2/9

3 from 4 placed yesterday in a day where I didn't get involved.
Haven't a clue's race shows the importance of the live market. Scenic pass backedinto 13/8 would have been an ideal place selection in stead of Haven't a Clue , with Digit close at 11/4 and Haven't a clue out to 9/4. 2 wins and a 2nd from the others but ifs and buts about them all. BEtter safe than sorry

345 GOODWOOD
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Royal Vintage, 4/1 Appalachian Trail, Welsh Emperor, 8/1 Beaver Patrol, Sharp Nephew, 12/1 Hitchens, 25/1 Excusez Moi, 33/1 Express Wish,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: With Duff an absentee Welsh Emperor is likely to be able to dictate, but he found very little at Newbury last time and age may be catching up with him. In contrast the best days surely lie ahead for the exciting ROYAL VINTAGE (nap), who can go well fresh and has entries in the Queen Elizabeth II and the Champion Stakes this autumn

Good enough price gap - group 3 class 1 = no dodge pots here. 157 days off on ground which may become soft

BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Duncan, 7/2 Isabella Glyn, 9/2 Moville, 8/1 Lyceana, 10/1 Hammer, 14/1 Inquest, 20/1 Mister Ross, 25/1 Deer Lake, 100/1 Seconditis.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Interesting to see how the market speaks about Isabella Glyn on her belated return, but this should be third time lucky for DUNCAN.[AC]

Good to see a maiden with 2 2nds out of 2 runs - augurs well for the place? Market moves must be heeded though

225 SEDG
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Any Reason, 11/4 Nakoma, 3/1 Breaking Storm, 4/1 Thats Confidential, 6/1 Saltrash, 25/1 Mulaazem, 100/1 Jane Doe, Mckinneys, Mystical Feelings, Roll Em Over, Roman Bury, Saddlers Singer.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: ANY REASON is given another chance, as she seemed to get stuck in the mud at Stratford and her wins between the sticks came on top of the groun

Not a traditional price gapper but from a place only perspective very interesting with 5 horses before the perceived outsiders
Live market leader could be the place only horse for me

520 SEDG
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Queen Of Diamonds, 6/1 Loom, 10/1 Emotive, 11/1 Baarrij, Mt Desert, 12/1 Aliba, Duke Of Stradone, Kinfayre Boy, 14/1 Ad Murum, Lawgiver, Red O´Donnell, 16/1 Sprinkler, 20/1 Snow´s Ride, 66/1 Templet.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: QUEEN OF DIAMONDS (nap) was a revelation with plenty of give last week but she has fast-ground form and if she reproduces that Cartmel effort she'll be the one to beat. Loom could be interesting if there's market confidence, whil Duke Of Stradone hails from a stable whose raiders are always feared and Emotive may improve for this longer trip.[

Remember a couple of days ago the conditional jockey's price gappers disappeared without trace - and this is a handicap hrdle to boot

210 SOUTHWELL
BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Choral Festival, 3/1 Ysing Yi, 15/2 Ever Loved, 12/1 Age Of Magic, 20/1 Pure Crystal, 25/1 Largem, 33/1 Amazing Blue Sky, Curtain Up, Duar Mapel, Kidson, Star Of Sophia, 100/1 Noble Artist, Susurrayshaan, Upton Seas.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This looks like a good opportunity for CHORAL FESTIVAL to get off the mark after her good effort at Beverley last time. Ysing Yi looks the likeliest beneficiary if the selection fails to reproduce her latest turf effort.

Another maiden and only the 2 runs - installed as fav based on last run -close proximity of Ysing Yi a worry - eased up on only rn on all weather at 25/1 - market key again given return to all weather. Big field a potential negative for place backers
Duncan my choice today for the one placer - would be interesting to see if the others place at least or are affected by any market moves
