14/12

The late abandonment of Huntingdon did nothing for strike rate as 2 of the bets didn't run. Welsh Main was crap and I was umming and ahhing and was swayed by the presence of McCoy despite the bad form - lesson learned. Mole CHamber unplaced, and guess who won again - fecking Confi"fecking"dentiality! I tell you the loss will come, but again, 4/9 suggested I was a bit premature.

A poor week for racing with ground conditions really making things impossible to predict, particularly as ground deteriorates during the day.
I'm looking at the cards as I await my flight - its 650am so I won't know about any abandonments or real ground conditions
CHELTENHAM
A high class card with predicted good ground
155 - a specialist distance and cross country course and Heads on the ground, a course and distance winner and betting forecast fav, may be worthy of each way support. No spot the difference this time alas!

BETTING FORECAST: 11/10 Ring The Boss, 5/1 Jack The Giant, 6/1 Roman Villa, 10/1 Sir Monty, 12/1 Bremen, 14/1 Stellenbosch, 20/1 Lindop, Mister Benedictine, Tagula Blue, 25/1 Odiham, 33/1 Wheelavit .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Ring The Boss is no certainty despite being ahead of the handicapper as this ground will be quicker than what he's been encountering of late and there will be no soft lead up front. JACK THE GIANT, who has undergone a wind operation since last season and been ready to run for a while (missed an engagement at beginning of month due to soft ground), looks the one to take him on with.[AWJ]
An interesting market - 5 over 20/1 in a good quality race - the favourite odds on early market opeing things up for each way backers. Roman Villa each way for me

DONCASTER
Precautionary inspection means I have to tread carefully
An unappealing card all the same with big fields

BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Three Boars, 8/1 Blue Hedges, Maria Antonia, Sand Repeal, 12/1 Ronsard, 14/1 Hugs ´n Kisses, 20/1 Isa´Af, 33/1 Sorbiesharry .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: THREE BOARS (nap), an easy winner here 72 hours ago, will be very difficult to beat despite the 6lb penalty. Maria Antonia could be the one for the forecast.[AM]
" will be very difficult to beat" - enough for me really to consider backing as long as the price is not ridiculously short
730 WOLVES
BETTING FORECAST: 11/4 Tanforan, 9/2 Four Tel, 6/1 Tyrannosaurus Rex, 13/2 Royal Embrace, 9/1 Northern Desert, 12/1 Fine Ruler, Lincolneurocruiser, Pianoforte, 16/1 Tancredi, 20/1 Ginger Princess, 33/1 Shafrons Canyon, 50/1 Sharp Liquor .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: TANFORAN (nap) ran creditably here last week and, with an inside stall again and a likely strong pace to chase, he can go one better in what looks a weaker race. Lincolneurocruiser is coming to the boil nicely but he has been dealt a poor hand again with the draw and will likely have to wait for another day. [GN]

Tanforan each way here is a recent runner who has placed regularly and could place, if not win this evening -worthy of each way support in a race wherer we can discount 4 horses leaving 8 - and 5 for Tanforan to beat to place only and return stakes

855 .BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Moment Of Clarity, 6/1 Alfie Tupper, 13/2 Lilac Moon, 7/1 Kirstys Lad, 8/1 Moonlight Fantasy, 10/1 Casablanca Minx, 12/1 Camolin, 14/1 Swiper Hill, 16/1 Bijou Dan, 20/1 Norwegian, 33/1 Chasing Memories, Scott Summerland, Sonic Anthem .

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Moment Of Clarity will be a tough nut to crack off the same mark as when successful here last week but this bigger field containing more in-form rivals will demand more of his young rider and the combination may be worth taking on with ALFIE TUPPER who was knocking at the door from too far back for his previous yard and could be an improver for his new trainer.[GN]

Again look at thep[ositive words from Spotlight " tough nut to crack" - hopefully the price will allow each way betting.
