14/1

The advantage of me following the live market allowed me to reverse out from my dutch (at a loss - the dutch failing) and get on Ultimate - 8/13 in the betting forecast and 2/5 in the live market - now that's confidence! ultimate won and 1.12 for the place was ideal for me and target profit per day.
THe dutch was a disappointment and I know why - Joe Jo Star was a price gapper in a 0-60 last time - he was not a price gapper this time so should not have been a race for me to have concentrated on - anyway lesson learned and the need to be flexible is key. When a horse at 8/13 in the betting forecast is 2/5 in the live market, this is a clear indication of confidence

BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Gone Hunting, 11/4 Art Fund, 9/2 Cognac Boy, 6/1 Swiss Art, 12/1 River Rye, 14/1 Flawless Diamond, 25/1 Whotsit, 50/1 Buddy Marvellous, Ruby Best.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Quite a few disappointing sorts in this field, but there should be more to come from ART FUND and, over a trip that should suit, he can make the most of the weight he gets from Gone Hunting.

4 before 12/1 but this is a poor claimer
1.24 Gone Hunting who is being backed on BEtfair and Art fund 1.62

BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Rebel City, 3/1 Royal Collection, 7/2 Dollar Express, 7/1 Soho Secrets, 8/1 Divine Force, 12/1 Cousin Charlie, 14/1 Why Nee Amy, 20/1 Fleuron, 100/1 General Sam, Kiss A Prince.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The market should be revealing about the chances of Dollar Express, Divine Force and Soho Secrets, but REBEL CITY and Royal Collection have shown more than enough to suggest they can win a run-of-the-mill maiden here and can fight out the finish if the market is not positive about the newcomers.

The poor class of races continue at Lingfield. This is a maiden and Dollar Express is at 14/1!! The front 2 are around 11/10 both and the only horses under 14/1. Now Dollar Express could be one of those horses who tend to run well in maidens despite the betting forecast and the live market being way out.
Conspiracy theories aside, this maiden would seem to affect the front 2 -1.17 REbel City to place

1250 NEWBURY
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Mount Helicon, 2/1 Optimus Maximus, 4/1 Bruslini, 8/1 Art Exhibition, 14/1 E Major, 33/1 Cesium, Rio Laine, 50/1 Sleeping, 100/1 Falsino, Flash Of Fire.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: MOUNT HELICON was a tad disappointing when turned over here in November but expect that experience to have brought him on and today's easier surface is probably a good thing, too. The team behind Bruslini won this with Detroit City three years ago and any market confidence behind the French import would need to be taken seriously, a comment that also applies to Optimus Maximus, representing another powerful yard.

4 before 25/1 and Bruslini is the market mover here. Confidence for me in Thornton/King on Mount Helicon who is fav at the moment 1.25 to place

110 LING
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Wind Flow, 2/1 Acropolis, 9/2 Alrafid, Mayadeen, 25/1 Always Certain, 33/1 Wildbach, 50/1 Smetana,
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Impossible to trust Acropolis these days and preference is for WIND FORCE whose will to win was highlighted on numerous occasions last year. Mayadeen looks most interesting of the remainder.[

8 runner field down to 6 - 3 the place at Betfair? If so then backing the fav to place ? Job made easier with 2 non runners - now 2 to place so no bet for me

130 NEWC
BETTING FORECAST: 2/5 On Raglan Road, 5/1 Grizebeck, 6/1 Sphinx, 10/1 Border Reiver, 33/1 Echoes Of Dawn, 40/1 Good Line, 50/1 Ballysimon, Carrick Star, Mister Marker, Spare Days, 66/1 Star Of Raven, 100/1 Ethel Briggs, Flag Hill, Soneva Gili, 200/1 Lord Denis, Oyashshecan.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: ON RAGLAN ROAD has not quite come up to expectations since making a winning hurdling debut at Hexham but sets a high standard on form and is likely to relish the return to 3m. Grizebeck has plenty to find on latest Sandown running but still appeals as the best each-way alternative

Price gapper here and 1/3 -3 miles on soft ground a concern for one so short - 1.08 to place

155 NEWB
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Mad Max, 3/1 Cockney Trucker, 4/1 Shoreacres, 7/1 Teddy´s Reflection, 14/1 Penharold, 16/1 Pause And Clause, 20/1 Traffic Control, 25/1 Galaxy Rock, 33/1 See Me Soon, 40/1 Our Hero, The Arsonist, 50/1 Quick Shot, 66/1 Peterfly, 100/1 Imminent Victory, 200/1 Lyrical Chant, 250/1 Iveragh Lad.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Shoreacres, Cockney Trucker and Teddy's Reflection are sure to win more races but MAD MAX could go right to the top and is preferred.[

16 runner novices hurdle and McCoy on an odds on shot here - only 4 sub 14/1 1.17 for Mad MAx to place

335 NEWB
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Jaunty Flight, 4/1 Arctic Magic, 5/1 Fit To Drive, 6/1 Phardessa, 13/2 Pyleigh Lady, 20/1 Butterfly Rose, 25/1 Kerriemuir Lass, 66/1 Kentford Mist, 100/1 Definitely It.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: JAUNTY FLIGHT is the class act in this line-up and, if she jumps, should lead them home, possibly followed most closely by Arctic Magic and Pyleigh Lady.[

5 sub 20/1 -Arctic MAgic is the market mover here 1.4 and 1.43 for the front 2

ONE A DAY
Gone Hunting for me, in a poor claimer looks decent enough. Mount HElicon I will consider under Thornton /King in a race which would seem to revolve around Bruslini and Optimus Maximus
