3/10

Noble Greek 3rd and placed so job done

150 NEWMARKET
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Lillie Langtry, 9/2 Dubawi Heights, 13/2 Jira, 10/1 Sing Sweetly, 12/1 Pink Symphony, Siyaadah, 14/1 Cracking Lass, Sunarise, 28/1 Iptkaar, Song To The Moon, 33/1 Miss Smilla, Waveband, 50/1 Contredanse, Footsie, House Point, 66/1 Al Joza,

DIOMED VERDICT: Lillie Langtry sets the standard and may prove a cut above this field at level weights but a tempting alternative, at the likely prices, is DUBAWI HEIGHTS.

Price gapper from Ballydoyle must carry maximum respect. - a big competitive field though 1.18 to place

210 REDCAR
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Rebel Chieftain, 4/1 Antoniola, 5/1 Stefanki, 11/2 Tesslam, 7/1 Mr Irons, 10/1 Smayal, 14/1 Battle Study, 20/1 Always De One, Dandino, Taste The Victory, 33/1 Inshaallah, Tres Amigos, 66/1 Magical Dancers,

DIOMED VERDICT: TESSLAM ran well for a long way on easy ground in a race that threw up winners on his debut and he's open to plenty of improvement for his in-form yard.

Tesslam is all red and quite a mover into 13/8 - like yesterday's maiden horse (which won ) 1.25 to place

215 GOWRAN
BETTING FORECAST: 5/2 Roseska, 3/1 Man Friday, 6/1 Calle Aneto, Southampton, 7/1 Beat The Boss, 8/1 Perfect Buttons, 10/1 Chebona Bula, La Tizona, Summerlea, 12/1 Park Ranger, 14/1 Frosted Grape, Ptolemaeus, Quiet Ocean, 16/1 Ardglen Trier, Colberay, 20/1 Snow Feather, Templar Knight, 33/1 Document, Weehen.

Price gapper but big field and Irish racing - 1.24 to place

240 LONGCHAMP
Goldikova is 4/9 - - - - 7/1 price gapper in this Group 1 - must be one hell of a horse to be 4/9 in a group 1!! 1.16 to place

350 GOWRAN
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Fort George, 9/2 Paddy Curry, 5/1 Present Diamonds, 11/2 Oklahoma Jack, 8/1 Baltic Sound, 10/1 Spirit Tornado, 12/1 Persian Buck, 14/1 Baltoro, Cillin Hill, Saddle My Dream, Taylor Swift, 16/1 Mister Two Fifty, Wings From Heaven, 33/1 Belass Boy, Duke Of Otranto, Molly Alone.

Another price gapper in a big field Irish race 1.23 to place

FOOTBALL
14:30 Bayern Munich vs Cologne 2/9
Mixed campaign for Bayern with a couple of losses - FC Koln have lost all matches against top 7 sides which augurs well for Bayern NOT losing - as ever I would love to see both Ribery and Robben playing if entertaining a bet 1.27 - lost 1-0 last game but put in context of last game before Champions league mid week game
17:00 Chernomorets Bu. vs Montana 1/6
4 home wins on the trot in the Bulgarian league - away side have won/drawn/lost away this season, but do we trust the Bulgarian league? 1.18 but highly illiquid and not in running
17:00 Levadeiakos vs Olympiacos 6/1 3/1 4/11
Won all 3 awway from home scoring 2 goals in each away match augurs well - 1.37 - don't expect fireworks in Greek matches - likely to be 0-0 half time and 1-0 fulltime to Oly
17:30 Manchester Utd vs Sunderland 1/5
Remember this is Man Utd v Steve Bruce's Sunderland so head to heads are largely redundant - head to heads against previous Bruce sides is probably a more accurate reflection of what may happen this afternoon. Where Bruce is involved v the Big 4, it's usually a tight tight game with the big 4 team eventually running out winners- it was with Brum, Wigan, and could be again with Sunderland.
SUnderland have only failed to score in one match, v Stoke. They scored in the 3-1 defeat to Chelsea and I would look at this result as something Man Utd can replicate, so perhaps the tight games of Bruce's past are gone against Top 4 sides, or Sunderland ust have a mountain to climb to fight on level terms 1.22 and correct score 2 market up on Betfair, so they are expecting a replication of the 3-1 Chelsea score
18:45 AZ Alkmaar vs NAC Breda 2/5
Amazingly, AZ have had trouble scoring in their last 3 games - 1 in 3 and 3 losses on the trot.
A chance maybe for recompense against an NAC side who lost 6-0 and 3-1 to top 4 sides
Can we trust AZ who seem to have lost it somewhere in their last 3 matches? 1.42
19:00 Barcelona vs Almería 1/10
The Bank of Barca will be open at 7pm, and today is paying 10%
A team you can trust -likely to score 2 or more so over 2.5 goals may be one for me -1.11 to win and 1.35 over 2.5 goals which is tradeable with an early 1st goal or at 2-0
19:45 Feyenoord vs RKC Waalwijk 1/6
Have played 2 of the big boys at home last 2 games and results have been draw and lose. Away side soming off the back of a confidence boosting 4-1 home win, but Feyenoord are likely to get back to winning ways against far weaker opposition 1.26
19:45 Inter vs Udinese 4/9
A generally weak league this one - the one stat that stands out here is the Mourinho home stat, -lost away to Samp last time ( Champions league match afterwards a coincidence?)
3rd v 5th so 4/9 a tad short for me. Like Inter, Udinese have also lost away to Samp but elsewhere have been solid enough 1.47
20:30 Brazil Youth vs Australia Youth 1/5
Have been standout in this tournament - 4/9 last time and 0-0 against solid Czechs - should get back to winning ways today against the Ozzies 1.28 - will need to check whether this is a must win for the Brazilians to get them through to the next round or whether this is a dead rubber
21:15 Braga vs Vitoria Setubal 1/4
Solid, and unexpected start from Braga this season, threatening to break the Sporting/Benfica/Porto triumvirate
Have beaten Sportin g and Porto this season and are 5 from 5
Away side have lost 4, drawn 1 and won 1 1-0 . Away from is poor, and spanked 8-0 by Benfica could be the scoreline this evening - expectation for goals and a good home win . Concern for me is 5 wins on the trot - sequentially this will end, BUT to be fair they are playing 2nd from bottom and shoould continue
SHORTLIST
150 NMKT - Ballydoyle odds on shots cannot be ignored , Lillie Langtry 1.18 to place - negative high class competitive field - only 2 under 12/1 include Dubawi Heights
240 LONGCHAMP- Goldikova has a few 1's in the form column, and at 4/9 in a group 1 must be related to Pegasus the flying horse, and at 1.16 I would entertain based solely on the short price in a listed race. Olivier peslier onboard and has won 5 times on the horse which is a big positive. No betting forecast here so going strictly by the live market.

Barcelona v Almeria - 1.11 at present and rock solid -averaging 3 a game-Almeria need Hail Mary yeh to get anything out of this game -3 draws- 1-0 loss and 1-0 win hint that they may keep this tight early, BUT hey, they have not played any of the big boys yet this season.

ONE A DAY
Barcelona is the rock solid one today, and I may opt for over 2.5 goals to trade at a juicy 1.35
Of the horses, it is difficult to pick between Lille Langtry and Goldikova, and I would be happy with both and will probably get involved in the live betting market ( as this is a Saturday there is no need to be inflexible and just opt for Barca and leave it at that)-NOTE - place market in French races DOES NOT go in running
And remember to look out for enhanced bets - me? I would look at the games above that go in running and that show a shock goal for the underdogs - watch out, too, if Bolton go a goal ahead - with the attacking line up Spurs have, I am sure they will equalise if going a goal down.
Do try the enhanced betting out - I keep harping on aboout it because it makes cash-and we like that!!
