21/12

Blog didn't save the updates yesterday adn the choice was Sonning gate - 2 palces in a 3 horse race and 2/5 in the win market! The price, alas, reflected the ease of this opportunity

BETTING FORECAST: 7/2 Templers Hall, 5/1 Wheels Up, 13/2 Golden Gem, 8/1 Manorville, 10/1 Comedien, December Sun, Mantell, Twofan, 12/1 Hollow Ranger, Lissbonney Project, Oscar Dubh, Sportivo, The Penitent Man, 14/1 Emperor Titus, Moscow Breeze, Singh On Song, 16/1 Tarn Ridge, 20/1 Amorini,

Fav has Ruby on for Willie Mullins and has eben abcked into 7/4 - but a big field and heavy ground tempers enthusiasm somewhat 3.13 / 1.51

105 THURLES
BETTING FORECAST: 4/7 Solwhit, 3/1 Ninetieth Minute, 7/1 Sanglote, 12/1 Menwaal.

I do prefer 3 places and 8 runner fields but this WAS a a4 runner field and ,again, there may be a palce only market on Betfair -with Solwhit now 1/3 a risk COULD be taken on the outright win only market at better odds 1.36 / 1.06

125 CARLISLE
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Nelliedonethat, Toy Gun, 100/30 Man Of The Moment, 7/2 Blue Rising, 10/1 Stark Raven, 12/1 Hollows Mist, 25/1 Esquillon, 50/1 Beau Peak.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Man Of The Moment is the eyecatcher, given that he has been sent on a marathon journey from Sussex, and he could be the answer if his resolution doesn't fail him. NELLIEDONETHAT ran well at Sedgefield last month and he could prove the safest option.[JN]

Heavy ground and a 3 miler but this is now a 7 runner race still (hopefully )paying out 3 the place -2 clear outsiders at 33/1 or bigger make life a bit easier for the 4 market principles who are not double figure odds. Toy Gun and MAn of the moment are the ones for early money
1.36 / 1.53 Toy and Man to place
225 CARLISLE
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Rosie All Over, 9/2 More Likely, 11/2 Chickapeakray, 6/1 Minster Abbi, 7/1 Scarvagh Diamond, 16/1 Star Of Raven.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: ROSIE ALL OVER continues to climb the handicap but she still makes plenty of appeal, given the doubts surrounding all her rivals.[

Included because of the price gap BUT only 2 places and a horse who only won by a short head last time. HEavy ground today and not really solid for me up in the weights 2.28 / 1.45

ONE A DAY

Poor choices today and heavy ground at all jumps venues - Irish racing is not to be trusted from my perspective and the only race of interest is the 125 Carlisle from a probability perspective - 7 runner field still pays out 3 the place - 2 clear outsiders should bring the likely performers down to 5 so only 2 to beat to place if heavy ground is not a leveller. I will chance Man of the moment to place at 1.53 which will mean stake is minimal for a bit more of a risky bet - of course Solwhit looks nailed on for the place at 1.06 and a risk may be taken at 1.31 for the win, BUT again we have heavy ground - place market - 1 to beat to place
