26/12

*****ONE A DAY - 730pm - Anderlecht v Lierse - back Anderlecht in the match odds at 1.17*****

3pm - Celtic v St Johnstone - 1.23 home - 2 points behind Rangers and a game more played means that Celtic must win. Consider , too, 3 home score draws on the trot. Truly unacceptable and a sequence that must end sooner rather than later. How about WDW for St Johnstone in their last 3 matches which have all been away matches.
This makes the match less than clear cut.
Away to Rangers, St Johnstone lost 2-1 and they have drawn 1-1 against 3rd and 4th in the league so keep things tight enough. Marry that with recent aways and this could be a tougher match for an out of form Celtic than the odds suggest.
Celtic have scored 5,5,3,3,3 in their last 5 head to heads with this lot. Hugely dominant in head to heads and ties in with the match odds of 1.23.
So do we ignore the recent form or do we take our cues from the head to heads.
3pm -
Man Utd v Sunderland - 1.28 home - top by 2 points with a game in hand , United are in the driving seat as the Xmas schedule arrives.
United are unbeaten this season and the only team in the Premiership with this record to fight for.
2010 head to heads a worry at 0-0 and 1-0 -with Brucey frustrate United again. It would seem this 1.28 looks layable early doors.
WWWDWWWWW at home for United.3,3,3,2,2,2,2,7,1 the goals scored by United at home this season ( 1-0 v Arsenal latest)
Great and consistent but contrasting with the head to heads v Sunderland
Sunderland are 6th so are no pushovers and check out their scorelines v the top teams ( 0-0 home v Man Utd, 1-1 home v Arsenal , 1-0 win v Man City home ) - yes all home matches and this is away ( there are no away matches v the top 4 to guage Sunderland by)
Against the top 5 Sunderland are unbeaten home and away - this must be acknowledged.
Darren Bent has scored 4 away from home so seems to be an integral part of the Sunderland side away.
The market makers have made up their mind but I see a tight frustrating match.
DDDLDWLD the away stats for Sunderland recently. They could be real pains in the arse.
They do have a number of injury concerns and have not scored against United in 6 of the last 8 appearances.
730pm -
Anderlecht v Lierse - 1.17 home - 1 point clear at the top so must win these home encounters.
WWDWWWDWD at home - unbeaten but there have been 2 draws in the last 3 matches which is a slight concern.
3 home draws have come across top 8 sides, Lierse are 2nd from bottom.
Most recent result was 2010 away for Anderlecht 1-1 and they scored first. All other head to heads ended 2007
4-1, 4-0, 4-1 against 4th from bottom, 3rd from bottom and bottom ( Lierse are 2nd from bottom) - an interesting sequence here which ties in with the 1.17 match odds.
Against top 12 sides away, Lierse have lost the lot. The points they have gained away have all come against bottom 4 sides ( 2 draws and a win)
Against 2nd and 4th away from home, Lierse have lost 4-1 and 7-0 ( note that 4 goals again coincidentally!!)
Lierse's only wins in last 12 have come in Cup games.

This looks nailed on for Anderlecht, despite acknowledging 2 draws in 3 at home recently.

No horse racing at all today which just leaves the above. Of the above, an argument can be made for all of the favourites. Celtic must surely put pay to a run of 3 home scoredraws on the trot ( that's 6 precious points squandered) against a side they have dominated in head to heads, but who only went down 2-1 to Rangers.
United , on the goalscoring front, are very consistent at home, only once not scoring 2 ( last match v Arsenal) . Head to heads in 2010 suggest a tight match but there are a number of injuries for Bruce.
Anderlecht look poised to replicate the recent 4 goal maulings dished out to Lierse on a regular basis when meeting top of table teams.

It is the latter match that seems more straightforward. Anderlecht against bottom 4 have won 4-1, 4-0, 4-1 and Lierse against 2nd and 4th away from home have lost 4-1 and 7-0.

2.14 over 3.5 goals and 3.6 ( illiquid market) over 4.5 goals will appeal for the speculator ( and might I add, the trader!!)
