13/11

Yet another maiden hurdle shortie bit the dust in Sowdrey - who was on at 2/5! - OUCH! Schindlers Gold contrived to win - fair enough. Granite Man was pulled up.French accordian was backed into 11/8 favouratism with Central House and a level stakes the first 2 would have been my call had I been able to update with reference to live prices. Central House came 3rdOn o the each wys, and who took this piece of advice on board "There is a suspicion in the back of my mind that KAdam could be a bookmaker manufactured gamble to suck in the mugs like me (or I've been watching the X Files too much!)"and Kadam, as I suspected, did feck all and my other mention Brave Bugsy won - don't trust the bookies!Telegonus came 2nd for each way betsSo,still the each ways are outperforming the price gappers

325 LIMERICKBETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Kirbybroguelantern, 6/1 Guiding Dream, Super Cris, 8/1 Davids Day, Mooretown Boy, 10/1 Tigerland, 12/1 Darazari River, 14/1 Weavers Cottage, 20/1 Dillons Hill, Lord Luck, 25/1 Never Will, 33/1 Maria Antoinette, Nellie May, Tales Of New York ,
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: KIRBYBROGUELANTERN was a smart bumper performer and should be able to account for these rivals on his second attempt over hurdles. It seems a little off that he was thrown in at the deep-end in a Grade 2m novice hurdle at Chepstow, and while it was disappointing that he was such a remote fifth behind the promising Elusive Dream this clearly represents a big drop in class. He showed good qualities in winning three successive bumpers at Ballinrobe, Tralee and Down Royal during May/June, and was not beaten far in third in a 1m5f maiden at Wexford in July.
I really am a glutton for punishment - another price gap and another maiden hurdle. I am taken by the drop of class but put off by race type, as you can imagine. Another big field means another over evens price no doubt which may be worth entertaining.
It must be said, though, that the consistency lies with the each way bets at present which offer better prices and the opportunity to return stakes for palced horses
EACH WAYS
110 LINGFIELD
BETTING FORECAST: 1/8 Roaring Forte, 12/1 Celtic Charlie, 14/1 Banjo Bandit, 33/1 Duneen Dream, Police Officer, 50/1 Avril Valley .
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: ROARING FORTE, given a considerate introduction when fourth at Newmarket last month, looks a class above these on that evidence and will be very difficult to beat on his AW debut.Yes, only 2 the place but such a short priced favourite necessitates enhanced odds for the other horses. If you want ,an each way play on the 2nd and 3rd betting forecast favs should accomodate any poor running from the apparent nailed on jolly. This is not strictly in keeping with the tactics I normally use for my each way selections and is more for the speculative punter amongst you. ( I suppose at the odds you'll get an equal return by laying the jolly - it won't cost much and as long as you view this as a losing bet before you start, you can be in with a chance if Roaring FOrte somehow contrives to lose and temper stakes accordingly)

BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 What´s For Tea, 5/2 Redsensor, 6/1 Miss Solo, 10/1 Bollywood Style, 12/1 Mairead´s Boy, 20/1 Chemise, 25/1 Valtat, 33/1 La Varrosa, 50/1 Alannah .
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This looks to concern Redsensor and WHAT'S FOR TEA, with preference for the Tom Dascombe-trained runner who has at least won a race.[AM]A 2 year old claimer - oh why me Lord? We can see the betting forecaster pricing up as 2 horse race with 4 preceived outsiders. This leaves us really with Miss Solo and Bollywood style and ,to some extent MAiread's Boy as the each way potentials. The obvious candidate is, of course, Miss Solo, although given the race type, I wouldn't expect the race to finish 1-2-3 as per the first 3 in the betting forecast.

All in all today, the racing does not fit the criteria I want to see when doing my new each way bets. Similarly there are potential price gappers - one I note with McCo on board, but these tend to be horses having their hurdling debuts and are no sure things.
If you want a bet go ahead, but in a tricky Monday you could swerve today and wait for better opportunities. Remember - the bookies have to get involved in every race every day - WE DON'T!
