4 AUG

645 CARLISLE
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Destinys Dream, 9/2 Howards Hope, 6/1 Grit, 7/1 Carry On Cleo, 8/1 One Night In May, 14/1 Piverina, 16/1 Admiralcollingwood, 20/1 Caught In Paradise, 25/1 Shaylee .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: By far the most appealing contender is DESTINYS DREAM, who has every chance on these terms (nearest rival Carry On Cleo has lost the form she'd shown on heavy ground early last month) and should have no problem with this trip.

QUite an early price gap for Destiny's Dream albeit in a claimer but why is Howards Hope 12/1 (9/2 betting forecast) - I will back the latter each way incase the betting forecaster has it right as 2nd fav)

715
BETTING FORECAST: Evs Zelos Girl, 9/2 Lucky Numbers, 11/2 Liberty Lodge, 6/1 Kellies Rocket, 10/1 Lemon Dash, 12/1 Fitzolini .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: ZELOS GIRL is difficult to oppose after shaping so well at Windsor and with the stiffer 5f likely to suit. The betting should provide useful clues about the expectations of Alan Swinbank's newcomers Liberty Lodge and Kellies Rocke

The fav has all the ticks in the right boxes as a price gapper and possible HTB candidate but at odds on against 3 newcomers after only a single run, is opposable for me with liability not an issue

IRISH COMBOS ARE AT NAAS after a superb summer from AIden O'Brien in particular

230 NEWTON ABBOTT
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Quinte Du Chatelet, 13/8 Archduke Ferdinand, 5/2 Option Money, 25/1 Brave Jewel, Minella Pleasure, 50/1 Cherryficial, 100/1 Beauchamp Viking, January Man, Passato, Tapimix, Three Half Crowns .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Archduke Ferdinand sets the standard but Quinte Du Chatelet and OPTION MONEY both look open to further improvement and the latter, on his first run for Tim Vaughan's up-and-coming yard, gets the nod

A simple case of lay the fav given the congestion at the head of the market - plenty of opposition

630 WINDSOR
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Acquiesced, 5/2 Poyle Meg, 16/1 Ageebah, Giverny, Lady Lu, Laraffelle, Sister Clement, 20/1 Dubai Legend, 25/1 Autumn Morning, Costa Lotta, Port De La Ponche, 33/1 Lady Rusty, Queens Forester, Santoriney, 50/1 Heartsease, 100/1 Lily Waters .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: ACQUIESCED and Poyle Meg stand out on racecourse achievement, and with Poyle Meg's debut form taking several knocks last week, the Hannon filly looks to have a solid chance of getting off the mark here

A couple of 2nds screams out a place only bet albeit at restrictive odds for the fav here

A poor days racing to start my return to the blog.
