HEAVY GOING AT AYR - YIKES!

BETTING FORECAST: 4/7 She´s Our Lass, 3/1 Resonate, 10/1 Hawkit, 20/1 Our Blessing, 25/1 Carry On Cleo, Chin Wag, 33/1 Distant Rock, Jim Martin, Rotuma, Ulysees, 100/1 Pugnacity.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Hard to get away from in-foal mare SHE'S OUR LASS, who looked better than ever on her first start for Kevin Ryan last week. She has conditions to suit and will be hard to beat dropped to this grade. Resonate looks the chief threat, while Hawkit may be the best each-way option. [RY] |
GAWD help us, I need a whiskey! A seller in heavy ground and over 1 mile 2 furlongs. That said, I am taken by the " hard to beat" comments and the contention that the horse will like heavy ground. This looks a 3 horse race bar any market moves in the live market which is a positive for place only backers as is the fact the horse has won twice on heavy ground. A further positive - a sharp drop in class.
On the negative side, Resonate is sniffing close by

BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Allied Powers, 5/1 Blue Spinnaker, Wigwam Willie, 7/1 Ella Woodcock, 8/1 Capable Guest, 10/1 Charlie Tipple, 12/1 Best Prospect, 33/1 Bigfanofthat.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Heavy ground will hold no fears for ALLIED POWERS (nap) who went very close dropped back to this trip at Doncaster last week and will have to race off 3lb higher from Saturday. Blue Spinnaker is feared mos |
Another eye popping price gapper here who Spotlight tells us is suited by heavy ground. That said this is a class 2 event and the fact only one horse is priced as a perceived outsider might signal an element of competitiveness in a race where there are no donkeys!

BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Harry Up, 7/2 Sands Crooner, 9/2 Mutamared, 13/2 Desperate Dan, 10/1 Monte Major, 12/1 Enodoc, 14/1 Joss Stick, 16/1 Danzili Bay, 25/1 Mambazo, 50/1 Head To Head, Mollyatti, 66/1 Cranworth Blaze.
Potential 4 horse race here? 3 none runners make life a little easier especially as 2 of the non runners are Monte Major and Enodoc
500 PONTEFRACT
BETTING FORECAST: 2/1 Duncan, 5/1 Pragmatism, 6/1 Mysterious Moon, Surrealism, 10/1 Cape Tribulation, Mubrook, 12/1 Ibbetson, Onemoreandstay, 14/1 Turjuman, 16/1 Garra Molly, 33/1 Won More Night, 66/1 Cashmere Jack, 100/1 High Shanamara, Miss Ferney, Oscar Wild, Rimsky Korsakov, Supremely Blessed.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Duncan and Pragmatism look the pick of the pair with form, while there are interesting newcomers in the shape of Mysterious Moon and Surrealism. That said, MUBROOK is bred in the purple and looks sure to leave his Bath debut behind him in time. These conditions should suit and he could be worth chancing now upped in trip |
Duncan has finished in the first 2 in his only 2 races - a big field maiden with 3 newcomers

BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Kritzia, 6/1 Capstan, 7/1 Silk Hall, 8/1 That Look, 9/1 Suite Francaise, 10/1 Caffari, 14/1 Flam, No Rules, 16/1 Pairumani Pat, 20/1 Lady Traill, 25/1 Synonymy, 50/1 Ashmolian, Funseeker.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The two best efforts of KRITZIA (nap) have come at Great Leighs but Henry Cecil's filly hasn't really had a chance to show what she is capable of on turf and will be hard to beat if reproducing her latest display. Capstan and That Look can fight out the minor honour |
Nice price gap here which is increased in the early market. Winner on the all weather last time out - will the horse reproduce on the turf?

BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Magaling, 5/1 Furious Belle, 11/2 Al Mugtareb, Bajan Tryst, 12/1 Print, Winning Band, 20/1 Musigny, 25/1 Gibson Square, Newlyn Art, 33/1 Everaard, Roar Of Applause, 66/1 Igotim, 100/1 Bold Hawk,
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: MAGALING, who did not appear to handle the track at Goodwood two starts ago but who clocked a good time over C&D last time, looks the one to bea |
A race to avoid I think - 14 runner 2 year old maiden - 6 debutants - 4 one time out horses open to improvement and a favourite who has only had the one run
For me today, She's our lass to place - dropped in grade and in form BUT with heavy ground you never know
And HArry up - my mind made up by the non runners making Harry up's chance of placing a little easier
