7/12

*****ONE A DAY - 745pm - L Orient v Droylsden - back Leyton Orient in the match odds market at 1.41*****
I hope the 3 league gulf will be enough for Leyton Orient in this FA Cuo replay. A slight concern regarding the weather.
There are enough question marks about the Champions League

Research stopped me going for the goals bets yesterday and simply opting for the match odds bet on Porto and it proved the best decision as Setabul continued into 4 games out of the last 5 with a 1-0 scoreline. A stroke of luck with a missed penalty from Setabul in the 90th+ minute too! The Setabul whose 8/11 games saw 1-0 or 0-0 results turned up yesterday. They were only breeched by a penalty by a usually free scoring Porto at home.
Ingleby king dug deep to win in the only other race of interest and showed that class 6 0-60 handicap price gappers, backed up with being solidly backed and all red, can pay off. ( less worrisome for the place only of course as he had to really get stuck in to see the winning line first.)

Champions League tonight and an interesting set of matches, but any possible bets?

1230pm - Malaysia v Laos - 1.37 home - AFC Asian Cup match and Malaysia have the upper hand in head to heads , albeit in 2007 and 2008.LLLWLWLLD for Malaysia is hardly compelling to back.In the Asian Cup so far, they have been beaten 5-1 by Indonesia and drew 0-0 with Thailand.
Laos drew 2-2 with Thailand and lost 6-0 to Indonesia.
From these 2 scorelines against the same sides, there is little appeal in a Malaysia bet, suffice to say that historically they have the edge.
I would say a goals bet might be in order as both sides like conceding, Laos especially. A reasonable 1.17 for the over 1.5 goals bet.
IN RUNNING

745pm -
Barcelona v Rubin Kazan - 1.39 home - we are likely to see a much changed Barca side this evening as a number of the stars are rested including Alves, Xavi, Villa, Pedro, but Messi remains and he is a goal scoring machine at present.
Rubin famously won at the Nou Camp last season. Surely there will be no repeat tonight.
There is always a concern with matches where the team does not need to win that the killer instinct is subconsciously missing.
Quite astonishingly, Rubin have drawn 9 of their last 12 matches, winning the other 3.
Barca have won 7 on the trot and are 11 wins and a draw in their last 12 matches.
3,5,3,8,3,5,3 goals scored in their last
7 matches is superb. This team seems only slightly weakened, but there is a niggle that they do not need anything out of this match, while Rubin Kazan do.

745pm -
L Orient v Droylsden - 1.4 home -league 1 v conference in what I am assuming is the FA Cup?. Home side have only lost 2 in 11 matches, but have drawn their last 3 matches including against this opposition away.
Market expects home advantage to be compelling against the Conference side who have lost 3 of their last 4 conference matches.

745pm -
Lyon v Hapoel Tel Aviv - 1.35 home - Lyon comfortably beat Tel Aviv away from home 3-1 and are really priced to put that last nail in their coffin this evening.#
Lyon would need the win to cement top place so have an element of motivation tonight. Hapoel are all but out it would seem and have conceded 2 in the away Champions League matches.
I could also consider over 2.5 goals ( and therefore the safer over 1.5 goals?) as this match looks to feature 2 teams full of goals domestically.

745pm -
Twente v Tottenham - I hope you recall my argument that the Dutch top flight elite seem to get found out when playing the big boys and not some poor dutch sides in a Dutch league with no strength in depth. Twente have not beaten english opposition in 10 previous attempts. Twente have nothing to play for.Tottenham need to match Inter's result tonight to gain top spot.
Goals perhaps? A nice neutral bet given it will not be catastrophic if Spurs do not win, and Twente have nothing to play for bar preservation of an impressive home record.

Almost inevitably we are left with the all weather today and a lesson from yesterday would be to look for a horse proven on the slower version of today''s all weather surfaces.

120 LINGFIELD
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8
Hawaafez, 2/1 Al Khatma, 4/1 Movingly, 11/2 Baisse, 16/1 Secoya, 25/1 Twin Soul, 40/1 Dune Island, Jody Bear, 50/1 Igitur.

DIOMED VERDICT: HAWAAFEZ shouldn't be long in opening her account judged on her C&D maiden third and is preferred to Al Khatma and the interesting newconers Baisse and Movingly.

Course and distance 3rd on debut - this is a maiden fillies stakes race and maidens and fillies do not really fill me with confidence especially with the weather conditions. The Racing Post reports standard ground remains at Lingfield.

4 one time outers and 3 debutants so a degree of faith in the market which quotes Hawaafez at 4/5

Only 4 under 20/1 - will they dominate this maiden? It is always risky deciding early on in maidens as they are generally at the behest of the market.

SHORTLIST
1230pm - Malaysia v Laos - 1.37 home - 1.17 over 1.5 goals could be a good bet here with 2 teams likely to leak goals.
745pm - Barcelona v Rubin Kazan - 1.39 home - 1.28 over 1.5 goals? Rubin need a win and could be open to vulnerability.
Barca are likely to dominate possession. A risky bet given Barca do not need to win.

745pm - L Orient v Droylsden - 1.4 home - I quite fancy Leyton Orient to win with home advantage in this FA Cup replay against a much lower class league side who have lost 3 of their last 4 conference matches.

745pm - Lyon v Hapoel Tel Aviv - 1.35 home - Lyon won 3-1 in Israel and could well repeat the dose this evening in a match they would like to win to ensure they remain top. They have admittedly been poor in last 2 head to heads. 1.23 over 1.5 goals is of some appeal

I am still concerned with getting involved in the horse racing while the weather is still as it is.

SHORTLIST OF THE SHORTLIST
1230pm -
Malaysia v Laos - 1.37 home - 1.17 over 1.5 goals -dare we trust 2 such poor sides? Concern is that there may be a stalemate?
745pm - L Orient v Droylsden - 1.4 home -the FA Cup and the gulf in leagues, along with home advantage, should help Leyton Orient win. A 3 division gulf here could be the decider!
745pm - Lyon v Hapoel Tel Aviv - 1.35 home - Lyon have won 3-1 at Tel Aviv already and would ideally need the win tonight - 1.23 over 1.5 goals ?
