7/3

Good performance from all place only shortlisters yesterday, the last one in the maiden came 2nd, beaten by ....yes you guessed it, Simonside - 20/1 in the betting forecast going off 15/2 and winning - another 16/1 system bet!
Good stuff from the market movers yesterday too - a few winners but some outside the 5/1 price cap
205 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 5/1 Quartz De Thaix, 11/2 Big Eared Fran, 6/1 Bakbenscher, 8/1 Burton Port, 17/2 Clay Hollister, 10/1 Keki Buku, Time For Rupert, 11/1 Edgbriar, 12/1 Busker Royal, Summery Justice, 16/1 Circus Of Dreams, What A Buzz, 20/1 Finney, Song Sung Blue, Tullamore Dew, 33/1 Any Currency, Quazy De Joie, 40/1 Martys Mission.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: QUARTZ DE THAIX may well be the answer, looking to be on a decent mark on his Taunton defeat of two decent previous winners on his British debut and with the likelihood of some improvement on just his fourth start over hurdles today. Burton Port heads the list of alternatives, ahead of Bakbenscher.[MCu]

Keki Buru 6/1
215 AYR
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Scolboa Music Man, 6/4 Oh So Humbel, 4/1 Mighty Massini, 20/1 Tommy Tobougg.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Oh So Humbel will presumably set out to make it a good test once more and that could suit SCOLBOA MUSIC MAN, who appeared to doss when he got to the front in winning over 2m4f here last month. There is little between them on official BHA figures.[PJ]

Oh So Humbel has leapfrogged into favouratism and odds on.
Soft ground at Ayr

235 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 5/2 Fresh Air And Fun, 7/2 Zacharova, 9/2 Mister Quasimodo, 5/1 Stagecoach Opal, 13/2 Antonius Caesar, 17/2 Stolen Moments, 12/1 Trigger The Light.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A tight little handicap in which most of the runners make some sort of appeal. FRESH AIR AND FUN could be the one, having made a good start to his chase career in his first two tries, notably when second to Zacharova in a C&D handicap last time. Fresh Air And Fun is effectively 12lb better off this time and can reverse the form, while Tony McCoy is sure to be aware that there are other possible pacesetters in the field, so it is unlikely the partnership will become involved in a draining fight for the lead. Antonius Caesar may be next best.[MCu]

Trigger the light 8/1

300 CHEPSTOW
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Bundle Up, Leprechaun´s Gold, 11/2 Monsieur Georges, 10/1 Beshairt, Little Rort, 12/1 Ruling Reef, 14/1 Waltham Abbey, 16/1 Lazy But Lively, 20/1 Colditz, 25/1 Decree Nisi, Manolo, Olivino, Ostinata, Speedy Directa, 33/1 Hero Again, Pardon What, Sir Pandy, 66/1 Where´s Trigger.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The best options are all towards the very foot of the handicap and on this ground preference is for MONSIEUR GEORGES.[AWJ]

Waltham Abbey 6/1 at the moment, Sir Pandy 10/1 , Decree Nisi 16/1 in places

320 AYR
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Kempski, 11/4 Echo Point, 7/2 Young Albert, 5/1 Manadam, 6/1 Monolith.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Mud-loving front runner KEMPSKI is 12lb higher than when winning this 12 months ago but he is now unbeaten in four 2m4f handicap hurdles here after his January success and, back at his best trip, he may be capable of defying the assessor once more. Hard-pulling Young Albert is a trifle frustrating but certainly has the raw ability to win a race like this if he settles, while Manadam may benefit from the absence of the visor.[PJ]

Young Alkbert now 7/4 fav in a tight market

420 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Song Of Songs, 15/8 Deep Purple, 2/1 Restless D´Artaix, 66/1 Kinkeel.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: With a doubt about the ground for Restless d'Artaix, this may be between SONG OF SONGS and form pick Deep Purple. The latter would take a deal of catching if at his best but he was very disappointing last time so preference is for Song Of Songs, who won in most taking style at Leicester last time, albeit at odds of 30-100.[MCu]

In a day of very few place only opps for me, this has a glimmer of hope with a 100/1 outsider meaning any of the 3 remaining must just beat 1 to place

515 WOLVES
BETTING FORECAST: 6/4 Capeability, 9/2 Hypnotist, 7/1 Gifted Leader, 10/1 Garter Knight, If You Knew Suzy, Smooth Sovereign, 14/1 Location, 16/1 Satwa Gold, 20/1 Baligha, 33/1 Gozome, Holoko Heights, Morning Sir Alan, 50/1 Elevate Bobbob.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Likely Hypnotist is capable of a good deal better than he showed on his only start last year and he could be the main rival to fellow Derby entry CAPEABILITY who went close on his return at Lingfield last month.[

3 non runners and an odds on price gapper BUT in a maiden.
Baligha 9/1 in places BUT is this a reaction to the non runners?
Neck 2nd last time out is encouraging

545 WOLVES
BETTING FORECAST: Evs Eighteenfifty, 5/1 Salute, 6/1 City Stable, 7/1 Horseshoe Reef, 8/1 Wind Flow, 10/1 Pass The Port, 16/1 Veiled Applause.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Although EIGHTEENFIFTY needs to take a step forward on the form he showed when winning his maiden here last month, the step up in trip will definitely suit this bumper winner and he should have plenty more to offer on a surface on which his dam's progeny have done well. Horseshoe Reef and Salute can follow him home

PRice gapper in a handicap - Frankie Spencer on board BUT only 2 the place

SHORTLIST
Well, there isn't one really. Looks like all the good opportunities are waiting at CHeltenham next week
420 SANDOWN - 3 vying for 2 places but which one of the 3 will falter and which 2 will place. We can go with probability that we have a 2 in 3 chance of succcess and opt for the market leader at the off
SONG of songs - 1.31 to place
Deep Purple 1.4 to place
Restless Dartaix 1.94 to place

1.31 is certainly enticing for the current market leader but if taking this bet on, you must be prepared for a loss as this is not as rock solid as I would like. AP McCoy could swing my decision for me as he is on Song of Songs

515 WOLVES and CApability was a neck 2nd last time out and is 1.21. Another maiden race and a potential market mover too in debutant Baligha. Coincidence that a debutant is a potential 16/1 system bet? Odds on now and 6/1 the 2nd fav is encouraging
There are alternatives in the football today.
Go to www.ladbrokes.com and look at all short priced home teams. Use www.soccerstats.com to check the teams

My instinct tells me that there will be better days ahead for better opportunities and any decisions I make will include trading in running today. The above 2 mentioned are the only opportunties today for me, albeit with a lack of confidence. Watch out as the day unfolds because there may be late non runners in certain races which could present a good place only opportuntiy
THe Cheltenham Festival will provide plentiful and more clearcut opportunities next week

6/3

Jaunty Flight scraped through by 23 lengths, and the other selection managed a 2nd in a 3 horse race, because the outsider refused at the 2nd last!
happy days
200 WIN
BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Ellen Tilley, 7/2 Far From Blonde, 8/1 Blazing Diva, Rith Bob, 20/1 Bright Quest, Duly Noted, 66/1 Marias Rock.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The market will demonstrate the confidence behind the Ditcheat newcomer Far From Blonde but ELLEN TILLEY (nap) sets a very decent standard and can make her experience tell.[PJ]

Rith Bob the mover

210 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Marchand D´Argent, 11/2 Bugsy´s Boy, 7/1 Bonchester Bridge, 8/1 Figurita, 10/1 Danse Macabre, 14/1 Lester Leaps In, Rookery Rebel, 33/1 Quasimodo, 66/1 Love Angel.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: It is difficult to get away from much-improved MARCHAND D'ARGENT (nap) who has plenty in hand according to the official handicapper. Danse Macabre can get in the money.[FC]

Price gapper but in an amateur riders event, and generally it has been wise to avoid these amateurs 1.16 to place

230 LEICESTER
BETTING FORECAST: 1/10 Oscatello, 8/1 Irish Guard, 16/1 Irish Power, 33/1 Johnny Harris, 66/1 Stunning Magic.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: OSCATELLO is unlikely to draw breath in brushing these aside and it's the fences he needs to worry about.[AWJ] 1.14 to win and 1.08 to place

Hmmm!

245 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 5/2 Busy Isit, 11/4 Keepthedreamalive, 11/2 Randwick Roar, 7/1 Moncadou, Thedreamstillalive, 14/1 Borora, Chery D´Or, 20/1 Black Hills.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A case can be made for most of these if you go back far enough in the form book, but recent evidence points to KEEPTHEDREAMALIVE and Busy Isit.[FC]

Chey Dor now 4/1 and Borora 7/1 BUT one non runner at 7/1 may have made the betting forecast less accurate

255 AYR
BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Mat Hill, 3/1 Minster Abbi, 13/2 Beau Saddler, 10/1 Saddler´s Way, 16/1 Noble Hill.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: MAT HILL, a heavy-ground winner on the Irish point-to-point circuit, has shown enough in just a couple of outings under Rules to suggest he can take a weak race dropped in grade.[SB]

2nd fav a non runner and a fav proven on heavy. As seen yesterday, it's fine when they are actually proven on heavy, otherwise the race becomes too unpredictable 1.24 to place

310 WIN
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Quiny Boy, 11/4 Compton Star, 4/1 The Composer, 8/1 Seconditis, 12/1 Bukhara, 14/1 New Rackheath, Prince Ducal, 16/1 Hiddensee.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Quiny Boy could be the one in this weak race if the visor shows him in a better light but COMPTON STAR can usually be relied upon to run well over hurdles here and is 2lb lower than when successful over this C&D last season.[PJ]

New Rackheath 8/1

320 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Bannister Lane, 100/30 Oakfield Legend, 7/2 Bolachoir, Jamadiel, 10/1 Wickford, 14/1 Mr Big, 25/1 You´re Special, 33/1 Craven.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Oakfield Legend will ensure Bannister Lane does not have an easy time up front and could prove difficult to catch, but the race may be set up for a hold-up horse and BOLACHOIR looks capable of a bold bid to repeat last year's victory if he is in anything like the same form after his break.[FC]

Mr Big 7/1

330 AYR
BETTING FORECAST: 11/4 Agglestone Rock, 11/2 Giant Star, High Stand Lad, 6/1 A Rare Diamond, Breakwater House, 8/1 Lugato, 10/1 Chief Scout, 12/1 Hurricane Jack, 16/1 Quatro Pierji, 25/1 Solis.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Agglestone Rock has to be respected turned out before his new mark takes effect but a reasonable case can also be made for a few others, notably HIGH STAND LAD whose Newcastle race has worked out pretty well and gets the assistance of Graham Lee on his first outing for Martin Todhunter (has remained in same ownership).[SB]

Fav now 7/4 1.52 to place - again 1.5 and higher for a fancied fav is suspicious

340 LEIC
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Coolefind, Whistling Straits, 6/1 Strong Weld, 13/2 Anshan Spirit, 7/1 Rydal Park, 8/1 Young Collier, 14/1 Tighe Caster, 16/1 Denvale, Oaklands Luis, 33/1 Howard Howard.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Tighe Caster and Young Collier were decent on their day under rules and recent pointing evidence suggests they could make an impact in this sphere. However, this is a decent race and WHISTLING STRAITS, who blew it at the start at Warwick recently, is given another chance to fulfil the promise of last season. Coolefind and Strong Weld can also figure.[AWJ]

Too many movers really here
Rydal park now 3/1
Tigh Caster 9/1
Howard Howard 16/1

345 WINCANTON
BETTING FORECAST: 8/15 The Gossmoor Yank, 7/2 Rodney´s Pillar, 10/1 Local Present, 12/1 Secret Dancer, 16/1 Freddy´s Star, 25/1 Makin A Fuss, 50/1 Our No Fear, 100/1 El Ricardo, Mellifluous.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Unless the market predicts Rodney's Pillar is going to improve dramatically on his one bumper effort, THE GOSSMOOR YANK should be able to resume wunning ways.[PJ]

Fav spanked into 1/4 now - cold be the Nicholls/Walsh combination. 1.07 to place - I would prefer Oscatello at the same price in a smaller field

Only 2 horses now under 16/1

415 LEIC
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Gershwin, Midnight Diamond, Omme Antique, 6/1 Tempting Paradise, 8/1 Soprano, 14/1 Crystal Prince, Guns Of Love, 20/1 Peterfly.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This won't take much winning at all and a chance is taken on chasing debutant GERSHWIN, who was good enough to land a bumper and his limited time over hurdles wasn't devoid of promise by any means. Omme Antique was beaten too far for comfort at Hereford but may still provide the main threat.[AWJ]

Guns of love 11/2 in places

430 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 4/1 Kaldouas, 9/2 Get My Drift, Hot ´N´ Holy, 5/1 Autograph, The Big Breakfast, Van Ness, 16/1 Elenas River, 33/1 Cape Verde Sal.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Not an easy race to sum up with several of the runners showing signs that their best years are behind them. VAN NESS showed he was in decent form between the flags recently and may be good enough.[FC]

VAn Ness 5/2 in palces

450 LEIC
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Ballyvaden, 3/1 Donald Will Do, 8/1 Sea Cadet, 12/1 Junctiontwentyfour, Marked Man, 16/1 Lescer´s Lad, 20/1 Sir Brastias, 25/1 Carnt Spell, Jacarado, Kercabellec, King Coal, Nous Voila.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: The one that stands out is BALLYVADEN, who was very impressive when producing a demolition job over C&D last week and a reproduction ought to be enough to defy this penalty.[BDO]

King Coal now 14/1
Ballyvaden has been a previous place only selection
Donald will do was a market mover I recall last time out so maybe a compensation job today?

455 WINCANTON
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Amir El Jabal, 7/2 Alfatrix, Wasntme, 8/1 Pauntley Gofa, 25/1 Strategic Plan.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: It may be worth sticking with AMIR EL JABAL now the penny has dropped. Wasn'tme may pose most problems, unless Alfatrix leaves his latest form behind now over fences.[PJ]

Strategic Plan 12/1

505 SANDOWN
BETTING FORECAST: 5/4 Cracboumwiz, 7/2 Tanks For That, 9/2 Ravello Bay, 6/1 Wade Farm Billy, 8/1 Pearlysteps, 12/1 Mr Logistics, 100/1 Beware Chalk Pit, Junior Jimble.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: CRACBOUMWIZ has consistently produced a useful level as a hurdler for Alan King this winter and can give the weight to Ravello Bay.[BDO]

Choc n King oin the fav, 10/11 in places - the straight 8 runners so 3 the place and 2 horses at 100/1+ bring the realistic field down to 6 1.2 to place

525 LEIC
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Man From Highworth, Mcevoy, 7/2 All Star, 9/2 Petitjean, 8/1 The Local, 14/1 Grasp, Only Dreams, 33/1 Cadoulitique, Chockdee, Papillon De Iena, Wages, 66/1 The Sneakster, 100/1 Pagans Dancer.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: McEvoy and Petitjean should have the class to be competitive despite running over a distance well short of their best but ALL STAR could be too sharp, as he was showing a very useful level of form at about this trip not all that long ago and he wouldn't have stayed 3m in a point last time. Man From Highworth is the other interesting one.[AWJ]

Only Dreams 6/1 in places
Cadoulitique 16/1 in places

530 WIN
BETTING FORECAST: 9/4 Pennellis, 4/1 Nice One Eric, 8/1 Lomitaar, Melteme, 10/1 Chesil Beach Boy, Mayor Of Kilcock, Rocky Lane, 12/1 Tocca Ferro, 16/1 Merry Terry, 20/1 Just Cloudy, 25/1 Arctic Watch, Astral Boy, 33/1 Mixed Fortunes, 50/1 Imperial Falcon, 100/1 Russian Orphan.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Early evidence suggests PENNELLIS and Nice One Eric can both win at this level. Preference goes to the former who can build upon the solid platform of two positive efforts at Chepstow.[BDO]

Tocca Ferro 4/1 in places - significant?

720 WOLVES
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Common Diva, 4/1 Bromhead, 9/2 Supernoverre, 7/1 Flying Lady, 10/1 Dalrymple, Forty Thirty, 12/1 Hawkspring, Whotsit, 16/1 Autumn Morning, Turn To Dreams.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This looks a good opportunity for COMMON DIVA, a consistent sort and well in at the weights. Bromhead, one of the few open to improvement, is a likely threat, along with his Kempton conqueror Supernoverre.[AWJ]

Hawkspring 8/1 in places

750 WOLVES
BETTING FORECAST: 4/6 Mr Macattack, 6/1 Kipchak, 10/1 Romantic Verse, 12/1 Royal Challenge, Tri Chara, 16/1 Dancing Maite, Rubenstar, Sarwin, 25/1 Dhhamaan, Kabeer, 33/1 Albero Di Giuda, 50/1 Misterisland.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: An obvious opportunty for the unexposed MR MACATTACK to add to last week's emphatic C&D success in a 0-85 and make it 3-4 on this track.[AC]

RPice gapper 1.28 to place
Tri Chara 7/1

850 WOLVES
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Dream In Blue, 3/1 Miss Keck, 4/1 Alittlemoreflair, 7/1 Rannoch Rose, 20/1 Lunar Storm, Simonside, 33/1 Just Dennis, 50/1 Follow The Dream, Living The Dream, 66/1 Thirtyfourthstreet, 100/1 Nomadic Warrior.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A weak maiden in which DREAM IN BLUE should be able to make it third time lucky. Miss Keck and Alittlemoreflair are feared most.[AC]

A seeming 4 horse race with a fav hardened at time of writing into evens - 2 previous 2nd places augur well
No market movers at this stage - nb this is a maiden 1.25 to place

SHORTLIST
230 LEICESTER - Oscatello - 1.08 to place is relatively big for an originally 1/10 thought of horse in the betting forecast who merely has to stay on his feet to win
We are getting nearly 1/10 for the horse to place in the first 2! The horse is 1/10 with the bookmakers
Yes i know - drap price but what an opportunity

505 SANDOWN - Cracboumwiz - 1.2 to place for Choc Thornton and Alan King - a great combo to have on your side for a shortie An 8 runner race with 2 100/1 shots leaving 6 vying for 3 places
A good chance for Crac?

750 WOLVES - Mr Macattack a price gapper in a low grade 0-70 handicap so worthy of consideration for the place at 1.28

850 WOLVES - Dream in Blue looks good for a place provided that there are no big market movers between now and 850 Wolves 1.25

ONE A DAY
Oscatello the outstanding opportunity with BEtfair paying out nearly the same for the place as the bookies do for the win
Cracboumwiz looks to only have 3 to beat to place

200 WIN
BETTING FORECAST: 11/4 Prince Sabaah, 3/1 Prince Geeno, St Killian´s Run, 12/1 Beat The System, 14/1 Never Lost, 16/1 Ben Ami, Petito, Something Stupid, 25/1 Bite The Boss, 33/1 The Accordionist, 50/1 Ajzal, Quondor Noire, 66/1 Hot Choc, How´s Things, Princess Teddy, 100/1 Cnidos, Well Done You.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A weak race. Prince Sabaah is something of an underachiever and, although St Killian's Run can be expected to do better, it may pay to side with PRINCE GEENO, who should be able to win a race like this if fulfilling the promise he showed in bumpers last season.[FC]

Why is Adjal 50/1 in the betting forecast and 8/1 in the live market? Ditto Something stupid at 6/1

220 LING
BETTING FORECAST: 13/8 Enfant De Lune, 7/2 Okafranca, 9/2 Allfortara, 5/1 Have You Seen Me, 13/2 Super Directa, 20/1 Sir Ian, 25/1 Knight Woodsman, 33/1 Bee Sting, Sizeable Return, 50/1 Giollacca, Pugilist, Sleeping.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: A few of these have shown enough to win a race over hurdles, notably Allfortara, while bumper winner Have You Seen Me is also of strong interest. However, preference is still for the field's only previous hurdles winner ENFANT DE LUNE, who saw off quite a decent sort at Doncaster in December and may well have further progress in him for his top yard. [MCu]

3rd fav non runner - Market leader now odds on - 4 under 20/1 - SUper Directa the mover into 3/1 1.16

230 WIN
BETTING FORECAST: Evs Sashenka, 15/2 Burgess Hill, Ruby Crown, 8/1 Thursday´s Knight, 12/1 Anchor Bridge, 16/1 Inn For The Dancer, Saphire Night, 20/1 Free To Air, Worbarrow Bay, 25/1 Daarth.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: SASHENKA comes here at the top of her game and a reproduction of the form she showed to win at Ludlow last week will make her very hard to beat. Ruby Crown may give her most to do

Saphire Night now 6/1
A "hard to beat" market leader and a price gapper 1.43 to place a big price for a hard to beat price gapper

315 CARL
BETTING FORECAST: 1/3 Jaunty Flight, 11/2 Minster Abbi, 8/1 Cute N You Know It, 10/1 Back To Bills.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: JAUNTY FLIGHT, rated 145 over hurdles and setting a clear standard even on the form she's shown in two starts over fences, should take plenty of beating.[SB]

1/3 into 1/6 - heavy ground the concern 1.12

325 LING
BETTING FORECAST: 2/1 Bearneen Boy, 5/2 Babe Heffron, 4/1 Anna Panna, 10/1 Narlen, 12/1 King Diamond, 14/1 The Iron Giant, Wishes Or Watches, 20/1 Lord Gunnerslake.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Bearneen Boy got the job done when backed at Folkestone last week but he's no good thing to confirm the form with ANNA PANNA, who jumped really well considering it was her first run over fences. Babe Heffron should also be thereabouts if avoiding the dreaded 'bounce' factor on his second run back after an absence.[AWJ]

King Diamond 8/1

335 WIN
BETTING FORECAST: 11/8 Suntini, 7/2 Oiseau De Nuit, 4/1 Simply Blue, 8/1 Benetwood, 12/1 Abstract Art, Master Mahogany, 33/1 Baby Car.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: An interesting race in which lightly raced SUNTINI (nap) is open to further improvement back at this sort of trip and looks the answer, possibly at the main expense of Simply Blue.[FC]

Baby car 16/1

345 CARL
BETTING FORECAST: 3/1 Mitchel Henry, 4/1 Its A Classic, 6/1 Supreme´s Legacy, 7/1 Manoubi, Super Road Train, 9/1 Carry Duff, 10/1 Mage D´Estruval, 12/1 Ballygalley Bob, Paddy´s Tern, 33/1 Hever Road.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: MITCHEL HENRY, who hasn't had many chances in handicap company or at this sort of trip, is taken to follow up last month's course success over Its A Classic. 2008 winner Super Road Train, who is 2-3 over C&D and 1-2 under this rider, is next on the list.[SB]

PAddys turn 13/2

405 WIN
BETTING FORECAST: 10/11 Quickbeam, 11/10 Sound Accord, 25/1 Cold Mountain, Monzon.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This should revolve around QUICKBEAM and Sound Accord. Both have been novicey but Quickbeam is the one going forwards and will be hard to overhaul with a clear round.[FC]

4 horse race down to 3 adn still a 20/1 outsider 1.13 and 1.17 to place with only Cold Mountain to beat to place

430 LING
BETTING FORECAST: 5/2 Magot De Grugy, 4/1 Killard Point, 5/1 Ceoperk, 11/2 Ouragan Lagrange, 6/1 Spirit Of Man, 13/2 Tacinja, 14/1 Safari Adventures, 20/1 Roughing It.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: None of these are particularly convincing on recent evidence. Tacinja and, in particular, Killard Point are of definite interest but preference is for MAGOT DE GRUGY, who ran his best race for a while at Taunton last time and is two from three at Lingfield. [MCu]

Spirit of Mn 3/1 and Safari 10/1

530 LING
BETTING FORECAST: 5/2 Aohna, 3/1 Riverboat Gambler, 11/2 Coup D´Oeil, 13/2 Peachey Moment, 15/2 Yes Minister, 9/1 Badster, 11/1 Sir Mark, 20/1 Chaser´s War, Dawn Till Dusk, Stradocaster, 25/1 Suzis Gift, 33/1 Rock Of Dubai, 66/1 Tiny Dynamo.

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Those that have run, the most interesting of whom are Aohna and Peachey Moment, offer only modest form so the door is ajar for one of the two newcomers to make a big impact. Token preference is for nicely bred COUP D'OEIL, whose stable's two winners this jumps season have been in bumpers, ahead of Gary Moore's Riverboat Gambler. [MCu]

Rock of Dubai 16/1

ONE A DAY
Soft ground at 2 jumps venues and heavy at Carlisle make the day a difficult one
Checking www.racingpost.com - Wincanton is soft ,heavy in the odd place
Lingfield Chase coursesoft, heavy in places and hurdles course is heavy
Carlisle is heavy
We have seen in the past what heavy can do to apparent sure things!
That said, Jaunty Flight has won on heavy ground, the 1/3 is now 1/6 signifying confidence and the horse has 2 to beat to place, one of which is 20/1
405 WINCANTON must be the other race - 3 involced and an outsider at 20/1 I would go with Quickbeam here.

What a contrast to yesterday's plentiful opportunities! 1.12 for JAunty Flight is not bad for a 1/6 shot in the win market. It would not surprise if heavy scuppered this bet somehow but the horse is proven in the ground and is not an original selection. So there is risk involved with this bet today.
If you wanted to play it a little safer, it would seem Quickbeam only has to put in a clear round and beat a 20/1 shot in the win market to place. This is a far better probability race and at 1.13 is a reasonable bet
