17/6

Well done MAstercraftsman yesterday.
140 WORCESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Khumbu, 7/2 Criterion, 5/1 Converti, Quedillac, 20/1 Von Galen, 25/1 Bathwick Lucy, 33/1 Blessed Forever, 40/1 Alfie Valentine, Grenoli, 50/1 Filly So Fickle, Lucky Jimmy, 66/1 Simplyirresistible, 100/1 Bickwell.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: KHUMBU's second at Uttoxeter reads well and he can take this, possibly at the expense of Converti, though support for Quedillac would be interesting

Yesterday's maiden hurdle short priced favourite did not even place. The clue is in the title - MAIDEN hurdle - much like traditional flat maidens. Here we have another shortie but we also have my favourite jumps jockey, Robert Thornton on board.
Only 4 under 20/1 in the live market. Unlike yesterday though, this maiden hurdler has had plenty of hurdles experience 1.26 to place

210 WORCESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Miss Phoebe, 7/4 Zuwaar, 11/2 Another Bottle, 13/2 Le Brocquy, 25/1 Vic´s World, 33/1 Bernabeu, 40/1 Ophistrolie, 50/1 Always Certain, Flexible Friend, 66/1 How Realee, Tribiani, 100/1 Obrigado, 200/1 Jeanry, Monsieur Sub.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: MISS PHOEBE should be able to account for recent winners Another Bottle and Le Brocquy on these terms and more of threat is likely to come from Zuwaar, who knows how to win on the Flat and has the champion's services for his first try over hurdles.[Jonathan Neesom]

4 under 25/1 in the betting forecast here surely should be the ones to concentrate on, bar any smoke and mirrors type movers in the live market.
Vics World and Bernabeu potential 16/1 movers 1.33 and 1.58 the front 2 to place in an illiquid market.

305 ASCOT
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Lush Lashes, 5/2 Heaven Sent, 7/1 Proviso, 8/1 Eva´s Request, Spacious, 25/1 Chantilly Tiffany, She´s Our Mark, 40/1 Rosaleen, Royal Confidence.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The heavy ground was all against LUSH LASHES on last month's reappearance and a return to her best, which she certainly showed often enough in an excellent 3yo campaign, would probably see her add this race to her 2008 Coronation Stakes. Heaven Sent and Eva's Request are the most likely dangers, given that Spacious has become rather frustrating.[Richard Austen]

Another superb card and a top heavy market with Lush Lashes and Heaven Sent perhaps the ones to focus on. The former was poor on heavy in only 2009 run. 1.33 and 1.53 the front 2 to place

345 ASCOT
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Tartan Bearer, 3/1 Vision D´Etat, 4/1 Never On Sunday, 8/1 Twice Over, 12/1 Virtual, 14/1 Trincot, 20/1 Tazeez, 100/1 Estejo.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The form TARTAN BEARER (nap) showed when second in last year's Derby gives him an edge over these and though not quite at that level when winning on his first run for 10 months at Sandown in April, he did enough then to suggest that he will be at his peak this time, with that run behind him. Vision d'Etat is the biggest danger.[Mel Cullinan]

The straight 8 so 3 places. 2 outsiders at 20/1 and 100/1 could be discounted - reducing competitive field to 6, and 3 places? 1.33 TArtan to place

Only 3 under 10/1

410 HAMILTON
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Northern Empire, 100/30 Cayman Fox, 9/2 Brut, 5/1 Howards Tipple, 7/1 Creative, 25/1 Chimbonda, Fire Up The Band, North South Divide, 33/1 Howards Prince.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Cayman Fox should get her own way in front but she might once again set things up for a closer and NORTHERN EMPIRE, who still retains a touch of class in this grade and is suited by a well-run race, is taken to finish the stronger.[Graeme North]

"will be tough to beat" says Spotlight. 1.43 to place

640 KEMPTON
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Queen Of Pentacles, 4/1 Opera Wings, 15/2 Celtic Lass, Our Last Call, 9/1 M´Lady Rousseur, Zeyadah, 12/1 Moojeh, 20/1 Born Romantic, Miss Doodle, 33/1 Samba Mirander, 50/1 Fine Tolerance, Katie The Hatter, Sanctum,

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Queen Of Pentacles went with plenty of promise on her Newbury debut and looks sure to go well, but OPERA WINGS will surely have learned from her initial experience and this longer trip should bring about plenty of improvement.[Paul Smith]

2nd fav a non runner turns fav into odds on and big price gapper in live market. Only one run again in a maiden and first time on all weather 1.22 to place -illiuid market

740 KEMP
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Silver Symphony, 9/2 Jamary, 15/2 Ambrogina, 9/1 Brunette, 12/1 Lady Valiant, 14/1 Gulf Punch, 16/1 Chicha Morada, 20/1 Riffelalp, 33/1 Sandfairyann, The Frying Pan.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The betting should be helpful regarding Ambrogina and Brunette as well as the newcomers, but this looks best left to SILVER SYMPHONY, whose Newbury second gives her sound prospects over a trip which is expected to suit.[Frank Carter]

10 down to 8 runners and big prie gapper in the live market. Silver Symphony now odds on but has Frank on board. Couple this with the fact this maiden has some debutants and it becomes less of a confident bet. 1.09 to place

920 RIPON
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Maverin, 9/2 Quasi Congaree, 6/1 Prime Circle, 10/1 Jill Le Brocq, 12/1 Crimson Mist, 14/1 Arriva La Diva, Qualitas, 16/1 Lily Jicaro, 20/1 Medicean Man, 25/1 Arjemis, Carragold, 33/1 New Leyf, 50/1 Chichen Daawe, 100/1 Willent, Wrens Hope.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: MAVERIN could be vulnerable to an improver or capable newcomer on the face of things but he got closer to the target than previously when dropped to 6f at Yarmouth last week and this looks just about the weakest maiden he's contested. Quasi Congaree is feared most of the others with experience

Odds on shot ,another under Dazzler tonight and good progressive form but anther maiden with potential improvers and a couple of debutants. 1.22 to place

FOOTBALL
South Africa 1.33 to beat New Zealand who weren't too bad in the 2nd half against Spain (but perhaps Spain relaxed 2nd half)
South Africa were poor against Iraq and NZ were ,well, just NZ against Spain.
Spain 1.07 v Iraq - backed in from 1.08 yesterday and believe me it takes tens of thousands to move such a strong market overnight.
1.09 over 1.5 goals
1.33 over 2.5 goals
1.3 half time Spain
Torres and Villa 1.61 to score
Looks the ideal stop off point again for one a day.
Rosenborg 1.12 away from home in the Norwegian Cup.

SHORTLIST
140 WORC - Khumba at 1.26 to place - 4 only under 20/1 in the betting forecast could hint at a less than competitive affair. Robert Thornton on board and he is a top jumps jockey.
NEGATIVES - maiden hurdle

305 ASCOT
5 horses under 25/1 should be the ones to focus on.
Using software like Fairbot, I can engineer a 10% return on the front 2 and a marginal loss on the 3 other horses I think will be involved.
From a place only perspective? Lush LAshes and Heaven Sent the ones to focus on, but will they both finish in the front 3?

345 ASCOT - Tartan bearer is enticing given it's just the straight 8 here, there's 2 clear outsiders, and Ryan Moore has been in superb form recently.
1.33 to place is a great price

410 HAMILTON. A race of 2 halves with 5 runners only under 20/1 and Northern Empire a potential " hard to beat " selection 1.44 might be worth the risk? Why the biggish place price? This is a class 6 claimer!!

Spain v Iraq - NUFF SAID! MAy risk over 2.5 goals today at 1.33 or chance Spain to make a breakthrough in the first half at 1.3

ONE A DAY
I will, indeed, chance Spain to be winning at half time at 1.3. They just need to score in the first half to no reply . 1/14 indicates a win by 3 goals or thereabouts.
The trading option is there if 2-0 early.

How about the 2.30 at Hamilton?
Now 6 runners and 3 places. Top 3 1.24, 1.34 and 1.49 (13.37) others double fig. odds.
