19/10

The horse racing markets will not be formed yet as I write ( 740am) and I will not be able to view them when properly formed ( 11am) as the Betfair course begins 11am, so this is really a provisional message.

2pm - Lithuania U19 v Spain U19 - 1.19 away - a 6 game winning run ended for the Spanish with 2 consecutive losses to Japan and France. They won the next game against Ghana 4-0. Here they are the same as their younger colleagues yesterday who won as their odds suggested 3-0.

Lithuania will take heart from a current 4 game unbeaten run , 3 wins and a draw although we are talking Estonia ( win/draw) , FK Minija and Latvia. THis is hardly earth shattering form.

Asian handicap starts at +1.5 All of Spain's last 10 matches and all of Lithuania's last 12 matches have finished over 1.5 goals. This is reflected in the 1.11 quote. Over 2.5 goals is 1.45 but may rely, as yesterday, solely on Spain.

745pm - B Munich v CFR Cluj - 1.32 home - 3-0 at the weekend should make Bayern happy -3 losses and 2 draws in their last 9 matches is not good enough for Bayern.

Cluj are in bad form, having won only 3 in their last 12 matches. They have lost against Roma and Basel ( the latter beaten by Bayern 2-1)
Bayern have tended to win alternately this season -here are the recent matches WLWLWDWD - (latest first) - this signals perhaps that a draw or loss is most likely. BUT their price today indicates that this quite lengthy sequence should end and instead of an alternate L or D we could see a W tonight.
Likely this will be a tight match.

745pm - Luton v Forest Green - 1.3 home - Forest Green have not won any of their last 11 matches.
745pm - Marseille v Zilina - 1.3 home - Zilina hae been comprehensively beaten so far in the Champions League despite domestic dominance hinting they might have been a force.
Marseille have been beaten in their last 2 matches 2-0 by Chelsea ( although one goal was a penalty so it would hint at the match being tighter than the scoreline)

Only 2 losses at home in last 12 ( one on opening day of league to Caen and the other Spartak Moscow 1-0)

310 EXETER

BETTING FORECAST: 1/3 Celestial Halo, 4/1 Rougham, 10/1 Diamond Brook, 20/1 Jocheski, 33/1 The Brimmer.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Paul Nicholls has won three of the last six renewals of this race with odds-on chances and CELESTIAL HALO should be another with a clear round. He's not the biggest of individuals but was mostly a sound jumper of hurdles and this looks his to lose. Rougham is a scopey individual crying out for fences and probably the biggest threat.[Alistair Whitehouse-Jones]

Celestial Halo in a beginners chase. The place only market likely to be a relatively close price to the win only market.

150 YARMOUTH

BETTING FORECAST: 4/7 Aneedah, 5/2 Arizona Jewel, 12/1 Dancing Rain, 16/1 Insieme, 20/1 Run On Ruby, 33/1 Handicraft, 33/1 Mrs Lovely, 40/1 Polly Holder, 100/1 The Absent Mare.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Arizona Jewel is the 'aunty' of exciting juvenile Frankel and it would be significant if the market speaks in her favour but ANEEDAH is very much the one to beat on the form she showed when fourth in the Tattersalls Millions 2yo Fillies' Trophy at Newmarket early this month.[Steven Boow]

Only 2 under 12/1 in the betting forecast. This could change of course in the live market.
