27/8

A bit too cautious yesterday with the horses despite both placing with ease. Silkeborg won 2-0 and I also personally got involved in the Spuds afte reading the team sheet at www.sportinglife.com - it was good reading! And they battered Donny as a team full of confidence should do.
I got 1.21 for Silkeborg which was very welcome indeed given the best odds I could have got when writing the blog was 1.16 - so paid a bit more than the bookie. All of the Danish shorties obliged yesterday and it is a thought at least with all EARLY ROUND CUP GAMES in whichever country they may be, that the shorties oblige - perhaps an accumulator bet in future?

On to today and already there's some juicy bets this evening on the football (agaiN!!) for the one a day with Roma standing out v Kosice ( they were 3-1 up in the away leg and managed somehow to end up dawing 3-3) This proves that they can score against Kosice and it also shows the possibility for us trading . 1.15 at present tells you that home advantage really should ensure Roma put this tie to bed. Goals look a good call too? 3-3 so Roma of course have the away goals and need to not mess around and quickly finish any hope Kosice have this evening

250 LINGFIELD
BETTING FORECAST: 11/4 Hawk´s Eye, 5/1 Navajo Nation, 13/2 Swift Chap, 7/1 Inis Boffin, Wilbury Star, 10/1 Squad, 12/1 Red Reef, 14/1 Pyrus Time, 16/1 Arashi, 20/1 Noble Dictator, Officer In Command, 25/1 Naheell.

DIOMED VERDICT: HAWK'S EYE (nap) looks a shrewd recruit for this yard after winning so well at Windsor and he can follow up under a penalty.

Now 6/4 for the Mike De Kock yard ,and 2nd fav out - a potential chance for victory ( and with it a place?) 1.36 to place

310 AYR
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Electric City, 4/1 Happy Dubai, 7/1 Hold On Tiger, 8/1 Fantastic Strike, 10/1 Hot Spark, 20/1 Goodison Goal, Kai Broon, Kristen Jane, 25/1 Fourlanends, Pavement Games, 33/1 Lilyannabanana, Sumay Buoy, 40/1 Shegarrdi.

DIOMED VERDICT: ELECTRIC CITY's 66-1 third in a Newmarket maiden last time gives her very strong claims at these advantageous weights in this weaker race, though a note of caution is advised on account of this ground being altogether different.

Soft ground here is the concern - as is the fact this is a maiden. Only 4 under 25/1 indicate potential deadwood and I am a little wary as to why Electric City was priced up at 66/1 originally - a flash in the pan that run? 1.28 to place

350 LING
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Rakaan, 5/2 Adele Blanc Sec, 8/1 Almadaa, 10/1 One Good Emperor, 12/1 Blushing, Flotate, 16/1 Calm Storm, 20/1 Foxtrot Delta, 25/1 Kildangan Girl, 33/1 Cat Hunter, 50/1 Casanova Kid, 100/1 R Woody.

DIOMED VERDICT: Rakaan is proving disappointing and ALMADAA looks a viable each-way alternative.

The market tells us 3 are under 14/1 - perhaps the ones to concentrate on - all characterised by their relative experience in maiden company. Adele is " all red" at 6/4 but has only had the one run - although Diomed sees Rakaan as disappointing the only blot to the horse's placed form came in class 1 company - this is class 6 indicating connections want a 1 in the form book quickly!1.26 and 1.29 the front 2 - I would opt for Rakaan's experience

410 AYR
BETTING FORECAST: 4/1 Hettie Hubble, 9/2 Future Gem, 6/1 Miss Pusey Street, Nimmy´s Special, 13/2 Pokfulham, 9/1 Calypso Girl, Duke Of Urbino, Kings Ace, 10/1 Nchike, 20/1 Fitzolini, 25/1 Fifth Amendment, 33/1 Madame Jourdain.

DIOMED VERDICT: In the hope that Monday's good run over 1m in heavy ground hasn't taken the edge off her, HETTIE HUBBLE is taken to make the most of a 5lb lower mark here. The return to 6f can help too.

Mention must be made of Pokfulam. now 9/4 in places and all red, albeit in a competitive handicap 1.63 to place

515 BELLEWSTOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 2/7 Lucky Wish, 5/2 Fairwood Bob, 20/1 Holy Road, 25/1 Barndeh, 33/1 Chasing Clouds, 50/1 Mister Castlefield, 100/1 Spot Hill.

Only 2 under 20/1 and heavy ground the concern but could this help the place only price? - Barry Geraghty a man you can trust
A very obvious choice of course based solely on the price ILLIQUID MARKET

FOOTBALL
I know this blog was originally place only betting, but it seems the footy is taking precedence - the reason? The focus is more on ONE A DAY - which means the best bet of the day rather than having to chose a place only selections on the horse racing

Aktobe v Werder Bremen is the first match of interest - 3-6 from the first round means 3 away goals for Aktobe so Werder not wholly safe. Looks another goalfest surely this evening? 1.43 for over 2.5 goals says it all , BUT this is NOT IN RUNNING

1.1 for Fulham to qualify looks standout with a 3-1 home win ( yes they have an away goal but all it takes tonight is a Fulham goal to leave Amkar with a mountain to climb. ) I like Fulham under Woy and expect a professional performance tonight - prices are considerably bigger I suppose given the proximity of the weekend.

CFR CLuj are 2/5 in places and have an away goal and home advantage tonight - priced to win

Fenerbahce take a 2-0 away goals lead home against Sion but the question is, will they be like Lyon and seek to kill the tie, or will they be like Stuttgart and go for a 0-0?

German ladies are 1.31 to beat the French dames today and, as we saw with Sweden, these short odds are generally accurate. A tradeable game perhaps with rading out after Germany score fist (hopefully)

Hamburg 5-1 awway goals lead exactly the same as Lyon -priced to win tonight but is there any incentive to perform?

Lille 1.4 to win - gulf in class between French and Belgian teams apparent last night with Lyon's stroll against Anderlecht

PSV take a 1-0 lead back to Holland and are 1.26 to seal things tonight - 1-0 is precarious and they are priced to nail this tie -NOT IN RUNNING

Roma are 1.14 - mentioned at blog start - should get the job done tonight having been 3-1 up at one stage last time. 3-3 means Kosice are still in this so expect a professional job tonight

Valencia at 1.27 (NOT in running) should have too much for Staebeck from a vasstly inferior league

ONE A DAY
Incentivised to get something out of tonight, Roma look good at 1.14 as the safest bet of the evening - already proven at 3-1 up against opposition, only to collapse under complacency(?) they should do the business tonight.
THere are many many opportunities tonight and Aktobe v Werder Bremen looks very enticing -the 1.57 Werder Win is tempting BUT THIS IS NOT IN RUNNING
Good luck with yoour choices. As tis is ONE A DAY, it is Roma for me
