8th Nov

Well the jumps bite you on the arse with another faller in Bootntoot who was priced to be competitive yet managed to crash early doors. Driving Miss Suzie was a good 2nd at 15/2 and Loose Caboose was unplaced - in hindsight I got distracted by Seb Sanders being on board when i should have looked at the race as being wholly unsuitable
120 HUNTINGDON
BETTING FORECAST: 4/9 Sir Haydn, 9/2 Selkirk Grace, 8/1 Colton, 16/1 Dante´s Diamond, Heez Kool, 20/1 Double Magnum, 40/1 Favouring.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: SIR HADYN was second to a decent previous winner when returned to hurdles in a C&D novice last month and, in a weaker race here, should be very hard to beat. Selkirk Grace has been running well enough on the Flat to suggest that he can be next best, if coping with the different demands of hurdling. [MCu]
Sir HAydn is 8/13 morning prices but there's those words "should be very hard to beat" Again though it's a maiden hurdle but on our side is the small field so worth a shot
315 THURLES
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Galistic, 7/2 Whispering Wind, 7/1 Sutherland Belle, 10/1 Good Thyne Diva, Miss Aurelia, 12/1 Fleminara, Leanne, Present Venture, 14/1 Amaryllis, Lilly Lavender, Splendid Susie, 16/1 Borleagh Princess, Cat On The Luas, 20/1 Eloquent Dream, Getyourfingerout, Miracle Card, Shandarnay, 25/1 Bridies First, Face The Sun,
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: GALISTIC is a high-class recruit from the Flat and will be hard to beat with a fluent round of jumping. The daughter of Galileo started from a low base when winning three successive handicaps last season and improved again this year, showing good reserves of stamina when beating Reform Act in a 1m6f Listed event at Leopardstown in July. She went on to finish sixth of nine behind Yeats in the Irish St Leger and should be in good shape for this having finished fifth to Ezima in a 1m4f Listed race at Leopardstwon less than three weeks ago.
Another "will be hard to beat" in another big field maiden hurdle, with Whispering Wind in close attendance in the market.
2 maiden hurdle shorties so far and not really ideal
340 TOWCESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 8/11 Bermuda Pointe, 6/1 Ammunition, 15/2 Secret Glen, 10/1 Gemini Storm, Persian Native, 14/1 Looks The Business, 16/1 Tiger Tips Lad, 20/1 Razzamatazz, 50/1 Thyne Spirit.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The penalised BERMUDA POINTE is 12lb higher than for his recent win here with Paddy Brennan taking over from the stable's claimer, but he's due to go up 9lb in future engagements anyway and the manner of his victory suggests he should be able to cope. Ammunition is a respected rival.[AWJ]
"should be able to cope......12lb higher"
I'm going to take a chance on GAlistic today as the only shortie
EACH WAY
100 MUSSELBURGH
BETTING FORECAST: 7/4 Rigat, 2/1 Living On A Prayer, 3/1 Desert Hawk, 12/1 Grafty Green, 16/1 Royal Sailor, 25/1 Wroot Danielle, 50/1 Lazzoom, Stravonian.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: LIVING ON A PRAYER ran well enough here in August to think she could win a similar event. She is 4lb lower this time and can prove too strong for Rigat.[PSm]
Desert HAwk each way should palce
200 MUSSELBURGH
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Pieter Brueghel, 3/1 Rebel Duke, 5/1 Monashee Brave, 10/1 Ashes, Valiant Romeo, 16/1 African Storm, 33/1 Alexia Rose, 50/1 Noddledoddle, The Brat, Ulysees, 100/1 Scottish Spirit.
SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This is the easiest assignment that Monashee Brave has faced to date but it took him a while to get going at Nottingham last time and this sharp track may not be ideal. Rebel Duke is feared on his first start for a new stable, but PIETER BRUEGHEL (nap) retains plenty of ability and can provide Jamie Spencer with a welcome winner.[PSm]
Monashee BRave each way - 6 horses priced 16/1 and higher should reduce the number of threats for him to place at least
Ammunition each way
