A good day on the backing side yesterday with another big priced place horse. This backing is really the area I should be concentrating on for the time being I think.
ALl of the market leaders in the competitive ( or so it seemed) races came in which was unexpected, although saying that I did mention 2 were napped by the Racing Post which wasn't a good sign!
EACH WAY BETTING
535 CATTERICK - BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Love Brothers, Rudry World, 6/1 Sporting Gesture, 7/1 Granary Girl, 9/1 Shandelight, 10/1 Acuzio, Court Of Appeal, Global Traffic, 20/1 Collette´s Choice, 25/1 Hugs Destiny. this looks an open race, with the added bonus of being an apprentice ridden affair. Sporting Traffic is my first pick - just outside the market leaders, with Global Traffic my 2nd each way pick, being just before the outsiders.
815 CATTERICK - this really should involve the first 2 in the market, but a highly speculative each way punt on Resaass purely because there isa hint that his price has shortened, although he still remains 20/1. Not ideal for each way punting with 2 the place, but in these maidens , with the possible threat of rain, one of the market leaders might underperform
410 DONCASTER - BETTING FORECAST: 5/2 Broomielaw, 9/2 Bright Mind, Bukit Tinggi, 5/1 Sonning Star, 6/1 Alpes Maritimes, 8/1 Inchlaggan, 16/1 Mounafes, 20/1 Theta, 25/1 Penang, 100/1 Papa´s Princess, Ranavalona. PROGRESSIVE STAKING AND PALCE ONLY BETS
GReat performance yesterda - 2 out of 2, and odds of 4/6 not too restrictive. This keeps the progressive staking run looking very healthy indeed. I hope it continues
I hope you've seen it's really not that difficult selecting the most obvious candidates on a daily basis - there have been some standouts this past week, like United NAtions whose price gap just screamed out his chance of victory

My concern is the proximity of a number of runners quoted 9/2 - 6/1 - 4 horses. This makes Broomielaw a place only bet for me. Slight concern over 121 day absence too

Although a maiden with Timetable, a newcomer ,at 11/4 in the live market as I write, I will chance Nezami as a progressive staking bet, and ,by default, a place only bet
The hope here is Nezami's closeness to a superior horse can be read literally - my concern with putting this one up as a progressive staking bet is the profile is not as "obvious" as United Nations was -the price gap isnt there

730 NEWMARKET - BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Familiar Territory, 5/2 Camrose, 7/2 Before You Go, 500/1 Little Darlin, Royal Sailor. -Familair territory an obvious palce only candidate one of the outsiders is a non runner but the betfair place only market will still pay out for 2 places - again odds which will not catapult anyone to multi millionaire status overnight!




A poor day with some non runners scuppering proceedings. Although confidence is waining with my competitive betting forecast brainwave, I will monitor in the interim, along with biggest field of the day selections who, guess what, have consented to win. Cue a new backing system? Worth jotting them down here to see!
