18/12

This will be a very abridged service today as I am travelling to see my family for Mince Pies etc.

Trabonspor won 3-0. I was worried about the draw, and it remained 0-0 for some 83 minutes, until the breakthrough goal and then 2 more in 90 minutes.

3pm -
Arsenal v Stoke - 1.33 home - 2nd by 2 points and United have played a game less so when priced as they are today, Arsenal really must be winning. I have a feeling Cesc Fabregas is out and I cannot stress the difference he can make in potentially tight matches.
Home losses against Spurs, Newcastle and West Brom most unexpected for the Arse at home - 2 losses 2-3 a coincidence? No draws at home. 1.33 looks a bit short with the dodgy home form .
LWWLLW at home betrays Arsenal at home recently.
One possible angle? 75% of home matches have finished over 2.5 goals.
Stoke are 12th and Arsenal have beaten all sides below them home and away in the league, yet above them have drawn 2 and had 5 losses.
So which way will Stoke swing?
Arsenal have won last 3 league head to heads, 2 home and 1 away
5 out of 6 unbeaten for Stoke -they lost last enounter 1-0 v Blackpool , and WWWDD before that.
5 losses and a draw against top 7 sides for Stoke signals a step too far?
2-0, 2-1, 2-0 losses away.

4pm -
APOEL v Enosis - 1.24 home
5pm -
Benfica v Rio Ave - 1.22 home - home side have won the last 4 head to heads, most recently 2-1 in last 2 matches. - 4 losses and 8 wins for Benfica - 3 of those losses came in the Champions League so they really are solid in the league. LWWWWWW at home is superb for Benfica and makes backing them at 1.22 tempting enough.
8 wins and 1 loss in the last 9 matches for benfica - loss came v Porto who are in sparkling form.
3,2,1,2,4,2 the goals scored by Benfica in their home matches
Rio Ave are 13th of 16 in the league and benfica have spanked 14th and 16th 3-0 and 4-0 at home, and the price today signals a replication of that for benfica.
Rio Ave unbeaten in last 5 WDWWD
Against the top 5 away, matches have been very tight, 2 1-0's and a 0-0 - this relative tightness is reflected in the head to heads where there was only a goal in it. Perhaps a 0-0 cover here?
5pm -
Fenerbahce v Sivasspor - 1.35 home - 12 points off top so need all the points they
530pm -
Panathinaikos v Olympiakos Volos - 1.32 home
545pm -
Heerenveen v De Graafschap - 1.43 home
7pm -
Espanyol v Barcelona - 1.31 - as dependable as they come at present, battering all before them, and Barca aren't too bad either ( only joking) - a real bogey team for Barca in last 3 head to heads, winning 2 and losing the other 1-0.
This makes it very interesting tonight. 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses in last 12 for Espanyol is pretty good going.
11 wins and a draw in last 12 for Barca.
8 wins, 3 draws in last 11 at home for Espanyol
Barca have won their last 9 matches - 8 of those 9 matches were over 2.5 goals. In light of this new evidence, can we discount the Espanyol head to heads?
Espanyol are 4th in the league, but Barca have beaten 2nd and 3rd quite comprehensively.
This really is a difficult game to weigh up. This Barca side are superb at the moment - does this negate the head to heads and Espanyol's superb home record? But they have not played the big boys at home and have lost comprehensively away to Villareal and Real Madrid.

745pm -
ADO Den Haag v Willem II - 1.35 home
