14/9

Kolin v Slovan Liberec would be my strongest bet of the day today but with £137 at 1.14, £182 at 1.15, £351 at 1.16, £980 at 1.17, £115 at 1.18, not everyone will get the same price. These odds are competitive , given Bet 365's quote of 1.10.

Elsewhere Barca face Greek opposition and Man utd face Rangers, both home matches and both expected home wins.
The 140 Yarmouth is strong but good to soft ground ( hopefully more good than soft). I hope it is dominated by the front 3 in the market and that Mama Lulu won continues placed form.

So which bet is most likely to oblige?

*****ONE A DAY 745pm Man Utd v Rangers . Back Man Utd at 1.2 match odds ( tradeable)*****

There is a clear gulf between top 2 Premiership and Top 2 Scottish Leagues. I personally would prefer Slovan Liberec but acknowledge not everyone will get the apparently generous odds of 1.16+ for a 1/10 side

Janet's Pearl and Tariq too both won but a pity I lost some confidence. And again, laying Nadal with a view to trading was a great idea.
FOOTBALL
330pm - Slavicin v Banik Ostrava - 1.3 away - the Czech Cup recently was a reliable betting medium for short prices. This is Division 3 v Premier League team.
Home side in Division 3 - draw draw 5-1 loss 1-0 win. They show at home they can concede, surely a Premier League side must be able to do something.
Banik Ostrava are on a 6 game losing run. This is probably the reason behind the 1.3 quote with such a gap in the leagues.
+1.5 to +2 asian handicaps. I suppose we can say that this is an ideal match for Banik to end their losing run so , with this in mind, perhaps they will take this match more seriously. IN RUNNING.
4pm -
Kolin v Slovan Liberec - 1.18 away - Kolin went through last cup round 6-5 on penalties. In Division 3, they have only won 2 of their last 12 matches, losing 7.
In the Premier League since July 2010, Slovan have become a bit adept at drawing. 4 draws, 2 wins, 2 losses.
Kolin have actually lost 4 of their last 6 at home in the league.3 draws, 2 wins and a loss for Slovan away from home.
+2 to + 3 asian handicaps signals goals here and Slovan look likely to win despite their draw habit, albeit in the top flight and NOT division 3.
530pm -
Admira Wacker v St Polten - 1.34 home - last 2 head to heads and Admira have scored 4 on both occasions, but previous to those, it was DWW for St Polten ( and these were as recent as 2009)
Perhaps a goals bet here allows both sides to work for us.
IN RUNNING
The last time these 2 met at home , in March 2010, was 0-0 but can we assuage this with the fact Admira scored 4 twice away from home?
9 of Admira's last 10 games have been over 2.5 goals.
Recent form D(3-3) , L (2-1 ), WWWLWWWWDW - looks decent enough form. If they lose or draw, at least they score.
9 wins and a draw in last 10 home matches see Admira in a positive frame of mind ( won their last 4 home matches scoring 3,3,2,5)
Polten recent form ? LWLDLDWLWDLL - a mixed bag showing inconsistency for Polten.
Away form for Polten LLLDLDDD - simply put they find it difficult to win away from home.
Over 1.5 goals looks a safe enough proposition in an illiquid market.
745pm -
Barcelona v Panathinaikos - 1.15 home - I would ignore the 2-0 Hercules loss at the weekend. Let's face it, Barca are pretty much Spain FC, and Spain and Argentina had a mid week match in Buenos Aires of all places ( so include Messi in that equation) . They obviously looked jaded at the weekend.
Now, do you really think that Barcelona will lose 2 matches at home consecutively? This will not be tolerated. Simple! These 2 last met in 2005. 5-0 to Barca.
Panathanaikos , for me, have the profile of an ultra defensive unit. In the league so far, 1-0 win , 1-1 draw - low goalscoring.
Barca's last 2 league matches have seen 3 goals and 2 goals.
The less squeamish would opt, therefore for a neutral goals bet.+2 and +2.5 asian handicaps - very positive for Barca.1.16 over 1.5 goals or 1.15 for Barca.
745pm -
Man Utd v Rangers - 1.2 home - Rooney should return tonight, unless the ladies of the night distract him from swinging on his tyre pre match.
Let me take you back to a friendly in July 2010. Man Utd played Celtic and won 3-1. Yes I know this is a friendly, but it is a sign of the gulf between the top 2 in the Premiership and the Top 2 in Scotland.
10 of Man Utd's last 11 games have been over 2.5 goals.
Man Utd won 11 of their last 12 home matches , losing 2-1 only to Chelsea.
Rangers have won 6 and lost one of their last 7 ( including friendlies) - Rangers have won their 2 away games in the League ( the others are friendlies)
1.2 over 1.5 goals includes both sides. Home matches in the Champions League must be won.

140 YARMOUTH
BETTING FORECAST: 2/1
Mama Lulu, 9/4 Panoptic, 5/1 Mosaicist, 8/1 Miss Exhibitionist, 12/1 Petrichor, 16/1 Bint Alakaaber, Cat Island, 25/1 Escala, Icelady, 50/1 Harlequin Girl, 100/1 Champagne Princess, Huckle Duckle.

DIOMED VERDICT: PANOPTIC travelled strongly on her debut and it could be that this drop back in trip will bring about the requisite improvement.

Only 3 under 25/1 in this maiden race and no, it is not Mosaicist but Miss Exhibitionist who is the 3rd under 25/1. Mosaicist, a debutant , is 25/1 and not the 5/1 quoted by the betting forecaster.
4 debutants.
Mama Lulu has 3 2nds and the assistance of Dettori. Miss Exhibitionist is the big market mover as already mentioned.

200 HAYDOCK
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11
Florestans Match, 7/2 Scantily Clad, 5/1 Manoori, 8/1 Captain Kolo, 16/1 Even Stevens, 20/1 Barbieri, 25/1 Taverners Jubilee, 28/1 Ivy And Gold, Rowan Spirit, 33/1 Grey Steel, 40/1 Christine´s Gold, 66/1 Ime Not Bitter.

DIOMED VERDICT: FLORESTANS MATCH has been beaten favourite three times from four outings but it's hard to knock the consistency of her form and she's been unfortunate to come up against useful sorts the last twice.

1st and 3rd favourites are non runners . Surely, then, Scantily Clad is a logical place only candidate in yet another maiden.

410 YARMOUTH
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4
Dafeef, 3/1 Royal Rock, 4/1 Brave Prospector, 13/2 Iver Bridge Lad, 10/1 Desert Phantom, 12/1 Tomintoul Singer, 66/1 Sairaam.

DIOMED VERDICT: DAFEEF (nap) has his critics but three wins from eight starts is a good return and he's got the class to go in again here.

He's done it for me in the past, George Baker is on Royal Rock and that horse is backed , all red, and coming off a layoff. It seems the stable expect a good run.

SHORTLIST
4pm - Kolin v Slovan Liberec - 1.18 away - reliance on the Czech Cup again. Looking at the form of Kolin in Division 3, they are in poor form and Slovan are coming off a 4-1 win last time in the big league. This looks a match we can rely on ( if a first team for Slovan of course). In line with other Czech cup matches, perhaps an optimistic goals bet ( tradeable) may enhance odds ( along the lines of over 3.5 or over 4.5 goals)
745pm - Barcelona v Panathinaikos - 1.15 home - I am a little concerned with the arrival of Mascherrano at Barca. He is not a Barca midfielder. I hope he does not play tonight. Don't panic about the Hercules result. 14 hour flights to and from Buenos Aires and the majority of the Barca team participating in some pointless money grabbing midweek friendly.
They should be rested now and must win their home games. 1.16 over 1.5 goals for the less squeamish includes both sides.
745pm - Man Utd v Rangers - 1.2 home - 3-0 in 2003 and 3-1 against Celtic in July friendly should signal a comfortable United win this evening.

140 YARMOUTH - this is one of those races where the front 3 should finish 1-2-3. That is the hope at least. I would opt for Mama Lulu at 1.2 to place. 3 2nd places and is the most experienced of the 3 2 year olds under 25/1.

200 HAYDOCK - there are some apparent market movers, but then these could be a reaction to 2 strong market leaders being withdrawn. It is difficult, then, to gauge moves like Rowan Spirits ( 28/1 betting forecast into 8/1)
I would have expected, too, that Scantily Clad , as 2nd favourite missing 1st and 3rd favs, would be a lot shorter than 11/10.
Dropping to 5 furlongs here. Does the horse have the natural speed?
1.27 to place

SHORTLIST OF THE SHORTLIST
4pm - Kolin v Slovan Liberec - 1.18 away - illiquid market alas. I would happily back it if I was doing this for myself , but there is only £1500 or thereabouts going down to 1.15 . Bet365 show 1.10 for this match so this 1.18 currently is appealing.
745pm - Barcelona v Panathinaikos - 1.15 home - what chance Barca losing a 2nd consecutive home game when priced below 1.2? Possible of course but highly unlikely
745pm - Man Utd v Rangers - 1.2 home - Scottish Premier League is poor. Top 2 in Scotland should be no match for top 4 Premiership.
140 Yarmouth - Panoptic, Mama Lulu and Miss Exhibitionsit should dominate. The hope is they finish 1-2-3 and I would opt for Mama Lulu.
