7/9

I was tempted by Australia Day because of the confidence in the market and he rewarded me with a win. The Ghanaians won 2-0, as you'd expect from a v strong African Nation

Kim Clijsters traded at 1.19 after winning the first set, allowing for a great trade there. AS it happened it was another superb trading match. I laid Kim at 1.19 wit 6-0 first set, only for Venus Williams to stage a great recovery and go 3-0 up 2nd set. I backed Kim at around 1.45 and created a £75 green screen for a liability of £100 initially.

The key to success? Remember -Venus HAS NOT LOST YET after the first set!!

Kilkenny took til the 62nd minute to get some points ahead to allow proper trading in what was a superb hurling final which was tighter than a gnat's chuff ( as Viz would say)

220 FOLKSTONE
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Art Scholar, 2/1 Danny´s Choice, Kalam Daleel, 33/1 Watch Chain.

DIOMED VERDICT: ART SCHOLAR's striking potential shown at Bath earns him the narrow vote over Kalam Daleel and Danny's Choice.

Kalam Daleel is a non runner - 1.06 Art , 1.12 Danny's and 5 for Watch Chain.Watch chain is at 33/1 so surely should play no part ( bar any tactical indecision or an injury to a horse)

1.34 to win and 4 to win for Dannys choice. Now if we assume that this is a 2 horse race, then perhaps backing Dannys choice at 4, and laying out at 3.8 will give us a 1.20 equivalent return ( remember to set stakes so the returns are greened up on all 3 horses.

230 NEWCASTLE
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Aalsmeer, 7/4 Love Delta, 4/1 Namecheck, 14/1 Cape Kimberley, 16/1 Kellys Eye, 20/1 Fortunes Of Fire, 33/1 Chookie Avon, Mark Carmers, Silver Socks, 66/1 Meetings Man, 100/1 Bonasera, Dazakhee, Ed´s A Red.

DIOMED VERDICT: LOVE DELTA is better than he showed at Beverley and can upset form horse Aalsmeer.

Only 3 under 16/1 here surely the ones to focus on ( barring any 16/1 system and smoke and mirror SIGNIFICANT movers) Fav has 322 form 1.17 the fav

400 NEWCASTLE
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Implication, 11/4 Duke Of Burgundy, 7/2 Barbarian, 4/1 Northside Prince, 14/1 Severio, 16/1 Cool Baranca, 33/1 Fabled Dancer, 50/1 Short Supply, Spiosra, Wings Of Kintyre, 100/1 Argent Avia, Riverside, Silvertown Boy, Spartan Princess.

DIOMED VERDICT: This looks a good opportunity for IMPLICATION to gain a belated first win, especially with one line of form giving her the edge over Barbarian.

22022 for the fav is some impressive form. Only 4 under 16/1 here should be the ones to concentrate on 1.26 to place

510 BATH
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Arab League, 11/4 Regal Blush, 4/1 Sushitan, 6/1 Dawn At Sea, 9/1 Captain Oats, 20/1 Lucy´s Perfect, Regal Angel, 25/1 Restless Swallow.

DIOMED VERDICT: ARAB LEAGUE deserves to pick up a race and this looks a suitable target.

A string of 2nds a good indication of place chances? BUT watch out - it's amateur riders - 7 runners and 3 places and 1.22 the place for Arab

655 CLONMEL
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Blindspin, 6/1 Delgany Blaze, 13/2 Ben´s Folly, 7/1 Treble Expresso, 10/1 Vision Of Glory, 14/1 De Senectute, Elkhart Lake, 16/1 Ballymac´s Present, 20/1 The Newbie, Wrapitupboys, 25/1 Handsome Joe, Manger Hanagment, Pullbangdust, Tippointernational, 33/1 Church Outing, Grandslam Baby, The Gripper, Zoe Steel,

Price gapper but is a maiden hurdle illiquid price at the moment

Heavy ground a concern

FOOTBALL
German ladies face Norway ladies today and are 1.29 to win

Spain under 21's are 1.05 to beat Leichtenstein and this indicates goals - halftime/fulltime and halftime / over 2.5 goals are all to be considered here. The markets are very illiquid alas meaning we are not getting accurate prices to back because layers are being naughty and putting up the shortest prices they can, and as there are no market forces, then these short prices remain unchallenged.

SHORTLIST/ONE A DAY
220 Folkstone is the one for me quite easily I think. If we safely assume Watch Chain runs as a 33/1 shot, then Dannys choice backed at 4.00 and a lay bet at 3.35 or 3.4 will secure a 1.20 / 1.25 equivalent return

Back Danny's at 3.95 currently for £100
Lay DAnny's (KEEP BETS) at 3.35 for £117.91

Green screen profit is 17.12 (equivalent of 1.17 - don't ask me how it's calculated - that's what Fairbot is for!!)

Alternatively if we assume Watch chain plays no part then Dannys choice is 1.12 to place and should place .Ultra safe should be Art scholar at 1.06 , perhaps to double up with Spain under 21's against Leichtenstein to create around a 1.10 return ( NOT one a day though is it BUT still should come in)
Potential negatives? Well, we are dealing with 2 year olds I suppose and they are, by their very nature, still learning
