DAY 2

Not a bad day yesterday - those reading would have profitted from the Sunderland lay becuase I did mention it was a good trade and this is how you should approach these bets - there's no need to stay in for 90 minutes anymore when you can lock in profit. Liverpool won which was great for the lay of Aston Villa, and Bolton Newcastle was never going to be unders! Oh the joys of the first day.

A couple of winners yesterday in Judd Street at 8/1 and Star of light at 5/2, along with Jibajaba at 2/5 and Raccoon placed 2nd. Only one place for the evening bet Rainbow Fox 3rd in a tricky card at Ayr and Lingfield.

I would always look to stop for the day if bagging an each way priced winner. The bets are speculative ain order to get some decent prices so if one comes in early doors, take it and preserve profit.

Laying the 1st betting forecast fav of the day came up trumps with Coasting. Yes, a 2 year old nursery and another fav bites the dust.

The biggest field of the day selection Fifty came 2nd which was all I could have hoped for

On to today, and some interesting runners in Ireland.

What I'll do today is to put the bets into categories out of interest - place only bets, bets for progressive staking, each way bets, twin progressive cycle bets, one a day lay bets, biggest fild lay bets, 1st betting forecast lay bets. It would be good to see if I can hit the mark from a progressive staking perspective with selections. It is so difficult slecting horses without the confirmation of the live betting market.

So here goes, wish me luck....

PLACE ONLY BETS

245 Curragh - Eagle Mountain - Fallon and O'Brien team up with the fav here, who should be competitive in such a small field.

345 Curragh - HEnrythenavigator - same partnership and a likely winner here

515 Curragh - Listen - winner last time out for Ballydoyle should be in the mix come the end of the race

320 Deauville - MAnduro - likely to be skinny odds but looks nailed on for a place in this 6 runner field. The fact it's 2 the place should bump the odds up slightly

325 Downpatrick - Mr Muffin Man - Ruby on board , well fancied, should at least place

The purpose of these bets is to try and secure a high strike rate system, regardless of price. By the way talking of price, a return on one of these placing will outstrip anything any fund manager or bank savings account will provide. A big enough strike rate can really ensure long term profits in a very straightforward way. YEsterday for example, Raccoon and Jibajaba placed. Coastal was an if and but becuase if was a lay and a back yesterday!

Have you heard of the MAthematical formula and the Diabolical staking Plan? THis is for use with place only betting and tries to sure huge returns with modest priced but highly fancied selections. For this system ,perhaps just Henrythenavigator for the place only would be good. Email me at whatreallywins@yahoo.co.uk for more info if this interests you

PROGRESSIVE STAKING
THe loss retrieval method of staking as adocated by smart bet wizard, 5startipster and cashmaster amongst others. The idea is to look to win a target profit per race and , if your selection loses, add losses , previous target profit, and new target profit onto the amount you want to win this time.
A high strike rate is required of course.
225 Downpatrick - Lace your boots
300 Wolves - MR Grand Lodge
345 Curragh - HEnrythenavigator
400 Wolves - Cosmic Art
515 Curragh - Listen
Let's see how this little experiment goes!
EACH WAY BETTING
210 Redcar - Carnival dream and Coachhouselady each way - maiden fillies - worth hoping the unpredictability of fillies is played out here!
225 Downpatrick - Coronary Star and Mr Prince each way - 6th and 7th named in the betting forecast may be capable of being competitive over 2 mile 6
225 Curragh - a big field and a 2 year old maiden. I'll chance a couple of big prices in Belcare and IT's a swing, based on nothing more than their placings in the betting forecast and the predicted unpredictability of big field maiden races!
250 Leicester - Strategic mover and PArliamentary each way against the 2 market principles
325 Downpatrick - Salford City - each way bet to nothing? - should place and exploit any problems with the fav
330 Wolves - Take the gold and Crescentia each way in another maiden fillies race
445 Curragh - Richelau and Roudofapplause each way - again big prices and the hope of an open affair
With these each way bets, as you can see they are speculative and based really on horses's positioning in the betting forecast and no form analysis, so I would bail out if lucky to hit a winner early on
TWIN PROGRESSIVE CYCLES
The idea here is that we back the most likeliest winners in perceived 2 horse races and put one in one progressive cycle and the 2nd in another. The idea is that at least one of the cycles will close.
245 Curragh - Eagle Mountain and Championship Point
345 Curragh - HEnrythenavigator and Eleetelle
250 Leicester - Hawaana and Dr Freemantle
LAYS
Biggest field of the day - 215 Curragh - Lucies PRide - 23 runners
220 Leicester - Finsbury - 18 runners.
Strict selection would be Finsbury but we'll keep an eye on the Irish - see ho w they get on
MY OWN
415 Curragh - Evening Time - a potential 3 horse race - let's hope the opponents are good enoughto get infront
445 Curragh - Dafaroun - 18 runner handicap 5/1 the field - not nailed on but a difficult race to find the winner in. The profile here is of a good lay trade to be monitored in running and backed at a higher price to get liabilities back ad create a green screen
355 Downpatrick - Axinit - looks, from the betting forecast, plenty competitive enough
350 Leicester - Snowed under - a tight handicap
450 LEicester -GReat view - 5/1, 3/1, 3/1 and 5/1 the first 4 in the market promises a competitive race and the hope is that we have 3 running for us who are closely matched and need just one to get infron t of the lay
340 Redcar - Valley of the Moon - very tight pricewise
430 Wolves - Contentious - 2 time winner on the bounce - 5 fuirlong race - I think there are 2, Silly gilly being one of them, who could trouble the short priced fav

These are all based on betting forecast placings - let's see how they get on. Not an ideal way to lay because there has been no form analyssi - I hope I have picked competitive enough races

Don't forget the betting forecast fav in the 1st race of the day today - it was Cxoasting yesterday

FOOTBALL
SIMPLEX
1 win out of all the matches played yesterday - we have a few m,atches today . Stakes to be doubled now for week 2 fixtures
A Chelsea win t0 nil is my play today I think. this can involve laying the 1-0 Brimingham score line or trying to find a bookie who does to nil bets - perhaps the Asian markets?
