23/5

Spanish Cross 9/2 2nd for each way backers against a very well supported Crystal Swan - you see the conundrum with the Price gappers - Wotchlike - 2nd it came but there were the weight and "bounce factor niggles"

The Celtic/Rangers double didn't come in - another Chelsea like foot of the pedal from Rangers - a lack of belief I think. Overs in the Rangers game - well 77th minute for 2 goals BUT the cirimstances of 10 man Rangers meant nothing really could be salvaged. I did mention the draw/Celtic half time full time but stupidly ignored it!

Yesterday's racing was very much live market racing as the live market acted as a confirmer to a couple of smart sorts and with these maidens and other such races , trying to pinpoint a selection early morning is very restrictive.

Maidens, handicaps and sellers at Brighton today

BRIGHTON
230
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Caustic Wit, 3/1 Hart Of Gold, 4/1 Monashee Prince, 6/1 Star Strider, 8/1 Tamino, 16/1 Jayanjay, 25/1 Nordic Light, 33/1 Exponential, 50/1 Valeesha .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: CAUSTIC WIT would have finished closer with a clear run earlier in the week and looks primed to gain his 14th career win in an arguably weaker race. Despite his outside draw, Monashee Prince has the credentials to go well and may give the selection the most to d

Hart of Gold is ot so yo would assume CAustic Wit has a better chance with the nrearest rival a non runner. But why then is the price 4/1 early doors. This is indicative to me that Caustic Wit is not fancied?
Tamino for me each way

305
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Cosmic Destiny, 4/1 Best One, 6/1 China Cherub, Peter Island, 7/1 Desperate Dan, Multahab, 14/1 Our Fugitive, 20/1 Peopleton Brook, 25/1 One Way Ticket.

Spotlight - " a wide open handicap" I'll chance Peopleton BRook and One way ticket each way, both from the same stable

650 HAYDOCK
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Undaunted Affair, 7/2 Dubai´s Gazal, 6/1 Desert Sunset, 7/1 Haven´t A Clue, 8/1 Rosabee, 9/1 Honimiere, 12/1 Maid For Music, 33/1 Wigan Pier, 66/1 Avonlini .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The betting should give an idea of the threat represented by the newcomers, among whom Dubai's Gazal makes particular appeal, but UNDAUNTED AFFAIR sets a decent standard and has experience on her sid

Maid for music and Wigan Pier, show at 15/2 and 20/1 - BUT the race goes off at 650pm. Potential market moves? Wigan pier if showing at 20/1 at the off withh be the each way selection in case it's a market mover

220 NMKT
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Kissing The Camera, 11/4 Misdaqeya, 4/1 Redhead, 11/2 Daheeya, 10/1 Moonburst, 16/1 Halaak, 20/1 Refuse To Decline, 33/1 Mistress Mary, 40/1 Tamarah .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The betting should provide some useful pointers about the newcomers and Kissing The Camera and Redhead, in particular, are a pair to note, but MISDAQEYA comes from a race which has worked out well and should have derived considerable benefit from the experience

misdaqeya and Redhead to level stakes - Kissing is out to 4/1 at the moment and these 2 have been clipped in a tad. At time of writing, no market moves amongst the others BUT that's not to say they won't occur nearer the off, as this is a predominantly debutant field

900 PONTEFRACT
BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Palace Moon, 6/1 Important News, 10/1 Imperial Djay, 14/1 Another Decree, Carpe Diem, Deep Winter, This Ones For Eddy, 16/1 Royal Grace, 20/1 Into The Light, 25/1 Bahamian Kid, Tanley, 50/1 Merrion Tiger, 66/1 Hardanger, Jordi Roper .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A good opportunity for PALACE MOON, a half-brother to the yard's top-class sprinter Sakhee's Secret, to build on his Salisbury debut and get off the mark

A race typical of what I was mentioning before. The live betting market will tell you the confidence behind Palace Moon and will also show up any potential each way alternatives

STRATFORD

BETTING FORECAST: 1/2 Oumeyade, 8/1 Moment Of Magic, Theocritus, 10/1 Commemoration Day, 14/1 Dynamic Rhythm, 20/1 Ask Oscar, Kelv, 25/1 Tanners Court.

The horse Sam Thomas took the wrong course on - hence the pulled up last time in the form figures. guess what? Ruby Walsh is on board and if he takes the wrong course, I'll eat my newly acquired Irish tweed hat and post it on You tube

TIPPERARY
525 - a case of nearly there with the Weld , Smullen, O'Brien horses this week. They have been consistent but a couple of cases of short head 2nd's at nice prices have proved frustrating
This race sees Grand Ducal and Chariya.
555 - Observation Post and Award ceremony
655 - Jonny Murtagh, the O'Brien number 1 is on Seen and HEard in a wide open race
Pat Smullen is on aftershock - both each way prices in a race which I would usually dismiss, but let's hope for a surprise.
745 WEXFORD
Woodland Beauty represents Dermot weld and again is backable each way
