11/7

Good results for laying shorties in Ireland, winner at 11/10 and 2 2nds at 1/2 and 5/4

That look won at 5/2. Green beret won at 1.27 ! - thanks to a non runner

That look was too big, relatively thinking, for laying but we could have got odds on.
700 CHEPSTOW
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Timeteam, 2/1 Mazzola, 9/4 Night Seed, 20/1 Conakry, 33/1 Colin Staite .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: There are reservations about Mazzola both in terms of the trip and ground, and preference is for TIMETEAM. Night Seed is presumably capable of a good deal better and could pose problems

Place only betting on Mazzola here - 3 horse race?

BETTING FORECAST: 8/11 Jollyhockeysticks, 6/1 Bikini, Zulu Princess, 8/1 Welsh Opera, 10/1 Bold Diva, 14/1 Iamagrey, 25/1 Dawn Wind ,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: It's hard to look beyond JOLLYHOCKEYSTICKS, who's been found a realistic opportunity to gain swift recompense for last week's disqualified first past the post.

If we take the disqualified first past the post as a win, then this horse is on a hatrick. Soft ground tonight - looks good for the place I think.

640 CHESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Yamal, 9/4 Candle Sahara, 7/2 La Chicaluna, 10/1 Danzig Fox, King Hafhafah, 33/1 Scanno .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The recent easing of the ground puts a different complexion on things and, although not the most consistent, this could go to heavy-ground course winner LA CHICALUNA, who has fair prospects back over this trip if her penultimate run can be reproduced.

Lay Yamal again try odds on "the recent easing of the ground puts a different complexion"

BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Doughnut, 9/4 Madame Trop Vite, 5/1 Our Wee Girl, 7/1 Countrywide City, 10/1 Digit .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: DOUGHNUT wasn't at her very best on quick ground last time but conditions here should suit much better and she won't have to improve too much to go close. Pick of the remainder is Madame Trop Vite, although she wouldn't want to be losing too much ground at the start this time.

2/1 the front 2 - an evens bet to level stakes, but is a conditions race

745
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Hamish McGonagall, 3/1 Little Pete, 10/1 Fol Hollow, Requisite, Secret Asset, 14/1 Cake, Thunder Bay, 25/1 Regal Step ,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: All roads lead to HAMISH McGONAGALL (nap), who has the best recent form, the early toe to make use of the best draw and no problems with cut in the ground. Requisite is better than she was able to show last time and looks the chief threat.

No winning sequence just yet - looks worth a chance here, obvious place only opportunity

CORK
Irish combos again -watch out for them - we're due a lull after the 10/1 and 9/2 SP winners recently (bigger on Betfair) - preference agin for big prices each way - I might pop up this evening - looks a good way to spend a Friday

620 NEWB
BETTING FORECAST: 5/2 Triple Cee, 7/1 Dream In Waiting, 8/1 Anaasheed, Ballyalla, Minor Vamp, 10/1 It´s Toast, Key Signature, Polly´s Choice, 14/1 Le Grand Amour, 16/1 Miss Sophisticat, 20/1 Lake Kalamalka, Polly´s Mark, 33/1 Fleur De´Lion, Protiva ,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Triple Cee has the best form on offer but there are a few in here open to improvement and perhaps one of them will progress past her. Dream In Waiting is a possible, but preference is for MINOR VAMP, who was very green on debut but who will know more now and has an extra furlong to help her this tim

Triple Cee to lay -big fieild maiden for fillies - yikes! - try to get odds on
