18/12

Another 4th place and possible profit/loss on the day scuppered by another abandonment at Ayr . This is why I said perhaps the football was a better option until racing becomes more settled
I am doing this the night before so again we may be open to abandonments
CATTERICK
Inspection at 7am hardly instils confidence
Worse still we face a 17 runner amatuer riders handicap hurdle - oh joy!
Soft ground on the hurdles course at Folkstone is not ideal
Dasheena in the 310 Southwell looks the best of a bad bunch today
FOOTY
Premiership teams in the Carling Cup this evening. The first game sees Man City v Spurs, and again ,as with all Carling Cup games, AND given the time of the year and possible congestion , we must look at the team news before committing to any bet. I would suspect Man City will be playing a weakened side, but what of Spurs?
I certainly see the opportunity for goals here if weakened sides are chosen ,where another over 2.5 goal trade would be the call rather than the straight backing of either team

Arsenal play Blackburn Rovers in the second game, and we can confidently expect Arsene Wenger to field a " weakened" side - a side which usually impresses greatly when given the opportunity to play. I could actually see Arsenal prevailing here and the more cautious may like to lay Blackburn to cover the draw - current lay odds of 2.88

Dumbarton v East Stirling should be a goal fest judging by head to heads and recent perfomances so we only have the choice on Betfair of 2.5 goals and no trading as this game is not in running. The possiblity of goals is manufactured into the price - 1.61 currently for over 2.5 goals - this should give us a good run for our money
