals scored this season have been scored in the 2nd half, so have no fear if 0-0 at halftime.

STREAKS - 9 match winning streak. 10 without defeat. Have scored in all of last 10. Outside of top 3 teams, have not conceded in 8 matches.

AWAY TEAM - St Mirren

RECENT AWAY FORM - DDWLL - sole win 1-2 v Hibs - losses away against Inverness and Hearts.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DWDLWLDLWL - another inconsistent side. Important to take Old Firm games as separate from others (and perhaps include Hearts here?) - 2-0 home loss to Celtic and 2-0 away loss to HEarts.

GOAL TRENDS - 7/10 matches under 2.5 goals. Last 2 matches over 2.5 goals. Matches against Old Firm and Hearts saw only 2 goals scored and none scored by St Mirren. Have failed to score in 5 matches this season and in 3 of last 5, including against Celtic and Hearts.

STREAKS - 3 without a draw - have conceded in last 4 away matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - 2-0 Rangers win stands out based on performances of Celtic and Hearts this season. This ties in with Rangers superb run without conceding outside of top 3. St Mirren have not scored against any of the current top 4 they have played home and away. A slight lack of confidence re the over 2.5 goals as this could end 2-0 with a 2nd half 2nd goal. It all hinges on that 2nd goal time as far as a successful trade is concerned.

3pm -
Stoke v Fulham - 2.22 home - in a tough weekend for Premiership fixtures generally ( Norwich v Swansea and QPR v Blackburn wholly unappetising for this trader) here is another head scratcher!

05.01.2010 PR Stoke City 3-2 Fulham FC
25.04.2009 PR Fulham FC 1-0 Stoke City
Head to heads evenly spread. Fulham win, Stoke win, Stoke win, Stoke win, Fulham win, Fulham win. Fulham won the last 2 head to heads home and away 2-0. WWL for Stoke at home to Fulham
LEAGUE POSITION - 8th v 12th after 7 matches.

HOME TEAM - Stoke

RECENT HOME FORM - DWD - 0-0 v Chelsea, 1-0 v Liverpool and 1-1 v Man Utd, thanks to Crouch, the recent signing. Great defensive displays against the big boys but how will they perform against the meat and potatoes teams?

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DDWWLDL - superb 1-1 home draw v United sandwiched between appalling 4-0 defeat away to Sunderland and 2-0 loss away to Swansea - Jekyll and Hyde home and away. Where is that renowned defensive capability in those 2 away losses?

GOAL TRENDS - only 1 over 2.5 goals match was the 4-0 defeat to Sunderland. Stoke have not scored more than 1 goal this season. They have failed to score in 2 of last 3 matches. Have conceded only 1 goal at home.

STREAKS - 3 without defeat at home. Have conceded in last 3 matches.

AWAY TEAM - Fulham

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLD - losses v Wolves 2-0 and Newcastle 2-1 saw first goal conceded after 40th minute. Draw 0-0 away to WBA.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DLLDDDW - out of the blue 6-0 home thrashing of QPR. Andy Johnson a welcome returnee? Goals shared this season generally by Dempsey, Zamora and now Johnson in the last match. Is he the catalyst?

GOAL TRENDS- 3/7 matches over 2.5 goals - 50/50 really and dependent, it would suggest, on opposition. Have kept a clean sheet in last 2.

STREAKS - 4 without defeat - a turning point? 2 and 6 scored in last 2 home matches suggest they would prefer to be playing this at home in current form.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Stoke have shown against the best teams in the country that they will be very hard to beat at home. But what about against weaker opposition? And what of Fulham's recent goalscoring ( albeit at home) - the return of Andy Johnson a catalyst today at Fortress Stoke. Head to heads cannot split them and recent out of the blue results ( Stoke losing 4-0 away at Sunderland and Fulham 6-0 at home v QPR) further compound the headscratching.
Instinct will tell you Stoke at home = unders but these recent results are a concern ( I acknowledge the Stoke ones occured away and the Fulham one at home)

3pm -
Tavriya v Shakhtar - 1.4 away
3pm -
West Ham v Blackpool - 1.88 home - I'm going to be following West Ham this season .
HEAD TO HEADS
02.02.2011 PR Blackpool FC 1-3 West Ham
13.11.2010 PR West Ham 0-0 Blackpool FC
Premiership head to heads only and different teams now with changes in personnel and both relegated.
LEAGUE POSITION - 4th v 8th after 10 matches.

HOME TEAM - West Ham

RECENT HOME FORM - LDWWL - the losses v CArdiff and Ipswich saw a 90th and 89th minute concession which must leave Big Sam seething. Draw against Leeds again saw a 90th minute equaliser which scuppered the West Ham 3 points. And Portsmouth also scored a 90th minute goal in their 4-3 loss to West Ham It seems they feel pressured playing at home. Playing 8th today and have lost 0-1 to 10th and 11th and drawn 2-2 with 5th

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWDWWDWLD - 3 wins and 2 draws away.

GOAL TRENDS - UOOUU at home ( u = unders , 0=overs)

STREAKS - no win in 2 , no draw in 3 at home.

AWAY TEAM - Blackpool

RECENT AWAY FORM - WDDLD - WIn 0-1 v Hull saw an 81st minute goal, 2-2 draw with Brighton saw an 89th minute Blackpool goal.2-2 draw with Coventry saw a 90th minute goal. You get the idea! And there's West Ham conceding in the 90th minute at home pretty much in every match! All 3 away draws were score draws.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWLDDWDLDW - inconsistent overall form and an inability to string together any kind of positive sequence.

GOAL TRENDS - concede and score 1.2 on average so far away from home. No strong goals trend , again depends on the team they are playing.Last 2 matches over 2.5 goals. Have failed to score in only 2 matches this season. Good stat from soccerstats. 89% of Blackpool's conceded goals happened in the 2nd half.

STREAKS -no win in 4 away. Have conceded in all 4 away.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - could this be the late late show again? Look how many times West Ham concede in the 90th minute and look how many times Blackpool have managed to score last ditch goals away. REACTIVE traders take note. Lay the outcome coming into the 90th minute at ultra short odds for a throwaway speculative punt that this late trend continues. Any manager worth his salt though will have seen this late concession rate and try to fix it . West Ham would be unbeaten this season at home and have an extra 7 points if they played until the 88th minute only!!
Apart from this there are no strong trends goalswise. 89% of Blackpool's goals conceded in the 2nd half so watch out if 0-0 halftime. Looks like West Ham are faltering under the pressure of playing at home .

3pm -
Wigan v Bolton - 2.48 home - another match with little appeal but one I will research as it is a Premiership match. I do, though, have a theory that Wigan are vulnerable against established Premiership sides, of which Bolton is one I suppose. But then Bolton are on a dire run at present.

HEAD TO HEADS
16.02.2011 Cup Wigan Athletic 0-1 Bolton Wanderers
29.01.2011 Cup Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Wigan Athletic
05.01.2011 PR Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Wigan Athletic
23.10.2010 PR Wigan Athletic 1-1 Bolton Wanderers
13.03.2010 PR Bolton Wanderers 4-0 Wigan Athletic
17.02.2010 PR Wigan Athletic 0-0 Bolton Wanderers
Ignoring the cup matches, there have been 3 draws and an anomolous Bolton win on my birthday last year.
LEAGUE POSITION - 18th v 20th in the league so already a must win for teams on 5 and 3 points after 7 matches.

HOME TEAM - Wigan

RECENT HOME FORM - DWL - 1-1 with Norwich , 2-0 v QPR and 1-2 loss to Spurs, hence my assumption that Wigan are fine against promoted sides but are found out against the established Premiership sides.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DDWLLLL - first 3 matches? Against newcomers. Last 4 matches? Against City, Everton, Spurs and Villa. Conceded 3-3-2-2 in those matches, only one of which was at home.

GOAL TRENDS - 3 of the last 4 matches have been over 2.5 goals. Have conceded in last 4 matches and failed to score in 2 of the last 4.

STREAKS - 4 match losing streak, no win in 5 matches.Have conceded in all of last 4.

AWAY TEAM - Bolton

RECENT AWAY FORM - WLL - win over QPR, loss to Liverpool and Arsenal conceding 3 on each occasion.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WLLLLLL - Bolton have been extremely unlucky with the fixture list which may point to their CURRENT lowly position ( the key word being " current"). They have played the likes of Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd in their first 7 matches. I expect to see a gradual improvement now the top sides are out of the way for the time being.

GOAL TRENDS - all matches over 2.5 goals this season but remember what I just said about the calibre of opponents in the first 7 matches. This trend might not continue against weaker opponents who will score fewer goals. Have conceded in last 6 matches, but those matches featured the top 5 sides.

STREAKS - lost the last 6 matches, and 4 at home.Have conceded in all of last 6 matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - my concern with Bolton is that we need to look at their current position in the context of the teams they have met in their first 7 matches. Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City have all been opponents in the first 7 matches. This is just an anomoly with the fixture list, and I would expect an improvement from Bolton as they face those outside of the big top 5 teams. Against the same teams last year, Bolton lost 8/10 matches, drew 2-2 away at United and beat Arse 2-1 at Arse.
So no immediate panic. I suggest these losses were inevitable and now out of the way, we can see the true Bolton. That said, they did not beat any of the top 16 away last season.
This is another match with little personal interest. Are Bolton an " established" premiership side. I suspect we may see a better performance from Bolton today.

4pm -
CSKA Sofia v Slavia Sofia - 1.27 home
4pm -

5pm -
Catania v Inter - 2.24 away - knee jerk reaction? You would not have seen Inter at this price with the Special One at the helm.

13.09.2008 D1 Inter Milan 2-1 Calcio Catania
A general dominance from Inter Milan . 5/6 matches over 2.5 goals. WLW at Catania for Inter.
LEAGUE POSITION - 11th v 17th. Again we must contextualise this position of Inter's ( as we had to do with Bolton). Inter had a poor manager to start the campaign and have not swapped to Ranieri who it is hoped will bring Inter back on track. Only 5 matches gone in the league so far.

HOME TEAM - Catania

RECENT HOME FORM - DWD - 0-0 v Siena, 1-1 v Juve and 1-0 win v Cesena. Typically Italian defensive display, albeit we cannot be conclusive as there have only been 3 home matches played.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWLDD - loss away to Genoa.

GOAL TRENDS - Catania have 2 over 2.5 goal matches away from home. Have conceded 3 in each of those 2 away matches. All other matches unders. 2 clean sheets in 3 at home.

STREAKS - 3 without defeat at home.

AWAY TEAM - Inter

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLW - the win 1-3 v Bologna was under the new manager.4-3 loss to Palermo and 3-1 loss to Novara were under old manager.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LDLWL - 3-0 loss to Napoli last time quite a shock.

GOAL TRENDS - 4/5 matches over 2.5 goals.

STREAKS - no draw in 3 and have conceded in last 3 matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - only 5 matches gone, a change of manager and another tough match to get an angle into because of this transition Inter side. This may start tight in a typical Italian fashion, so that might be the angle in. Check the Inter team news. I could not find any team news as I write this.

HEAD TO HEADS

No recent relevant head to heads can spell danger on occasion.
LEAGUE POSITION - 3rd v 7th after 6 matches.

HOME TEAM - Real Madrid

RECENT HOME FORM - WW - 4-2 v Getafe and 6-2 v Rayo Vallecano.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWLDWW - LD away .Scored 6-4-0-0-6-4 - 0-0 coincided with the LD you see in the middle of the wins.

GOAL TRENDS - over 5.5 goals in both home matches. Have conceded 2 goals in both home matches.

STREAKS - 2 match home winning streak.

AWAY TEAM - Betis

RECENT AWAY FORM - WWL - 0-1 v Granada, 2-3 v Bilbao and 1-0 loss to Getafe.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WWWWLL - no draw this season. Last 2 losses both 1-0 v Getafe and Levante.

GOAL TRENDS - 4/6 matches under 2.5 goals. Have failed to score in last 2 matches.

STREAKS - 6 without a draw - have conceded in last 4 matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - slight concern with teams with no recent history that the away team just might surprise. The market expects Real to score 3/4 or more. We only have 2 home matches to go on, but they have averaged 5 in those 2 matches. Only 1 draw for both sides in all their matches.

Head to heads certainly don't reflect the dominance that a 1.4 quote should. But then does it reflect the Chelsea team post transfer?
LEAGUE POSITION - 3rd v 13th - Everton have played one fewer match.

HOME TEAM - Chelsea

RECENT HOME FORM - WWW - 2-1 v WBA - v lucky , 3-1 v Norwich - 2 goals scored in 82nd and 90th minute , 4-1 v Swansea - a little more emphatic. Chelsea have not really met any established Premiership opponents at home just yet and still they have conceded in their 3 home matches against 2 newcomers and the boing boing baggies.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - DWWWLWW - draw 0-0 away to Stoke and loss was 3-1 away to United. Bolton, Sunderland, Swansea, Norwich, West BRom, Stoke are what I would term " championship style" sides and therefore sides you would expect Chelsea to win. So, in stark contrast to Bolton, Chelsea are really yet to meet any stern opposition.

GOAL TRENDS - last 6 matches over 2.5 goals have seen Chelsea score and concede in each match.

STREAKS - 3 match home winning streak.6 without a draw. Have conceded in last 6 matches.

AWAY TEAM - Everton

RECENT AWAY FORM - WL - win was a 90th minute penalty against Blackburn and loss was v Man City with 2 2nd half goals.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LWDWLL - losses against QPR, Man City and Liverpool. Losses against City and Pool saw latish 2nd half goals, and you get the feeling it could be the late late show from the late late specialists today( Chelsea). Wins against Blackburn v lucky and v Wigan ( expected) tell us nothing new.

GOAL TRENDS - only 2 overs matches, both at home. Have conceded in all bar 1 match this season.

STREAKS - have conceded in all of last 4, 3 overall without a draw.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - Chelsea , for me, have not met any strong teams to stretch them at home. everton I suspect, will make life difficult. We have little to go on, of course, form wise.
Instinctually, for me, this is going to be a match deciding more in the 2nd half than the first. It could follow the Everton matches against City and Liverpool. 2-0 loss with second half goals.
Expectations for a tight first half and a potential perhaps for a 0-0 correct score back to lay trade - as ever stay in for as long as you dare. For Chelsea, it is good news that Arse Banjo Torres is out , as Sturridge is a more reliable striker. For Everton , a big miss if CAhill does not play.

530pm -
Rapid Vienna v FC Wiener Neustadt - 1.32 home
530pm -
Schalke v Kaiserslautern - 1.52 home
HEAD TO HEADS
23.04.2011 D1 Schalke 04 0-1 Kaiserslautern
27.11.2010 D1 Kaiserslautern 5-0 Schalke 04
29.01.2006 D1 Kaiserslautern 0-2 Schalke 04
advantage Kaiser last 2 matches
LEAGUE POSITION - 5th v 16th after 8 matches.

HOME TEAM - Schalke

RECENT HOME FORM - WWLW - sole loss v Bayern Munich.Beat Cologne, Freiburg and Mgladbach

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWWLLWW- 2 of the 3 losses were away losses.

GOAL TRENDS - 6/8 matches over 2.5 goals but 2 matches unders were at home. Have scored 4-4-2 against 14th, 15th and 18th ( kaiser are 16th) - have conceded in all matches bar 1 this season.

STREAKS - 8 overall without a draw, 4 at home. Have conceded in all of last 4 and overs in 3 of last 4 matches.

AWAY TEAM - Kaiserslautern

RECENT AWAY FORM - LDLL - draw was 1-1 v Koln. Lost away to 3rd and 4th without scoring, playing 5th today

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LDDLLWLL - win at home v 14th.

GOAL TRENDS - have failed to score in 4 of the last 5.only 2 matches over 2.5 goals and they occured at home.

STREAKS - no draw in 5, have conceded in all of last 8 matches.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - for me, Kaiserslautern's inability to score a goal in 4 of their last 5 matches could be the key here. It helped them lose 4 of their last 5.
3 losses in last 4 away for Kaiser away plays a team with 3 wins in 4. NO draw so far this season for Schalke should continue with a potential win to nil this afternoon.

PART 2

545pm -
Ajax v AZ Alkmaar - 1.75 home
HEAD TO HEADS
06.03.2011 D1 AFC Ajax 4-0 AZ Alkmaar
23.12.2010 Cup AFC Ajax 1-0 AZ Alkmaar
14.11.2010 D1 AZ Alkmaar 2-0 AFC Ajax
24.01.2010 D1 AFC Ajax 1-0 AZ Alkmaar
25.10.2009 D1 AZ Alkmaar 2-4 AFC Ajax
26.04.2009 D1 AFC Ajax 1-1 AZ Alkmaar
Ajax unbeaten at home but AZ may be a different animal this season.
LEAGUE POSITION - 4th v 1st after 8 matches

HOME TEAM - Ajax

RECENT HOME FORM - -WWD - 5-1, 5-1 and 1-1 v Twente. Are AZ now to be lumped in with PSV/Twente?

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWDWWDDL - sole loss 1-0 away to Groningen. Draws against PSV and Twente for Ajax not unexpected.

GOAL TRENDS - 6 over 2.5 goals ended with 1-1 and 1-0 last 2 matches. Have conceded in all matches this season and failed to score in only 1. Automatically over 1.5 goals?

STREAKS - no defeat in 3 at home, have conceded in last 8 matches.

AWAY TEAM - AZ - topping the league and you will see why.

RECENT AWAY FORM - LWWW - sole loss this season 2-0 away to Twente

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WLWWWWWW - all bar the 2-0 loss over 2.5 goals. All matches therefore over 1.5 goals. Failed to score in only that one loss.

GOAL TRENDS - 4 over 2.5 goals at home. All bar 1 over 2.5 goals.

STREAKS - 6 match winning streak. No draw in 8.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - AZ have lost to Twente - now our ability to profit from this match will be based on this. Is this a hint that AZ are vulnerable to PSV and Ajax? AZ did beat PSV at home 3-1. Goals the safer option? The neutral bet. Quite clearly AZ are in the form of their life here and have a win/loss against the hallowed triumvirate ( PSV/AJAX/TWENTE) hence my preference for neutral goals.

7pm -
Barcelona v Santander - 1.08 home
HEAD TO HEADS
22.01.2011 D1 FC Barcelona 3-0 Racing Santander
29.08.2010 D1 Racing Santander 0-3 FC Barcelona
20.02.2010 D1 FC Barcelona 4-0 Racing Santander
22.09.2009 D1 Racing Santander 1-4 FC Barcelona
01.02.2009 D1 Racing Santander 1-2 FC Barcelona
3/4 goals scored and a clean sheet about right for the 1.08 quote ( infact I would expect 5+ with a sub 1.10 quote)
LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 18th

HOME TEAM - Barca

RECENT HOME FORM - WWW - 5-8-5 scored without conceding - devastating - hence the 1.08 quote.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WDWDWW - draws both 2-2 and both away from home.

GOAL TRENDS - all home matches over 4.5 goals at home. All bar last match over 3.5 goals. No goals conceded at home .

STREAKS - 3 match home winning streak, no concession at home, all bar 1 match over 3.5 goals.

AWAY TEAM - Racing

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLD - losses conceding 4 goals against current 5th and 8th

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LDLDDD - what do we make of the 3 0-0 scorelines and 1-1 latest. 0-0 away v Real Madrid but Madrid were having trouble away.

GOAL TRENDS - have failed to score in 4 of 6 this season - have kept a clean sheet in 3 of last 5.

STREAKS - no win this season for Santander. 3 match draw streak.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - will this be a 0-0 or an away match like the ones in which Santander conceded 4 in 2 different matches.
The odds suggest they will likely concede 4 or more but Santander have shown they can be tough to beat. But this is a Barca side who have scored 5-8-5 at home without conceding

PSV v Utrecht - 1.22 home
HEAD TO HEADS
20.03.2011 D1 PSV Eindhoven 1-0 FC Utrecht
07.11.2010 D1 FC Utrecht 1-2 PSV Eindhoven
03.02.2010 D1 PSV Eindhoven 2-1 FC Utrecht
04.10.2009 D1 FC Utrecht 0-0 PSV Eindhoven
last 4 head to heads tighter than today's odds might suggest.
LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 9th

HOME TEAM - PSV

RECENT HOME FORM - WWDW - draw was 2-2 v Utrecht.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWWDDWW - sole loss away to AZ. - draws saw PSV 2-0 up and 1-0 and 2-1 up against Ajax.

GOAL TRENDS - have scored 2 or more in last 6 matches. 5 of last 6 matches over 2.5 goals. The exception was a 2-0 win latest. Have scored in all matches this season

STREAKS - 4 without defeat at home, 7 overall. Have scored in all 8 matches this season.

AWAY TEAM - UTRECHT

RECENT AWAY FORM - DLWL - win was 2-3 v Excelsior - losses v Vitesse and Breda

RECENT OVERALL FORM - DDLWWDLW - yet to play any of the big 3 this season ( PSV/AJAX/TWENTE)

GOAL TRENDS - 6 of last 7 matches over 2.5 goals.

STREAKS - 3 away without a draw, have conceded in last 3 away.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - the key for me is the fact Utrecht have not met any of the big guns this season. Last season they only won 3 away, 1 was against Ajax. Against top 10, away results of WLLLLDLLLD. PSV are in strong goalscoring form, averaging 2 at least per match of late. I am concerned, though, with head to heads which relay tightness and a maximum loss to Utrecht of a single goal , be it a 1-0 or 2-1. Does recent form supercede head to heads. That is the conundrum. PSV look worthy of that price though.

8pm -
Famalicao v Sp Lisbon - 1.19 away - Portugeuse cup and you either take an opinion that the obvious away win will occur or leave alone.
