11/12

Ping Pong Sivola placed yesterday which was all that mattered. Interestingly all of the shortlisters placed and perhaps there is a way to profit from these (albeit more risky) through accumulator betting? Just a thought - I'll do the same today and see if I can string together 3-4 to place ,their accmulative odds should be around evens

1210 HUNT
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Tot Of The Knar, 5/1 Call Me A Legend, 15/2 Circus Rose, 10/1 Bahia Blanca, Midsummer Magic, 14/1 I´m Delilah, 20/1 Wistow, 25/1 Tiger Moss, 33/1 Cobbler´s Queen, 50/1 Allfortara, Luzenie, Sparkling Brook, Sweet Robinia, 66/1 Quaystone Lady, Silver Missile.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Circus Rose and Call Me A Legend are likely improvers but TOT OF THE KNAR sets a very good standard and, having apparently taken little out of her self when an easy winner on Tuesday, must be hard to beat.[FC]

Hgely impressive last time out ,again installed as market leader with a good price gap - concern (at time of writing ) over soft grond and field size and a look at the live market imperative in the late morning - Call me a legend has come in for some real money here in opposition to the Tot
TOT 2.14 /1.24
CALL 3.9 / 1.49

1240 HUNT
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Shatabdi, 4/1 Aimigayle, 7/1 Overbranch, 10/1 Cornerback, Kerriemuir Lass, Rate Of Knots, 14/1 Sunny Brook, 20/1 Thehonourablelady.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A good opportunity for useful hurdler SHATABDI (nap) to build upon the solid platform of her chase debut second at Leicester for a yard that continues to fire

Sam Waley-Cohen is a jockey to trust I feel and if the live market confirms support then this could be a shortlister - now odds on as I write which is a good indicator 1.89 / 1.22

100 LUDLOW
BETTING FORECAST: 4/7 Deep Purple, 7/2 Peredur, 10/1 Roman Villa, 12/1 Mount Sandel, 16/1 Dominican Monk.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: DEEP PURPLE did it well at Taunton and a repeat of that effort should be good enough to enable him to give the weight away.

Only 2 the place so caution advised - still odds on BUT outsiders not priced as nailed on outsiders - ABANDONED

120 TAUNTON
BETTING FORECAST: 4/9 Big Fella Thanks, 15/8 Itsa Legend, 33/1 Killing Me Softly, 100/1 Jethro Wheeler.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Itsa Legend wasn't far behind BIG FELLA THANKS at his best over hurdles but that was some time ago now and Paul Nicholls' gelding is a more solid proposition

Sam Thomas onboard the Nicholls hot pot in a simple 2 horse race (provided of course both horses stay upright) Hardened in the early market 1.39 / 1.13

150 TAUNTON
BETTING FORECAST: 4/5 Thundering Star, 7/1 Clova Island, 10/1 Pourdel, Tender Falcon, 12/1 Humble Opinion, 14/1 Hohlethelonely, 20/1 Deep Squeeze, Knightsbridgelives, 25/1 Midnight Haze, Triple Bluff, 50/1 Cassia Rose, Dan Tucker, Feels Right, Return To Sender.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: THUNDERING STAR (nap) has to concede plenty of weight to most of his rivals but he has the potential to be much better than this grade. Clova Island looks the main threat

Another hot pot for Sam - a significant price gap relative to the muber of runners - still odds on but a big field 1.8 / 1.18

200 LUD
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Go For One, 7/2 Cresswell Willow, Down´s Folly, 10/1 Spare Me, Super Judge, 50/1 Dasher Reilly.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: GO FOR ONE still looks feasibly handicapped and is preferred to the other recent course scorer, Cresswell Willo

3 sub 10/1 and another look in the market to chose which (if any) of the 3 are most likely to place - ABANDONED

220 TAUNTON
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Herecomesthetruth, 13/8 Kia Kaha, 6/1 Pressgang, 14/1 Ameeq, Hill Forts Timmy.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: All five of these showed fairly useful form over hurdles but have revealed different levels of promise over fences. The freegoing Herecomesthetruth should have the pace for this sharper test but showed he is not without his kinks at Cheltenham last time so preference is for KIA KAHA who got the job done in good style at Ludlow last time.[AC]

A novices chase and perhaps not the ideal race for place only betting - At time of writing Kia Kaha is the one for money with Herecomes on the drift (BUT I reiterate this is AT THE TIME OF WRITING)
HERECOMES 2.42 /1.39
KIA KAHA 2.44 /1.39

250 TAUNTON
BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 R De Rien Sivola, 9/2 Mexican Pete, 8/1 Theatre Diva, 10/1 Red Admiral, 14/1 Archie Gunn, Laustra Bad, Paradi, 33/1 Gold Gun.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Plenty with questions to answer and an obvious opportunity for the promising juvenile R DE RIEN SIVOLA to make a successful start to her handicapping career

Any significance in Sam Thomas riding for Venetia Williams rather than Paul Nicolls here?

8 runners means 3 the place which is ideal - Red Admiral a non runner -7 runners now - need to check on Betfair it still pays out 3 the place 1.8 / 1.21 STILL 3 THE PLACE

720 GREAT LEIGHS
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Kingsgate Storm, 9/4 Major Phil, 9/2 Best In Class, 5/1 Today´s The Day, 14/1 Kilkenny Bay, 33/1 Kina Jazz, Kings On The Roof, Risky Lady.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Kingsgate Storm has the best form but lacks a recent run and that may swing the advantage in favour of MAJOR PHIL who shaped well on his debut here last month. Best In Class is the most interesting of the newcomers.[GN]

A maiden and the betting forecast have this concerning 4 horses so look at live market nearer the off imperative - caution - low class maiden - fav out to 3/1 (but this is 7+ hours before race is off) -big early mover is Today's The Day

920 GREAT LEIGHS
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Vine Street, 5/1 Dinner Date, 8/1 Josr´s Magic, Kings Topic, 9/1 Resplendent Ace, 10/1 Ministerofinterior, 12/1 All In The Red, Teasing, 14/1 Danse The Blues, 16/1 Special Pearl.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: VINE STREET (nap), a sister to the stable's high-class filly Silkwood, will have done her broodmare value no harm when getting off the mark here last weekend and connections will be keen to capitalise on that. She may be able to dominate again and gets the verdict over Resplendent Ace

Ultra consistent placed form and priced to win again - 16/1 the outsider tells us this is competitive, but ,some 9 hourse before race time, Vine Street is holding up strong 2.56 / 1.29

SHORTLIST
1240 HUNT - Shatabdi - I am taken by the market move to odds on in the relatively small field
120 TAUNTON - Big Fella Thanks - looks a 2 horse race - needs Sam "feck it I'm on the ground again" Thomas to stay on board for us to score in the place market
220 TAUNTON - Kia Kaha - simple choice between Herecomesthetrth and Kia Kaha - going for the latter due to the perceived market move which shows confidence
250 TANTON - R Rien de Sivola - 8 runner race down to 7 runners - still pays 3 the place

ONE A DAY - will be first named horse BUT from my perspective, R Rien De Sivola would be very solid given 1 less rival and still 3 the place - only has 4 to beat to place, one of which is a confirmed outsider
