12/7

Mazzola placed at 1.52, surprisingly Jolly hockeysticks unplaced. Yamal won so the lay lost. Doughnut won. Hamish McGonnigall won and irple Cee lost, albeit a relatively bigger priced lay.
Irish combos - 12/1 unplaced, 8/1 unplaced, 1st 4/1 at Wexford, 3rd 10/1 and again enhanced odds on BEtfair ensure we scrape a profit
Note too the number of evens and lower horses who lost in Ireland AGAIN, a quick glance showed 5th at evens and 2nd at 1/2. This is a regular occurence and something worth investigating for odds on layers

8 meetings on bookie benefit day

ASCOT
220
BETTING FORECAST: 6/5 Markyg, 7/2 Sixties Swinger, 4/1 Pegasus Lad, 11/2 Rio Del Oro, 16/1 Fisher Hill, 25/1 The Cheka .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The score between MARKYG and Pegasus Lad stands at 1-1, but the Chesham Stakes, in which Karl Burke's colt came out clearly the better, looks much the more relevant piece of form. The betting should give an idea of expecations for the newcomers

Lay Markyg if odds on? 3 in close enough proximity to be deemed rivals

255
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Cesare, 2/1 Ramonti, 11/2 Archipenko, 12/1 Pressing, 16/1 Elusive Warning, 25/1 Barshiba, Kandidate .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: With the doubt over Ramonti's fitness - although Godolphin's Hala Bek was also presumably thought badly in need of his race on Thursday, when he won by 7l - and Archipenko and Pressing looking vulnerable under their penalties, this should be a good opportunity for course specialist CESARE.[RA]

Group 2 class 1 - lay the fav if we can engineer odds on either pre race or thru keep bets. Looks to concern the 3 but in races of this nature outsiders in class 2 races are still class 2 horses!

435
BETTING FORECAST: 11/4 Crimson Fern, 5/1 Strike Up The Band, 6/1 Siren´s Gift, 13/2 Mac Gille Eoin, 8/1 Judd Street, The Trader, 10/1 Something, 11/1 Matsunosuke, 14/1 Evens And Odds, 33/1 Sir Edwin Landseer .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: CRIMSON FERN has improved out of all recognition and although things have not worked out for her in every race this season, they have on five occasions and it is very hard to go against her given the style of her Sandown win eight days ago. Siren's Gift and Strike Up The Band are feared most.[RA]

Crimson Fern alternate form 12131 -another place or a win to break the sequence? I'll chance a lay here, again trying to get as low odds as possible

545
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Cheveton, 11/2 What Do You Know, 6/1 Efistorm, Hereford Boy, 14/1 Blessed Place, Cape Royal, Malapropism, 16/1 Digital, Thoughtsofstardom, 20/1 Calabaza .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: CHEVETON (nap) is going from strength to strength and makes easily the most appeal. Efistorm could be the chief problem if, as suspected, he has come on for his first two runs this season.

Highly progressive form for the fav here. Won his last 2 by 11/2 and 2 1/2 lengths - so convincing enough. Again we face the conundrum - hatrick or will the weight penalties stop the sequence? Place only for me today. I think another solid run is on the cards

335 CHESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 15/8 Borderlescott, 11/4 Oldjoesaid, 11/2 Hoh Hoh Hoh, 6/1 Green Manalishi, 15/2 Angus Newz, 9/1 Day By Day, 20/1 Bertoliver, 33/1 Foxy Music, 40/1 Coconut Moon, 500/1 Willhewiz .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The two best runners have the widest draws to contend with which certainly muddies the waters. Angus Newz is perfectly drawn to attack and will make a bold bid to fulfil her trainer's dream of winning this race with her but BORDERLESCOTT, who ran so well for this rider in a Haydock Group 2, and Oldjoesaid may ultimately have too much class for he

Looks layable the fav here in a competitive field

410
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Like For Like, 9/4 Red Baron Dancer, 8/1 Say You Say Me, Titus Andronicus, 12/1 Lemon Dash, 14/1 Ballade De La Mer, 16/1 Lucky Numbers, 20/1 Dark Velvet, 33/1 Accomplishment, Peckforton .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: LIKE FOR LIKE may be worth one more chance as she had a legitimate excuse when a beaten favourite for the third time at Brighton on Monday and, on previous form, in particular a third in a 5f Windsor maiden two starts back, is definitely the one to beat. Red Baron Dancer may well be next best unless there is a strong market move for one of the newcomers, none of whom make strong appeal on paper.

SUccessful odds on lay for me last time, place only bet today

IRISH COMBOS at Curragh and Dundalk

640 HAMILTON
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Glenveagh, 3/1 Johnston´s Glory, 5/1 Saafend Geezer, 7/1 Gelert, Violet´s Pride, 10/1 Mensadil, 14/1 Head To Head, 25/1 Portugal, 33/1 La Guancha, Terandeil, 66/1 Sokoke, 100/1 Deer Park Lord, Ourbelle .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Races don't come much weaker than this one. GLENVEAGH hasn't run since last summer but he showed enough on two starts last year to suggest he should go well in a race of this nature for his in-form yard if retaining any of that abilit

LAy Glenveagh here ,again try to secure a shorter price

725 SALIS
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Tudor Key, 3/1 Canwinn, 6/1 Granski, 8/1 Full Toss, 16/1 Silver Print, 25/1 Kidson, Prince Siegfried, 33/1 Dubai Crest, Meirig´s Dream, Zaruschka, 50/1 Bermondsey Bob, 100/1 Into My Arms .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The betting should provide some pointers to the prospects of the newcomers but no surprise if the form horses Canwinn and TUDOR KEY dominate, though the ability of both to handle soft ground has to be taken on trust

Lay tudor key - "ability...to handle soft ground has to be taken on trust"

800
BETTING FORECAST: Evs Topazes, 9/2 Traphalgar, 6/1 Border Owl, 8/1 Meydan Dubai, 10/1 Majority, 14/1 Bere Davis, 20/1 Rich Kid, 25/1 Ten Pole Tudor .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Successful four times and runner-up twice since venturing into handicaps, TOPAZES (nap) may not have finished progressing just yet and, proven on soft ground, looks difficult to oppose with solid alternatives thin on the ground. Traphalgar could emerge as the main dange

Winnign sequence has already been broken so we may have missed the lay. A new winning sequence started? Chance a win, perference place

FOOTY
Friendlies today and again no motivation makes it difficult to guage odds. Man Utd are 1.51 against Aberdeen. Neutral over 2.5 goals bet here, ditto in the Liverpool match I think.
