21/12

I have to make an exception today regarding backing in Cup matches featuring teams from the same league playing each other.

The team in question is Barcelona and this looks like a straightforward opportunity for a scintillating team.

***** ONE A DAY - 7pm - Barcelona v Ath Bilbao - back Barcelona in the match odds at 1.16*****

Given the amazing goalscoring exploits of late, if the Messi - ah plays this evening, consider over 3.5 or even over 4.5 goals with trading in mind ( for the ultra speculative)

Napoli was the last bet and was successful. I am still suffering disruptions so will try to do my best as regards analysis.

4pm - Trabzonspor v Gaziantep BB - 1.23 home - Turkish Cup and Trab were a recent comfortable winning bet for us. Motivation for the Cup? I don't know. A first team should oblige at home. In running and a 2 goal asian handicap hints at a comfortable day.Division 1 v Division 2 and Head to Head in 2009 was only 1-0 - 3 1-0's. 2 0-0's , a 1-1, and 2 anomolous 3 and 4 goal games could hint at the Division 2 visitors being tight
615pm -
Fenerbahce v Bucaspor - 1.28 home - Turkish Cup and Fener should oblige but I do not betting in Cup games between teams in the same league
7pm -
Barcelona v Ath Bilbao - 1.16 home - completely mullered a team they had recently been historically tight with, this looks a default one a day. Spanish Cup so a degree of caution but Barca have won 10 on the trot, they are at home ( expect a strong side? ) and have scored 3,5,3,8,3,5,3,2,5,5 in those 10 matches.
A strong Barca should record the 11th straight win.
Comfortable victories in last 2 head to heads augur well for a comfortable evening as long as we see the big guns blazing ( still the 2nd team is outstanding so should be no concern)

745pm -
Celtic v Kilmarnock - 1.25 home - Scottish Premiership match this one 3-1 and 3-0 for Celtic in last 2 home head to heads augurs well -3 points behind Rangers but same number of games played, so this is a must win for Celtic.
Last 2 Celtic matches have been score draws - they are priced to win today and break that sequence. No match since 27th November so a weather warning regarding betting this evening - the weather could be a leveller for an out of shape Bhoys team?
745pm -
Twente v Vitesse - 1.34 home - unappealing Cup match again featuring 2 teams in the same league. Yes I make an exception with Barcelona and if Twente were as lethal at present ( and they are a little ropey) I would make an exception for them too.

250 KEMPTON

BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Eradicate, 9/4 Alsadaa, 9/2 Perception, 6/1 Advisor, 25/1 Days Of Pleasure, 25/1 Kasban, 25/1 Salybia Bay, 25/1 Spiritual Guidance, 25/1 Sun Quest, 66/1 Good Buy Dubai, 66/1 Sablazo.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Perception is going the right way but she has work to do to close the gap on ALSADAA and Eradicate in terms of both Flat and hurdles ratings. Eradicate is the class performer but stamina limitations could be exposed by Alsadaa's forcing tactics.[Frank Carter]

4 only under 25/1 so default to the favourite to place in a good probability race? This is a bumper so market view ideal

350 KEMPTON

BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Noland, 9/4 Pepe Simo, 11/2 Awesome George, 12/1 Fountains Flypast, 14/1 Caught By Witness, 25/1 Fringe Theatre, 25/1 Natural Spring, 40/1 Dark Dancer, 100/1 Luna Lightning, 100/1 Toomuchinformation.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Paul Nicholls appears to hold the key with NOLAND and Pepe Simo. The latter has shown his wellbeing over fences recently but his stablemate is a class performer on his day and, although returning from two years off, has a good record fresh.[Frank Carter]

Bumper day today at Kempton and it would seem this is Paul Nicholl's for the taking.

Pepe Simo is slightly edging it as far as favouratism is concerned.

205 SOUTHWELL

BETTING FORECAST: 8/11 Nazreef, 5/1 Xilerator, 8/1 Elusive Fame, 10/1 Follow The Flag, 12/1 Avonrose, 12/1 Ours, 14/1 Snow Bay, 50/1 Revelator.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: If NAZREEF turns up in the same form as last week then a 6lb penalty wont stop him hacking up again. Follow The Flag will appreciate the return to 1m and can chase him home again. [Steffan Edwards]

price gapper and maybe last time out was the time to get Nazreef? One of only 2 under 10/1 here and 1/2 - strongly fancied again

4 horses only under 25/1
