14/12

Either way yesterday, Thundering Star placed and Barca left it laid but scored 2 goals

BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Thoughtsofstardom, 5/1 Spic ´n Span, 7/1 Magic Glade, Night Premiere, 8/1 Kalligal, Triskaidekaphobia, 10/1 Gleaming Spirit, 20/1 Gifted Gamble, 33/1 Stoneacre Sarah,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: THOUGHTSOFSTARDOM (nap) can continue a good recent run in another sprint here dominated numerically by the Peter Grayson stable. Kalligal has been given a chance by the handicapper and could go well at a bigger price.

Now 7 runners but still 3 the place and a reasonable 1.19 given the circumstances - negatives - class 6 5 furlong handicap

1220 NAVAN
BETTING FORECAST: 1/5 Donnas Palm, 10/1 Sharp River, Stretch The Truth, 14/1 Closesthingtocrazy, 25/1 Sotally Tober, Telramund, 33/1 Garamor Boy, Hidden Crack, Raise A Row, 50/1 Not To Know, Salsadar, 66/1 Ballinoe Bob, Lip Gloss, Red Kingdom, 100/1 Lead Kindly Light, Our Western Boy.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: If the aim was to find an easy race for DONNAS PALM, Noel Meade couldn't have drawn up a better one and it's unlikely he'll have to get out of second gear to beat these. Impressive in his maiden hurdle victory at Naas in late October, he put that behind him when giving Hurricane Fly all he could handle when going down by a narrow margin in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse two weeks ago. He shouldn't have to break sweat here and could probably afford to run a stone of more below his best and he would still win.\n

Heavy ground but hardened into 1/7 - 1.2 to win and 1.09 to place - heavy ground the concern

BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Divex, 9/2 Balakar, 6/1 Stormy Beech, 8/1 Snowy, 10/1 Hapthor, 14/1 Yankee Holiday, 25/1 Mr Twins, 50/1 King´s Envoy, Ocean Dancer.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Most of these have plenty to prove and the door looks ajar for DIVEX (nap), who didn't appear to quite last home over a longer trip here last week. Snowy, if refreshed after a break, may offer most resistance.[

Snowy now 3/1 - negatives - amateur riders -
Divex 1.29 to place
Snowy 1.77 - is this market move accurate?

1250 NAVAN
BETTING FORECAST: 2/7 Pandorama, 3/1 Mikael D´Haguenet, 20/1 Aura About You.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Even given the worry about the race turning into a tactical affair, PANDORAMA is a horse of almost limitless potential and is almost impossible to oppose, although Mikael D'Haguenet is probably the best horse he's taken on to date and is likely to pose him a question or two.

A very bright prospect regardless of price
1.26 / 1.07 - field of 3 only so superb probability race

100 CORK
BETTING FORECAST: 8/13 Pomme Tiepy, 3/1 Western Charmer, 7/1 The Bishop Looney, 10/1 Tigerlion, 12/1 Part Presenting, 14/1 Keats Dream, 33/1 Hot Or What.

I do like Pomme Tiepy - I do like Ruby onboard a Mullins horse BUT I don't like 3 miles in heavy ground and only 2 places - 1.26 to place

225 MUSS
BETTING FORECAST: 2/5 Doeslessthanme, 6/1 Morning Sunshine, 13/2 Balyan, 12/1 Ella Woodcock, 25/1 Sandhills, 33/1 Art Bank, Sir Douglas, 50/1 Braddock Island.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: DOESLESSTHANME had useful bumper form before making a successful hurdling debut at Kelso and was far from disgraced when losing his unbeaten record at Haydock. He has more potential than his rivals and looks set to defy a penalty back at this ordinary level.

8 the field means 3 the place and at least 3 outsiders means the fav should only have 2 to beat to place - 1.11

Lots of ultra shorties in heavy ground today, Thoughts of Stardom at 1.19 looks the best priced ,if I avoid the very obvious selections who should afford us a better and more confident bet (including Pandorama who only has 1 to beat to place , Doeslessthanme who faces the straight 8, a number of whom are priced as outsiders, and Donnas Palm whose Spotlight Verdict is compelling!)
