3/9

Quiet day yesterday with decimated fields at Goodwood
410 HEREFORD
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Stellenbosch, 7/2 Winter Star, 6/1 Songmaster, 7/1 Alecia, 12/1 Corum, 14/1 Bob Casey, 25/1 Zorro De La Vega, 33/1 Cilrhiwviv, Oakbridge, Upton Scarlet, 66/1 Thyne Spirit, 100/1 Aymard Des Fieffes, Lake Barrine.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: With Winter Star carrying a triple penalty and Songmaster having no previous hurdle experience, this is best left to Charlie Mann's STELLENBOSCH (nap), who has a fine chance at the weights in this company and has been running consistently well this year.

Stellenbosch slight price gapper - WInter star may not be the threat the price proximity suggests with all the weight.

720 KEMPTON
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Hilbre Court, 7/2 Talk Of Saafend, 9/2 Smokey Rye, 10/1 Desert Clover, 14/1 Lady Amberlini, The Hoofer, 16/1 Quinzey´s Best, 20/1 Mouse White, 25/1 Too Grand, 33/1 Regal Veil, 100/1 Starfinch.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Hilbre Court landed the odds in a similar event on Polytrack last week and must go well again but Talk Of Saafend readily disposed of him on turf and she has equally good claims on the figures. SMOKEY RYE isn't far behind the pair of them, however, and it will be interesting to see if she can find some improvement for the step back up to this distance.

Potential 3 horse race but a class 6 claimer
220 LING
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Vine Street, 3/1 Houghton, 4/1 Fortune City, 5/1 Winter Miss, 12/1 Colourful Move, 25/1 Euroceleb, Water Violet, 33/1 Mary Athena, 50/1 Hard To Resist, 66/1 Sleepy Mountain, 100/1 Percyslavenderblue,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: VINE STREET (nap) is sure to have come on for her recent debut, when behind a now 78-rated winner, and is taken to progress past Fortune City and Houghton

Soft ground the big negative but Houghton is a non runner making life easier for the fav

For me it's Stellenbosch to place today given the weight of Winter Star
