1250 KEMPTON
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Slip, 4/1 El Distintivo, 13/2 Ci Vediamo, Hellfire Club, 11/1 Gratification, 16/1 Binfield, Departed, 20/1 Rock ´N´ Roller, Sarando, 25/1 Carbon Print, Contrada, Know Your Place, 28/1 Bagsy´s Bridge, Lady Sorcerer, 40/1 Mr Plod, 50/1 Final Son, 66/1 Bankers Bonus.
DIOMED VERDICT: SLIP has to defy a penalty for his Stratford success but he looks open to progress and the booking of Tony McCoy (5-14 for the yard) adds appeal. |
It's a big field but an 11/10 - - - 6/1 price gapper with McCoy onboard . I'm put off slightly by field size and the penalty the horse has to carry 1.25 to place
120 KEMPTON
BETTING FORECAST: 8/11 Like Minded, 9/2 Henry Hook, 11/2 Quartano, 13/2 Chosen Native, 14/1 Pak Jack, 28/1 Aim For The Stars, The Jolly Spoofer, 40/1 A Bid Too Far, 66/1 Silver Phoenix.
DIOMED VERDICT: LIKE MINDED brings useful bumper form to the table, having finished fourth in the Aintree equivalent of the Champion Bumper on his debut for Paul Nicholls, and can make a successful transition to hurdling. Nicholls/ Walsh combo here must be considered here given October is out of the way. Only 4 under 14/1 will hopefully play a part 1.13 to place -only 4 under 25/1 but writing at 10am means the market is not super accurate. Not run since April 2009. 205 WOLVES BETTING FORECAST: 2/1 Mureb, 5/2 Tesslam, 6/1 Gramercy, 7/1 State Fair, 8/1 Argaum, 10/1 Fivefold, 12/1 Music Maestro, 20/1 Elspeth´s Boy, 100/1 Heligoland, 200/1 Kadablue.
Guess who? Godolphin again at the head of the market with Mureb, under Ted Durcan - blind faith again? Well, it paid off yesterday. 1.27 to place and another debutant but as I said yesterday, this is one red hot yard at the moment and these horses are top quality pedigrees. Of course ,debutants, by their very nature carry some risk for betting purposes 420 WOLVES BETTING FORECAST: Evs Excellent Thought, 3/1 Tartufo Dolce, 7/1 Bronze Beau, 12/1 Kyoatee Kilt, Mosa Mine, 20/1 Fair Passion, Youcanalwaysdream, 25/1 Safari Camp, 33/1 Mosqueta, 50/1 Esradral.
Price gapper here and placed on last 3 occasions 1.22 to place SHORTLIST No footy today on a quietish Monday. 120 KEMPTON is the first race of interest for me today with Like Minded for Ruby and Paul Nicholls in a race where, currently, only 4 are under 25/1 so if Ruby can nurse the horse around these 2 miles 5 furlongs, without major incident, then the chances of placing is very good POSITIVES - Walsh/Nicholls. Only 4 under 25/1 and Quartano (original 3rd fav) is a non runner reducing Like Minded's potential rivals. NEGATIVES - not run since April 2009 . 2 miles 5 furlongs for newcomers to jumps is a long distance to stay focussed. 205 WOLVES - while they are in such hot form, Mureb for Godolphin must be considered with another debutant winner yesterday under Ted Durcan. POSITIVES - Godolphin have won, won, won recently and backing blindly has paid off big time in the last week. Horses' sights lowered and generally they win going away. NEGATIVES - debutant so depends on how this youngster takes to racing - will he run green? Near market rival too .Lots of horses open to some progress who at least have some experience ONE A DAY That's it for me today. A very quiet Monday and I'm writing this early as I have to take my friend to the airport. Preference is to do this nearer race time to account for potential non runners and price movers, but as things stand, the 2 above are the ones I would concentrate on. I would go with time order today I think and I think the 1.13 is just an illiquid early market where market forces have not played any part yet. If I can do an update nearer to 1240 then I will as this will ensure that I have the latest information. |
