11/10

Not a bad haul yesterday for the Germans - over 6.5 goals in with ease ( 5-0 at half time) - 1.01 shots are backable after all!!
You see the problem we have entering leagues we know nothing about based on form over 11 games. Oldham an unexpected 2-0 up against MK Dons. I did not play this match because it is not a league I focus on.
Enhanced bet in the Etoile match as Geylang scored first ( always a chance they could have held for an 8th 1-0 in 15 matches) but Etoile equalised and went on to win.

http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro2012/news/newsid=1693894.html gives us the state of play in all of the Euro matches this evening. Great reading and I will incorporate below in the matches .

1145am - Japan v Tajikistan - 1.06 home - World Cup qualifier.
Fri02/09/11WQAJapan 1 - 0Korea DPR

Tue06/09/11WQAUzbekistan 1 - 1Japan
Unbeaten but unimpressive. Have scored a single goal in both recent world cup qualifiers.
Unbeaten at home in 14 World Cup Asia qualifiers.
DDWDW in last 5 though may be a cause for concern?JApan have only managed to score 1 in 5 of last 6 matches, the other a 0-0. All matches easily under 2.5 goals.
90th minute winner against Korea after Koreans had a red card.
1-1 v Qatar - Japan's goal was an own goal.
Tends to be a story of unimpressive attacking ability.
Sat06/06/09WQAUzbekistan 0 - 1Japan

Wed17/06/09WQABahrain 1 - 0Uzbekistan

Sat23/07/11WQAUzbekistan 4 - 0Kyrgyzstan

Thu28/07/11WQAKyrgyzstan 0 - 3Uzbekistan

Fri02/09/11WQATajikistan 0 - 1Uzbekistan

Tue06/09/11WQAUzbekistan 1 - 1Japan

Good form but questionable opposition. 1-1 draw at home to Japs saw Uzbek score first and the Japs are 1.06!!!
Wed15/10/08WQAJapan 1 - 1Uzbekistan

Wed01/04/09WQAAustralia 2 - 0Uzbekistan

Wed17/06/09WQABahrain 1 - 0Uzbekistan

Thu28/07/11WQAKyrgyzstan 0 - 3Uzbekistan

Fri02/09/11WQATajikistan 0 - 1Uzbekistan

Lost their last 2 and failed to score against Superpowers Kyrgyzstan( who would only win on a scrabble board!) and Tajikistan.
I suppose these defeats against this type of opposition in 2011 could go some way to explaining Japan's odds.

At such short odds, and with a generally poor attacking record, 1.06 is layable as a bet to nothing. You might, though, not get much movement as it remains 0-0.
Japan are unbeaten at home in World Cup Asia qualifiers though so worse case is a draw.
1.06 as you know usually indicates goals but how reliable are the Japs attacking wise? Could be a simple functional win.
12pm -
South Korea v U.A.E. - 1.19 home
Only 2 losses in 28 World Cup qualifiers since 2004 were both against Saudi Arabia.
8 draws in last 15 though for Korea.
Fri02/09/11WQAKorea Republic 6 - 0Lebanon

Tue06/09/11WQAKuwait 1 - 1Korea Republic
Unbeaten in this campaign.
Only 1 Korea loss in 14 home matches in World Cup qualifiers
Only 1 win in last 13 qualifiers for UAE was against India.
Sat23/07/11WQAUAE 3 - 0India

Thu28/07/11WQAIndia 2 - 2UAE

Fri02/09/11WQAUAE 2 - 3Kuwait

Tue06/09/11WQALebanon 3 - 1UAE

All 2011 matches over 2.5 goals. UAE have conceded 2-3-3 in last 3 matches. Collateral form? Korea beat Lebanon 6-0. Lebanon beat UAE 3-1.
Thu28/07/11WQAIndia 2 - 2UAE

Tue06/09/11WQALebanon 3 - 1UAE

5 losses in last 6 for UAE - draw w unimpressive India actually saw UAE 0-2 up.

Tue07/09/10UUCPoland U21 0 - 1Spain U21

Tue06/09/11UUCPoland U21 0 - 2Russia U21

Have failed to score in last 3 but have faced strong opposition at home.
Tue17/11/09UUCAlbania U21 1 - 2Belarus U21

Sat04/09/10UUCAzerbaijan U21 3 - 2Albania U21

Fri02/09/11UUCAlbania U21 0 - 3Poland U21

Tue06/09/11UUCAlbania U21 4 - 3Moldova U21

Wed09/09/09UUCAustria U21 3 - 1Albania U21

Wed14/10/09UUCBelarus U21 4 - 2Albania U21

Sat04/09/10UUCAzerbaijan U21 3 - 2Albania U21

Have lost last 6 matches away in Euros conceding 2-4-5-3-4-3.
Last 7 matches over 2.5 goals.

Not much to go on. 2 poor teams but a clear 0-3 away win for Poland should be replicated at home ( despite the fact they are yet to score at home in current campaign)

Tue07/09/10UUCItaly U21 1 - 0Wales U21

Fri08/10/10UUCItaly U21 2 - 0Belarus U21

First 2011 home match today. 4 clean sheets in last 5 and 6 clean sheets in last 8 endemic it seems in Italian sides!
Sun23/05/10UUCEstonia U21 1 - 0Turkey U21

Wed26/05/10UUCSwitzerland U21 0 - 2Turkey U21

Wed26/05/10UUCSwitzerland U21 0 - 2Turkey U21

Fri02/09/11UUCLiechtenstein U21 0 - 3Turkey U21

2/3 wins away -wins without conceding. How are Italy to be compared with Swiss and Liech?
1.58 tells us that Italy have the advantage but it's going to be a tough match and Turks could get something.
Not a match for me to shortlist I think. There seem to be better, more readable matches, elsewhere.

5pm -
Bulgaria U21 v Luxembourg U21 - 1.13 home
Wed03/03/10UUCMontenegro U21 2 - 0Bulgaria U21

Tue07/09/10UUCBulgaria U21 0 - 1Sweden U21

Thu01/09/11UUCBulgaria U21 0 - 1Netherlands U21

Mon05/09/11UUCScotland U21 0 - 0Bulgaria U21

Recent form for Bulgaria - LLLD so this match, against poor opposition, becomes something of a must win.
Bulgarians have failed to score in last 5 matches in Euros.
Tue07/09/10UUCBulgaria U21 0 - 1Sweden U21

Thu01/09/11UUCBulgaria U21 0 - 1Netherlands U21

90th and 78th minute winners against Bulgaria tells us they are defensively solid and this most likely to opening the score ( if there is to be a goal!!!).
31 matches in Euros for Luxembourg, 3 draws, 1 win and the rest defeats. Failed to score in 22 of those matches.
Tue 02/03/10 UUC Luxembourg U21 0 - 1 Bosnia-Herzego…

Thu 01/09/11 UUC Luxembourg U21 1 - 4 Austria U21

Tue 06/09/11 UUC Netherlands U21 4 - 0 Luxembourg U21

Thu 06/10/11 UUC Luxembourg U21 1 - 5 Scotland U21

Have scored in 2 of last 3 defeats. Have conceded 4-4-5 in last 3.
Fri04/09/09UUCBosnia-Herzego… 0 - 1Luxembourg U21

Tue08/09/09UUCItaly U21 2 - 0Luxembourg U21

Tue06/09/11UUCNetherlands U21 4 - 0Luxembourg U21

Beat Bosnia 0-1 but they were down to 9 men.
Failed to score in 2 recent aways.
How are Bulgaria compared with Italy and Netherlands?

Luxembourg highly unlikely to get anything . The question is regarding Bulgaria's attacking prowess ( or lack thereof) - they have failed to score in last 3 home. Odds, as you know, do indicate 3/4 goal win to nil.
6pm -
Croatia v Latvia - 1.18 home
Group F
Greece's 2-0 win against Croatia in the meeting of the leading pair took the 2004 champions back to the top with a two-point lead. A draw in Georgia would ensure Greece first place regardless of Croatia's result against Latvia. However, Croatia still have the possiblity of finishing as best runners-up on goal difference with victory should Sweden fail to win, there is not a draw between Denmark and Portugal, and Russia do not lose to Andorra and finish second in their pool.
Goals on the menu this evening for Croatia?

03.09.2010 ECQ Latvia 0-3 Croatia
in head to heads pretty much reflects today's 1.18 quote ( 3/4 goal win sometimes to nil)

Fri03/09/10EUCLatvia 0 - 3Croatia

Tue07/09/10EUCCroatia 0 - 0Greece

Fri02/09/11EUCMalta 1 - 3Croatia

Tue06/09/11EUCCroatia 3 - 1Israel

Fri07/10/11EUCGreece 2 - 0Croatia

Greece may be the undoing of Croatia this campaign. Croatia have scored 3 goals on 4 occasions and should be able to do so again with home advantage.

Tue06/09/11EUCLatvia 1 - 1Greece

Fri07/10/11EUCLatvia 2 - 0Malta

Croatia the only team to win by 2 or more goals. Solid defensive display by Latvia last 3 matches saw only a very late Greek goal scored. But it looks as if Croatia are a step ahead?
Tue07/09/10EUCMalta 0 - 2Latvia

Fri08/10/10EUCGreece 1 - 0Latvia

Sat26/03/11EUCIsrael 2 - 1Latvia

Fri02/09/11EUCGeorgia 0 - 1Latvia

all tight away matches this campaign. Have scored in 3 of 4 - no surprise not to score against Greece.

Must win for Croatia, have scored 3 goals in 4 matches this campaign, need a win, have home advantage, and goal difference might be key this evening. No draw in 12 away for Latvia all points to a 3/4 goal win to nil .
6pm - Georgia v Greece - 1.92 away - worth looking at as Greece are very defensive.
Group F
Greece's 2-0 win against Croatia in the meeting of the leading pair took the 2004 champions back to the top with a two-point lead. A draw in Georgia would ensure Greece first place regardless of Croatia's result against Latvia.

The draw is all that is required for these dour, dull defensive Greeks.
1-1 in last meeting in Sept 2010.

Under 2.5 goals specialists it would seem this Georgia side. Only overs match was against Croatia.
A strong trend towards goals being scored in the 2nd half in Georgia matches.

Fri08/10/10EUCGeorgia 1 - 0Malta

Sat26/03/11EUCGeorgia 1 - 0Croatia

Fri02/09/11EUCGeorgia 0 - 1Latvia

All 4 home matches under 1.5 goals and impressive 1-0 win v Croatia. 2 of the goals scored for Georgia to win were scored in the 90th minute. So any traders take note of possible late goals.

Unbeaten this campaign and no surprise for this defensive outfit. 7 under 2.5 goals matches.
Greece have scored 8 of their goals in the 2nd half. The only match featuring them scoring 2 in the first half was v a poor Malta side.
Have only lost 1 in last 17 away matches.
Tue07/09/10EUCCroatia 0 - 0Greece

Sat26/03/11EUCMalta 0 - 1Greece

Fri02/09/11EUCIsrael 0 - 1Greece

Tue06/09/11EUCLatvia 1 - 1Greece

3 under 1.5 goals away matches is identical to Georgia's home matches.

So, Greece need a draw, both sides have strong trends towards under 2.5 goals. 0-0 or 1-1 for speculators. Traders may chance 0-0 back pre match to trade in play as this could be a match for 2nd half goals as both sides are characterised by 2nd half scoring and conceding.
Georgia did score first when they last met, so enhanced traders take note.

6pm - Germany v Belgium - 1.36 home - well Germany did not need to win last time out, neither did Spain, but both won and won well. Is it a case that teams that don't have to win at International Level, still play with professionalism? After all you are representing your country?
Group A
Group winners Germany beat Turkey on Friday to allow Belgium to take second place by one point with victory against Kazakhstan. To ensure a play-off berth, Belgium, playing in Germany, must match or better Turkey's result against Azerbaijan. If they end level, Turkey have the superior head-to-head.
It looks as if Turkey have the easier assignment as it seems Germany will not relent even though this is a dead rubber to them.

Fri25/03/11EUCAustria 0 - 2Belgium

Have scored 2 in all away matches so far. Be lucky if they can do so against Germany.
I bet Belgium wished the Germans would take their foot off the gas. Unlikely to do so. Any solace in the 0-1 loss - a 51st minute German goal , being indicative of Belgian defensive capabilities? But Germans are a different animal at home.

6pm - Liechtenstein U21 v Rep of Ireland U21 - 1.18 away

A match which is a dead rubber so approach with caution. Better, I suspect, to focus on matches where teams have something to play for.

Conceded 6-3-4-2 but scored in 3 of 4 aways.

Turkey must win, have home advantage, and Azer have lost 22 of last 24 Euro away matches. The 1-0 win against Turkey must be anomolous surely? 1.12 signals a win by 3/4 or more and possibly to nil but Azer have scored in 3 of 4 away matches.

645pm - Russia v Andorra - 1.02 home - you saw what the German nippers did at 1.01 yesterday( well they were unbackable to be honest).
Group B
Russia's 1-0 win in Slovakia not only eliminated their opponents but left Dick Advocaat's side on the verge of the finals, two points ahead of the Republic of Ireland and three clear of Armenia, who cannot qualify automatically. On Tuesday Russia only need a point at home to Andorra to make sure of first place even if Ireland beat Armenia, that match in Dublin looking more a straight contest for a play-off. Even if Russia lose, they could still be best runners-up.

1 1-0 losses most un -Andorra like. Both goals came in 2nd half in those 2-0's.

1.02 tells you this should be a 3/4 goal win, but psychologically Russia only need to ensure a simple win.Always dangerous when we are equating odds with goals.

715pm -
Denmark v Portugal - 2.66 away - -quite a big price for Portugal needs investigating.
Group H
Portugal and Denmark are level on points as they meet in Copenhagen on Tuesday. Denmark, ensured a top-two finish, must beat Portugal to win the group having lost away in Porto. Norway, three points adrift, face Cyprus with a hope of second place on goal difference ahead of Portugal should Denmark win, though they have a lot of ground to make up. If Sweden do not beat the Netherlands the best runners-up could well come from this section.

Sole defeat in the Euros was a 3-1 loss to Portugal which is why I thought Portugal's odds are very enticing. Nani twice and Ronaldo and Carvalho own goal for Denmark.

Tue12/10/10EUCIceland 1 - 3Portugal

Norway match not true showing. Last 2 matches more like it.

Norway are unlikely to get 2nd place on goal difference. Denmark and Portugal I suspect will be the 1st and 2nd.
A bit of a headscratcher this one as I see Portugal and their forward line as clearly superior to the Danes. But the odds suggest a tight tussle.

715pm - Norway v Cyprus - 1.24 home
Norway must win by 7+ goals in order to have a chance of 2nd place if either Denmark of Portugal lose. Highly unlikely but home advantage should help them give it a go. Psychologically though , are Norway

Tue12/10/10EUCDenmark 2 - 0Cyprus

Tue06/09/11EUCIceland 1 - 0Cyprus

Failed to score in last 2.

So, Norway need to win and score bucket loads but they are hardly prolific at home. Cyprus though have not win yet this campaign and have nothing to play for. They have not scored in last 2. Both team's positive results against Portugal can be scratched . Looks like a 0-0 cover perhaps and a back of a poor attack wise Norway?

715pm -
Sweden v Netherlands - 2.7 away - this is going to be interesting. Sweden are solid at home, Netherlands are unbeaten in 50+ matches it must be now. They are through, hence the 1-0 against Moldova latest. Just enough to win. Netherlands don't need anything from this match, but surely would want that unbeaten run to continue?
Group E
The Netherlands, already qualified as at least best runners-up before Friday, have now clinched first place with victory against Moldova. Sweden will finish second after defeating Finland and now prepare to welcome the Netherlands knowing a win would mean automatic qualification as best runners-up.

Sweden have the requisite carrot on the stick of automatic qualification with a win. The Netherlands are guaranteed first place.

Have not conceded away from home.

The motivation is with Sweden, but there is motivation of a different kind for the Dutch. They have an unbeaten run stretching back to September 2008 I believe ( without checking - some 50+ matches if memory serves).
Sweden are solid at home. Netherlands are officially one of the World's best sides.
A match I would love to watch. Netherlands team news important. A match, though, that I cannot nail as both sides seem well balanced in motivation terms, Netherlands may change personnel but try to continue unbeaten run, and Sweden at home are very good.
Looks a cracker but a toughie to get an angle into.

745pm - Italy v Northern Ireland - 1.22 home
Group C
Estonia moved into second place in their bid for a first major qualification as they came from behind on Friday to win 2-1 in Northern Ireland, now eliminated along with Slovenia. Serbia were held 1-1 by Italy, already secure in top spot, but Estonia have now completed their fixtures so Serbia can still snatch the play-off position by winning in Slovenia.

Northern Ireland it would seem have been eliminated.

Have scored in all away matches but only the 1 win was against Slovenia.

Italy have nothing to play for bar pride infront of home support. Check team news. NI have scored in all away matches, but this is a dead rubber match for both teams ( for different reasons), and Italy have not conceded at home. Should be a home win if Italy remain professional . As said earlier there were a few matches the big boys did not need to win last time ( Spain, Netherlands, Germany) but they all did win.

745pm - Spain v Scotland - 1.18 home - Barca v Celtic(ish) - another where Spain need nothing and Scotland need points desparately.
Group I
Spain were already assured of a place before their win in the Czech Republic left second position open. That place has been occupied for the time being by Scotland, following Saturday night's win in Liechtenstein. However, the Czech Republic, with a better head-to-head record, could still snatch a play-off berth by picking up more points in Lithuania on Tuesday than Craig Levein's charges do away to Spain.

Fri08/10/10EUCCzech Republic 1 - 0Scotland

Sat08/10/11EUCLiechtenstein 0 - 1Scotland

Extremely tight away from home and trying to nick it 1-0. Can Scotland maintain that defensive capability against the might of Spain?

THe final question above is the turnkey for this match. Must win for the Scots, meaningless ( bar players playing for pride of representing country at home) for Scots.
Logic tells us the Spanish line up is far far too strong.
A highly speculative 0-1 Scotland win correct score bet might have a chance if 0-0 is sustained for a period of time.

8pm - France v Bosnia - 1.56 home

France remain a point ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina following Friday victories, with the pair meeting in Paris to decide the group. Romania have now been eliminated so whoever misses out in the decider will be in the play-offs.

2 wins, a loss and a draw. 1.56 recounts a toughish night for France and no gimme. AS with the 1.58 price earlier, it suggests Bosnia could get something but France should eventually win.
This is not a dead rubber but by the same token not a must win.
Standout stat is no draw in 24 Euro matches for France . Lay the draw and hope France score first?

23.59 - Canada v Puerto Rico - 1.07 home - if the Mounties are this price, Puerto Rico must be terrible.
