1/12

George Bernard Shaw placed for each way backers, but the price was backed in to 5/2!Kevkat won and Jonny Murtagh looks a jockey to follow in Ireland when he's on favs or market ledaers - the cream rises to the top!. Musango won, as did Demisemiquaver. The only blot, Strobe, came is a race where the market leader was a non runner and Los Nadis was punted into favouritism - again I can't legislate for late withdrawals and Spirit of the tiger came2nd for each way backers making for an excellent day - more of the same today please.
When I get it right, I get it right!

One factor to watch out for today I think with be the weather and its affect throughout the day on ground conditions making for a day when we should tip toe carefiully

1255 FAIRYHOUSE
BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Catch Me, 4/1 Big Zeb, 7/1 Holly Tree, 8/1 Derravarra Eagle, 10/1 Jog On, 12/1 Capo Di Capi, Cosmo King, 14/1 Fraudster, 16/1 Gardikos, 20/1 Meritorious, Sole Bonne Femme, 33/1 Island Arrow .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: CATCH ME is difficult to oppose having his first start over hurdles since falling when in contention at Punchestown last year and can provide trainer Edward O'Grady with his third win in six years in this winners' race.

"difficult to oppose" stands out in the commentary - a note must be made that ground is yielding to soft, with showers expected today so for those who want to remain extra disciplined, then DO NOT bet in yielding, or soft ground.

335 FAIRYHOUSE
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Minella Theatre, 7/2 Direct Exit, 4/1 Goldmar, 6/1 Morgansaccord, 8/1 Border Graduate, 10/1 Julia´s Girl, 33/1 Firecatcher, Rayfield Lad.

Direct Exit looks good for a place only bet here rather than each way ( price is not really primed for each way betting

Kempton - no ground concerns and be aware that those drawn in stall 1 will have problems winning in distances up to 1 mile with 8 or so runners
215 KEMPTON
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Fajr, 2/1 Orchard Supreme, 4/1 Blue Rocket, 7/1 Baharah, 14/1 Murfreesboro.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This could be a muddling affair and BLUE ROCKET, who got back on the winning trail at Dundalk last time, may be best equipped to come out on top over Fajr and Orchard Supreme who would appreciate an end-to-end gallop over this trip.[

With the 2 market leaders at 2/1, we can take a chance and back both to level stakes

355 KEMPTON
BETTING FORECAST: 7/2 Risque Heights, 4/1 Pinch Of Salt, 9/2 Speedy Sam, 11/2 Awatuki, 6/1 Stargazer Jim, 8/1 William´s Way, 10/1 Bid For Glory, 12/1 Cold Turkey, 66/1 Eumene.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This surface has been the making of Pinch of Salt, but this mark demands more again and preference is for SPEEDY SAM (nap) who has proved himself capable of running well in very competitive affairs on turf and sand and is taking an ease in grade here

Cold Turkey a non runner leaves 8 runners - Eumene is the only real outsider. I will chance Awatuki each way

Soft ground at NEwbury
205 NEWBURY
BETTING FORECAST: 2/1 Inglis Drever, 7/2 Black Jack Ketchum, 11/2 Special Envoy, 6/1 Kasbah Bliss, 7/1 Chief Dan George, 8/1 Blazing Bailey, 25/1 Oscar Park, 40/1 Crystal D´Ainay.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Inglis Drever sets the standard, while Blazing Bailey and Black Jack Ketchum are not far behind but they are not without their question marks and SPECIAL ENVOY, who was so unlucky in a top handicap last week, might just catch them cold in receipt of weight

A top quality field - straight 8 runners - 2 outsiders - ideal for each ways - Black Jack Ketchum each way
1240 NEWCASTLE
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 All For The Cause, 9/4 Berwick Law, 4/1 Brook No Argument, 10/1 Its Teescomponents, 16/1 Salsero, 20/1 Amble Forge, 28/1 Special Flight, 33/1 Merigo, 40/1 Sting.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A clutch of quite interesting recruits from bumpers, three of which have already run with varying degrees of distinction in their sole run over hurdles. The second of ALL FOR THE CAUSE in a Carlisle novice hurdle sets the standard and he looks the way to go.

Brook no argument each way
